The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app with Drew Fellios and Mark Wise on the call. It will also be available on the UCF IMG Sports Network with Marc Daniels and Taylor Young calling the action. HEROICS IN HOUSTON UCF fans remember the last time the Knights faced off against Houston, because sophomore Brandon Goodwin played the game of his career in a 30-point, sevenrebound, five-assist performance as UCF won in overtime back on Jan. 6. Goodwin put the game into overtime with a 30-foot three-pointer to tied the game with two seconds left in regulation. The point guard scored UCF s final 13 points of the game, including another long three to win it for the Knights with just 1.1 seconds on the clock. BEATING THE BULLS In front of a season high 6,201 fans at CFE Arena, the Knights snapped a six-game losing streak when they defeated in-state rival USF on Wednesday night. UCF held the Bulls to.357 shooting from the field and just.190 from the beyond the arc. Senior Kasey Wilson led the Knights with a season high 18 points and tied a career best with 11 rebounds, coming off the bench after missing nearly all of the last two games with a concussion. THE SERIES Houston leads UCF 9-8 in the all-time series between the two teams. The Knights hold a slight 4-3 advantage in games held in Orlando. Taylor leads the Knights and ranks seventh in the AAC with 13.9 ppg. He leads all freshmen in the conference in scoring. Taylor has scored in double figures in 14 out of 19 games played (left two early due to injury), and has led the Knights in scoring nine times. The Orlando native has been named American Rookie of the Week three times and earned Weekly Honor Roll accolades once. Taylor s 33 points against Tulane (1/17) were the most ever by a UCF freshman in the Knights NCAA Division I era. HENRIQUEZ IS A HIT Freshman Adonys Henriquez is second on the team and ranks 18th in the conference with 11.0 points per game. The Orlando native has scored in double figures 14 times and has eclipsed the 20-point plateau three times on the season. Henriquez has been named American Rookie of the Week three times and is the third highest scoring freshman in the league. He is seventh in The American in three-point percentage (.389) and sixth in threes made per game (2.2). DIAPER DANDY DUO The duo of Taylor and Henriquez make UCF one of just three teams across the nation to have a pair of freshmen as its top two scorers (Binghamton and UMass Lowell). One of the two freshmen has been the team s leading scorer in 13 out of the Knights 23 games this season. Taylor and Henriquez have secured six out of the 13 American Rookie of the Week honors this season between them (three each). GOODWINNING Goodwin has stepped up his game as a sophomore, improving his scoring average from 3.0 ppg to 10.3 ppg, which is 22nd in the league. He has scored in double figures in eight out of the last 11 games. Goodwin also leads the Knights and ranks sixth in the AAC with 3.6 apg. He played the hero when UCF won in overtime at Houston, scoring a career high 30 points, grabbing seven rebounds and handing out five assists. He scored the final 13 points for UCF, including a 30-footer with two seconds left to put it into OT and another three to win the game with 1.1 seconds on the clock. 2

The Cougars went overall and 8-10 in American Athletic Conference play a season ago. They returned five letterwinners and two starters from that team, including redshirt junior Jherrod Stiggers. Stiggers leads Houston in scoring with 14.7 points per game and leads the conference with 76 three-pointers made on the season. Danrad Kowles and Devonta Pollard add 10.7 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Houston comes to Orlando with a 9-14 overall record and a 1-10 mark in the league. Since falling to UCF in overtime, the Cougars lost five straight league contests, before defeating Rice in a non-conference game. Houston then earned its first victory in The American this season, defeating UConn at home, Losses to Tulsa and SMU followed. KNIGHT NOTES CALLING LONG DISTANCE The Knights are third in The American with a.359 three-point field goal percentage and rank second with 6.8 threes made per game. Junior Daiquan Walker leads the team and ranks fourth in the league at.403. Henriquez ranks seventh in the league at.389, while Taylor ranks ninth at.384. MORE FROM BEYOND THE ARC The Knights have knocked down 10 three-pointers in a game three times this season. Wilson is currently eighth in the UCF record books for career three-point percentage at.395. Henriquez has been a model of consistency beyond the arc, hitting three or more triples in 11 out of 23 games. NEW FACES IN KEY PLACES The Knights have started two freshmen and a sophomore on the perimeter in 19 of 23 games. The two freshmen - Taylor and Henriquez - are leading the team in scoring with 13.9 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Young sophomore Goodwin is third in scoring at 10.3 and leads the way with 3.6 assists per game. In 11 games sophomore Justin McBride has joined the starting lineup, giving the Knights four underclassman starters. The three-guard lineup of Taylor, Henriquez and Goodwin, however, has only been broken up when Taylor has been injured. TIP-IN WINS IT OVER GEORGIA SOUTHERN Wilson s tip-in with 29 seconds to go gave the Knights a win over Georgia Southern Dec. 2 at CFE Arena. McBride led the Knights in scoring for the second straight game, scoring 14 on 6-of-7 shooting and adding seven rebounds. Henriquez added 11 points on three three-pointers in 40 minutes. MOUNT MCBRIDE ERUPTS McBride exploded for career highs of 31 points and eight rebounds as UCF defeated Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 30. The 6-foot-10, 325 pound center had scored just eight points in 28 minutes during UCF s first four games of the season. He was named to the American Weekly Honor Roll for his performance. FRESHMAN FIRSTS Taylor s 25 points vs. USC Upstate were the most for a UCF freshman since Joey Graham scored 25 against MTSU on Dec. 12, Taylor was five years old. With 14 points against Stetson (11/14), Taylor was the first freshman to lead the Knights in scoring in a season opener since Graham on Nov. 24,

Tacko Fall (7-6 C Tavares, Fla.), Chad Brown (6-9 F Deltona, Fla.), Chance Mc- Spadden (6-4 G Winter Haven, Fla.) and Tanksley Efianayi (6-6 G Orlando, Fla.) will join UCF for PROVE THEM WRONG The Knights were picked to finish ninth out of 11 teams in the American Preseason Coaches Poll. THIS AMERICAN LIFE After eight years in Conference USA, UCF joined the American Athletic Conference in , the Knights fifth different league since moving to Division I in The American put four members into the NCAA Tournament in its first campaign (UConn, Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis). UConn won the NCAA Championship, SMU was the runner-up of the NIT and the American finished with a 13-4 overall postseason record, better than any other league. THE RETURNED UCF returns seven players from last year s squad. The Knights bring back just two players Kasey Wilson (22 starts), Staphon Blair (18 starts) who spent most of last year in the starting lineup. ACADEMIC SUCCESS UCF s Academic Progress Rate (APR) for announced this past May - was a perfect score of It marked the first time the Knights ever achieved the feat. The program s multi-year score of 943 was also the highest ever for UCF men s basketball since the APR began in TENNESSEE TRANSFER A.J. Davis (Atlanta, Ga.) joins the Knights as a sophomore in after transferring from Tennessee, but will sit out this season due to NCAA rules. Davis, son of former NBA All-Star Antonio Davis, saw action in 25 games, averaging 1.3 points on 40 percent shooting for the Vols as a freshman. IMPACT FRESHMEN UCF brought in a pair of Orlando natives to form a formidable freshman duo in Taylor and Henriquez. Taylor was the runner-up for Florida s Mr. Basketball Award, Florida Class 8A Player of the Year, and a Parade All-American after scoring a state-best 34.5 points per game at local Boone High School. Henriquez, a 6-foot-6 guard out of Orlando Christian Prep, was named Florida Class 2A Player of the Year while leading OCP to a state title with 14.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. 4
