That streak began with a 14-3 win vs. Atlanta (9/1/91). KC owns a (.727) record during its 117-game sellout streak. The 2004 season marked the 16th time in the past 17 seasons that KC has boasted a.500 record or better at Arrowhead. The Chiefs have produced a.500 record or better against their division foes at Arrowhead for 24 consecutive seasons. KC won its regular season finale at Arrowhead for the fifth consecutive season and for the 12th time in the last 15 seasons dating back to 90 with a win vs. Oakland (12/25). The Chiefs are 20-0 all-time at Arrowhead when scoring 40 points or more, including three victories against teams that reached the 2004 NFL Playoffs, getting a win vs. Atlanta (10/24), a victory vs. Indianapolis (10/31) and a triumph vs. Denver (12/19). The Chiefs outscored their opponents by a 33.1-to-25.6 margin at Arrowhead in KC s 46-point margin of victory in a win vs. Atlanta (10/24) tied as the fourth-best mark in team history and was the secondlargest victory margin ever recorded by KC at Arrowhead. THE CHIEFS IN THE NFL RECORD BOOK KC s 398 first downs were the most in NFL history, breaking the NFL record of 387 set by the 84 Dolphins. The Chiefs 63 rushing TDs in tied as the best two-year total in NFL history, matching the NFL record originally set by the Packers. OTHER NFL FIRSTS BY THE 2004 CHIEFS The Chiefs were the first NFL team to produce eight rushing TDs in a single game, getting four apiece from RB Priest Holmes and RB Derrick Blaylock in a win vs. Atlanta (10/24). Kansas City was the first team in league history to score 56 points in a game without a TD pass, doing it in a win vs. Atlanta (10/24). The Chiefs became the first franchise to ever have three different players record a 150-yard rushing game in a single season. FIRSTS IN FRANCHISE HISTORY BY THE 2004 CHIEFS The Chiefs led the NFL in total offense for the first time, averaging yards per game. KC ranked in the NFL s top five in each of the four major offensive categories for the first time in team history: scoring offense (2nd 30.2 ppg), total offense (1st ypg), pass offense (4th ypg) and rush offense (5th ypg). KC scored 30+ points in five consecutive games, a first in team history. CHIEFS LAND SIX PLAYERS IN PRO BOWL The Chiefs had six players selected to the 2005 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl. Returning Pro Bowlers from Kansas City include G Will Shields (10th Pro Bowl), T Willie Roaf (10th), TE Tony Gonzalez (6th) and FB Tony Richardson (2nd). G Brian Waters and TE Kendall Gammon (long snapper) will be making their initial appearances. MORE INDIVIDUAL POSTSEASON HONORS T Willie Roaf and G Brian Waters received first-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press. It marked the third straight year Roaf had been named to an AP All-Pro Team with the Chiefs and the first time Waters had been thus honored. The Chiefs recorded at least 1.0 sack in 15 games in The Chiefs registered 6.0 sacks vs. Denver (12/19), the club s highest total since getting 6.0 vs. St. Louis (12/8/02). KC permitted 200 or fewer net passing yards in contests vs. Carolina (9/19), at Baltimore (10/4), vs. Atlanta (10/24) and vs. Oakland (12/25). KC allowed 103 net passing yards vs. Atlanta (10/24), the club s lowest total since permitting 74 at Oakland (12/28/02). The Chiefs permitted a season-low six passing first downs at Baltimore (10/4), the club s lowest total since giving up five at Oakland (12/28/02). Kansas City s defense permitted a season-low nine pass completions vs. Atlanta (10/24), the club s best mark since allowing seven at Oakland (12/28/02).
