1 Final Homestand Awaits WSU Versus Oregon Schools Washington State Cougars Women s Basketball (5-17, 1-12) What s Happening: Thursday, Feb. 10 vs. Oregon (15-6, 8-4) 7 p.m. Pacific Pullman, Wash. What s Happening: The Washington State women s basketball team (5-17, 1-12 Pac-10) is home this week for its final two games at Friel Court this season the Cougars face Oregon (15-6, 8-4 Pac-10), Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m two days later, WSU plays its final home game against Oregon State (6-16, 1-11), Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m Cougar seniors Jessica Perry and Emma Joneby will be honored prior to the Oregon State contest. What s Happening Off The Court: 1 Saturday, Feb. 12 vs. Oregon State (6-16, 1-11) 2 p.m. Pacific Pullman, Wash. Oregon (Feb. 10): National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Bohler Gym...the clinic is open to all fans, 14 and under and will feature Cougar coaches and student-athletes from numerous women s sports. FREE pizza and refreshments will be provided to all participants, plus the first 50 participants will get a Cougar T-shirt! Season ticket holder appreciation night at the game. Oregon State (Feb. 12): Denny s Day at the game with special coupons for all fans! Perry Moves Up Career Assist List: Senior Jessica Perry enters her final homestand as one of the top assists performers in school history with 312 career assists Perry is the eighth player in school history to reach that milestone.the Jan. 22 UW game marked 2

Earlier This Season Against The Oregon Schools: The Cougars dropped their initial meetings to the Oregon schools in January Oregon State bested WSU 83-55, Jan. 13 while Oregon captured a win, Jan. 15. About Oregon: Cathrine Kraayeveld leads the Ducks with a 15.3 points a game average Andrea Bills is also averaging double figures in scoring (11.8 ppg) the Ducks come to Pullman riding a three-game winning streak. Series With Oregon: The Ducks have won the last eight in the series with WSU the Cougars last win was at Eugene, Feb. 15, 2001 WSU rallied from a 16-point deficit to capture a win marked the second greatest comeback in school history the Cougars last win at Pullman a triumph, Jan. 20 of that same year Oregon holds a 46-9 advantage in the all-time series. 7 Over A 1,000: The attendance figure of 1,460 for the Jan. 22 UW-WSU game was the largest to attend a Cougar home game since 1992 WSU drew 2,256 fans for its game against UW, Feb. 7, 1992 it also marked the third time that WSU drew over 1,000 fans for a home game this season marks the first time since the season that WSU has had at least three games that it attracted over 1,000 fans to a home game.that season, WSU had four home games of over 1,000 fans the Cougars drew 1,020 fans for their game against Arizona State, Dec. 27 a total of 1,149 witnessed the team s season-opening win over Boise State, Nov. 19 WSU is averaging 771 fans through 11 home games. Moore Makes Cougar Debut: Keisha Moore (Riverside, Calif.) is averaging 6.5 points and 5.6 rebounds a game tied a season-high with 12 points at USC, Feb. 3 and grabbed a season-high 12 boards at UCLA, Feb. 6 in her debut with the Cougars, scored 11 points, including 10 in the second half, against Eastern Washington, Dec. 18 in the second half, Moore shot 5-of-8 from the field during a 15-0 WSU second half run, Moore scored six straight points to bring the Cougars from a deficit to within one at barely missed a double-double against UW, Jan. 22 with a season-high 12 points and nine boards also just missed a double-double at Cal, Jan. 4 with nine points and eight rebounds transferred to WSU from the University of Idaho because of NCAA Division I transfer rules, Moore was not eligible to play until the day after the conclusion of the 2004 fall semester, which was Saturday, Dec. 18 she was able to practice with the team in two seasons at Idaho Moore averaged 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds a game. Coug Notes: WSU has been involved in seven games decided by six points or fewer the Cougars are 1-6 in those games the Cougars have trailed at the half in 19 games going 3-16 in those contests prior to leading UCLA at the half, Feb. 6, the Cougars had trailed at the half in 16 straight games. Coug Notes II: The 48.3 percent (28-of-58) shooting performance by the Cougars in the win over Cal, Jan, 27 was the best by the team since its win over Arizona State, Feb. 28, 2004 that day the Cougars shot 52.8 percent (28-of-53) en route to a win over the Sun Devils the Cougars have won four games by at least a double-digit margin the last time the team won as many games by double-digits was in the season (six). Coug Notes III: A total of 10 players have made at least one start for WSU Benz is the only player to have started all 22 games. Road Success: The win at San Diego State, Dec. 11 marked the third road win of the season for WSU, matching last season s road win total the three road wins are the most since the team won six in the win at St. Mary s, Nov. 26 marked the Cougars fourth win in their last 16 road contests dating back to the beginning of the season...that equaled the number of road wins the Cougars achieved from Jan. 28, 1999 to the conclusion of the season, a span of 61 road games. Longer Road Trip Than Expected: On the return trip from Oregon, Jan. 16 the Cougars were due to fly into Pullman via Seattle at 11 a.m. those plans were revised when the 6:50 a.m. flight from Eugene to 7

8 Seattle was cancelled (mechanical problems) faced with the prospect of arriving into Pullman at midnight, the team took the bus back to Pullman, a 10-hour ride along the way, the team witnessed the effects from the ice storm that hit Portland a day earlier the Cougars arrived safely back to Pullman at 6 p.m. Cougars Hold Portland State To 39 Points: The 39 points allowed by WSU against PSU were the fewest since Nov. 22, 1992 when the team defeated Gonzaga the 30-point margin of victory was the largest for WSU since it defeated Wyoming 94-49, Nov. 24, 1998 the Cougars held PSU to 27.4 percent shooting from the field that was the lowest shooting percentage from a Cougar opponent since Vermont (26.9 percent) in Big Assist: The 24 assists WSU recorded against Portland State were the most since the team tallied 24 assists in a win over Samford, Dec. 29, 2000 the duo of Stephanie Singer and Jessica Perry combined for 15 assists against the Vikings. Cougars Take Second At St. Mary s Tournament: WSU took home the second place trophy at the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by St. Mary s (Calif.) College the Cougars opened the tournament with a win over St. Mary s, Nov. 26 with the game deadlocked at 28 at the half, WSU outscored the Gaels in the second half in the championship game the next day the Cougars fell to Tennessee-Chattanooga Ferguson Posts Career-High At Nebraska: In her first game of the year at Nebraska, Nov. 22, Adriane Ferguson scored a career-high 26 points with 19 coming in the first half first half point total exceeded previous career-high (15 vs. Arizona State, Feb. 28, 2004) converted a career-high six 3-pointers against the Huskers tying her for sixth on the school s all-time list in single-game 3-point field goals with seven other players. All-Tournament Ferguson: Ferguson remained as warm as the California weather at the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic hosted by St. Mary s (Calif.) College in the first game against host St. Mary s, Nov. 26, scored a game-tying high 18 points and added eight rebounds to lead the Cougars to a win over the Gaels once again, amassed her point total mainly from behind the arc was 4-of-8 from 3-point territory scored a team-high 10 points against Tennessee-Chattanooga in the championship game a day later earned an all-tournament team selection led Cougars to a second place finish at the tournament. Home Opening Wins: With wins over Portland State and Boise State, the Cougars won their first two home games the last time the team won its first two home games was in November of 2001 when it defeated Portland State, Nov. 26 and Gonzaga, Nov. 29 the win over Boise State marked the second consecutive season home opening win for WSU last season, WSU defeated Fresno State in the two wins, the Cougars out-rebounded the opposition by over 20 in each game in the Portland State win, WSU held a (+23) advantage on the boards against Boise State, the Cougars outrebounded the Broncos (+21) prior to this season the last time Cougars out-rebounded an oppo- 8

9 nent by over 20 was against Idaho, Feb. 27, 2003 WSU out-rebounded the Vandals (+22) en route to an win. For Three!: The Cougars have converted ten 3-point field goals twice this season, against UCLA, Jan. 7 and in the win over St. Mary s, Nov. 26 that marked the most treys by the Cougars since WSU hit 12 in a win at Oregon, Feb. 15, it also marked the first time WSU hit double-digits in 3-point field goals in a game since the 2001 Oregon win, a span of 94 games. New And Familiar Faces: Six newcomers, including three freshmen, join seven returning letterwinners to make up the Cougars by class, the team is made up of two seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and three freshmen.
