2 SAMFORD BULLDOG CLUB The Samford Bulldog Club exists for the sole purpose of securing and managing the necessary financial resources for Samford student-athletes to excel at the highest level, both athletically and academically. We are the cornerstone of financial support for Samford Athletics MEMBERSHIP Since 204, Bulldog Club membership has quadrupled in size. PRIORITY POINTS All donations to Samford Athletics earn Priority Points, which are used to determine gameday reserved parking, priority seating, and away game and postseason tickets. 4 BULLDOG BASH The Bulldog Bash is held each spring and is a fun, vibrant celebration of Samford Athletics. Our guests enjoy visiting with coaches, student-athletes, senior Samford officials and many other Bulldog supporters. The evening includes a plated dinner and features an exciting silent and live auction. Proceeds support all 360 Samford student-athletes. SAMFORD CLASSIC The Samford Classic is the premier golf tournament in the state of Alabama. Participants in this event will play on a championship golf course, network with area executives, receive first class player gifts* and compete for elaborate hole prizes.* The 207 Samford Classic will be held at Shoal Creek in Birmingham on Monday, October 9. Proceeds from the Classic support all 360 Samford student-athletes. 6 METHODS OF GIVING PLEDGE The pledge system allows our donors the opportunity to make a pledge and to honor the pledge in installments over a one- to five-year period. CASH, CHECK OR CREDIT CARD The most common ways to give to the Bulldog Club are through cash, check or credit card. Please make checks payable to Samford Athletics. You can pay online at samford.edu/giving. You can also pay with a credit card by contacting the Bulldog Club office at MATCHING GIFTS Please consult the benefits office at your place of employment to see if you are eligible for gift matching and the steps required to make a matching gift. Matching gifts are not accepted for a Bulldog Club membership level but are accepted for sport gifts, capital campaigns and other 00% tax-deductible funds. Donors will receive soft gift credit for all matching gifts. DEFERRED/ESTATE GIFTS While outright gifts provide vital resources for the Athletics department today, deferred gifts shape and strengthen Samford Athletics future. To find out more about deferred and estate gifts through Samford Athletics, please contact Hal Langston at GIFT TRANSFERS Gifts of appreciated stock held for more than one year can provide specific advantages by avoiding capital gains tax. For those over age 70½, gifts of Required Minimum Distributions from IRAs avoid income taxation. Additionally, gifts of real estate may be accepted pending approval by the university.
