DEFENDING DURHAM: New Hampshire has a 10-3 record at Wildcat Stadium and that includes a perfect 6-0 last year. UNH s home win streak ended at seven games with a 10-3 loss to Colgate University in the Sept. 8 home opener this year. Since 2008, UNH had a 52-8 home record (.867 win percentage) that includes 17-3 vs. non-conference teams (.850 win percentage). Since the start of the Wildcats 14-year playoff run, they are at home (.831 win percentage) with a 22-4 mark against teams outside the CAA (.846 win percentage) two of those losses were to Colgate. Prior to this year, New Hampshire had not lost a regular-season home game to a non-conference team since Nov. 11, 2000, when Gardner-Webb was a victor. UNH has not lost consecutive home games since 2004, when the Cats lost 9-7 to William & Mary (Sept. 18) and to UMass (Oct. 16). WILDCAT STADIUM A NEW ERA OF UNH FOOTBALL: Wildcat Stadium saw a 13 percent increase from its inaugural season of UNH football, highlighted by the all-time largest crowd for a home opener (15,854) and largest on-campus crowd (22,135) in school history in the 2017 season. The Wildcats averaged 12,751 fans per home game in the 2017 regular season, up from 11,108 in the 2016 regular season. The overall attendance of 63,756 eclipsed that of 55,542 in 16. A new era of UNH football began Saturday, Sept , when New Hampshire played its inaugural game at Wildcat Stadium against College of the Holy Cross and prevailed in front of 13,242 spectators. Wildcat Stadium was built on the same site as its predecessor, Cowell Stadium, which was erected in The stands on the east side, which had served as the home bench, remain intact and are now the visitor s section. The new structure including the Service Credit Union Victory Club, club seats, press box, coaches boxes, general admission seating, 603 Eatery concession stand and souvenir store was erected on the west side and is the home bench. NATIONAL NUMBERS: UNH enters the week ranked No. 8 in the nation in fewest penalties per game (4.25) and 11th in fewest penalties (17). The Wildcats are also No. 6 in net punting (41.41 yards). Dean recorded 11 tackles in the Aug. 30 season opener at Maine and followed that with a career-high 16 tackles (8-8-16) against Colgate University. The 16 tackles were the most by a Wildcat since Oct. 13, 2012, when Matt Evans also made 16 stops against the University of Richmond. SIX CATS AT 100: A total of six active Wildcats have 100+ career tackles with junior linebacker Quinlen Dean having topped 200 career tackles at 205. The five other Cats who have eclipsed 100 career tackles are senior linebacker Jared Kuehl (153), senior defensive end Jae Wuan Horton (146), junior safeties Pop Lacey (157) and Rick Ellison (144), and junior cornerback Prince Smith, Jr. (109). It was his fourth career interception and second career pick-6. In the next game at nationally-ranked Elon, Lacey finished with 11 tackles (7-4-11) and a pass breakup. BALL HAWK: Sophomore safety Evan Horn ranks third on the team in tackles with 28 ( ). He has a team-high two interceptions and is tied atop the leaderboard in pass breakups with three; that gives him a team-high five passes defended. Horn recorded a career-high nine tackles (3-6-9) in the season opener at Maine and matched that with nine stops (1-8-9) at nationally-ranked Elon. Horn recorded an interception consecutive games against Colgate and Colorado; both thwarted an opponent s potential scoring drive with an INT in the end zone. Horn has five interceptions in just 18 career games. His five career INTs is tied for third among active Wildcats. PINNING THEM IN: Junior punter Drew Sanborn ranks second in the CAA with an average of 41.8 yards per punt. Sanborn has punted 27 times and pinned the opponent inside the 20 yard line 15 times with NO touchbacks. He has three punts of 50+ yards, including punts of 60 and 59 yards at Colorado. In comparison, the opposition has punted 25 times with an average of 34.8 yards/punt, two punts inside the 20, one punt of 50+ yards and one touchback. CONFERENCE CALL: Quinlen Dean is No. 1 in tackles at 10.8 per game. Pop Lacey is tied for No. 6 in that stat with 8.2 tackles per game. 4

Drew Sanborn is No. 2 in punting average at 41.8 yards per boot. His season-long punt of 60 yards is best in the conference. Evan Horn is tied for second in passes defended (1.25/game). Neil O Connor is No. 8 in both receiving yards per game (71.5) and receptions per game (5.25). Carlos Washington, Jr. is 10th in kickoff return average (15.8 yards/return). Brian Carter is tied for ninth in sacks (0.62 per game). Jae Wuan Horton is 10th in tackles for loss (1.25 per game). O-LINE SHUFFLE: Junior Jeff Carter and redshirt freshman Riley Burns made their first career starts Sept. 15 at Colorado in place of the injured Dayne Herron and Jack Carroll, respectively. Carter (left tackle) and Burns (left guard) lined up side-by-side for a totally new look on the left side. Senior transfer Cam Smith, who saw action off the bench each of the first three games of the season, emerged as the starting left guard out of UNH s open week for the Sept. 29 game at Elon. PLAYING FROM BEHIND: New Hampshire is yet to hold a lead this season. SLOW STARTS: The good news is that UNH has allowed just 14 points in the first quarter. The first TD was a 28-yard scoring drive by Colorado following a turnover; Elon became the first team to score points on the first drive against the Wildcats. The bad news is that New Hampshire has been held to a total of three first-quarter points Jason Hughes 41-yard field goal at Elon. NOT THE SECOND QUARTER: UNH has been outscored overall and that includes a 70-9 differential in the second quarter. The opposition also has the scoring edge in both the third (20-14) and fourth (16-7) quarters. SCORING STRUGGLES: Since 1972 (the Bill Bowes and Sean McDonnell era), UNH s lowest scoring total through four games is 26 in 1973 but the Cats had a 2-2 record. Since then, the lowest totals have been 33 in 2018 (0-4 record), 48 in 1998 (1-3), 50 in 1980 (1-3) and 52 in 2002 (0-4). The 24 points scored through three games marked the lowest total since the 1973 Wildcats had a 1-2 record on 13 points; since then, the other lowest totals were 24 (2018), 26 (1980) and 30 (1995). KEEPING DRIVES ALIVE: The opponents have a sizable edge in both scoring (120-33) and total offense (1, yards), but there has not been much difference in third down conversions. In fact, the Wildcats (18-for-58) and opposition (19-for-61) both calculate to 31%. Of note, the fourth quarter has been the lowest conversion percentage for both UNH (3 of 12; 25%) and opponents (2 of 16; 13%). When looking beyond to fourth down, UNH is 2-for-8 (25%) in comparison to the opponent s 6-for-8 (75%). SEEING RED: New Hampshire has scored just six points on a total of five trips into the red zone. The Wildcats made a 30-yard field goal vs. Colgate, but also missed a 36-yard attempt against the Raiders and a 42-yarder at Colorado. Last week at Elon, the Cats were 1-for-2 on drives into the red zone as they made a 41-yard field goal at Elon and were forced to punt on the other. In fact, UNH only had two snaps inside the red zone and both plays lost yardage to push the Wildcats out of the red zone (illegal block penalty in the first quarter from the E16 to the E26; and a sack on the first drive of the third quarter moved the ball from the E19 to the E25). In comparison, the opponents have scored on 14 of 15 trips inside UNH s red zone with 10 TDs (eight rush; two pass), four field goals and an interception. LOSING THE TURNOVER BATTLE: New Hampshire has committed more turnovers than the opponent all four games this season and is -4 overall. UNH committed the only turnover of the game at Maine and was also on the short end vs. Colgate (2-1), Colorado (3-2) and Elon (2-1). WHO HAS POSSESSION: The opponent has had the edge in time of possession all four games with an aggregate advantage of 33 minutes, 48 seconds. Game 4 at Elon marked the largest differential of 12:32 and Maine also had UNH S RECORD WHEN Playing at home Playing on the road Winning turnover battle Losing turnover battle Turnovers are even UNH scores first Opponent scores first UNH leads after 1st quarter UNH trails after 1st quarter Tied after 1st quarter UNH leads at the half UNH trails at the half Tied at the half UNH leads after 3 quarters UNH trails after 3 quarters Tied after 3 quarters A Wildcat rushes for 100+ yards UNH rushes for 250+ yards UNH rushes for 250+ & passes for 250+ yds UNH scores less than 20 points UNH scores points UNH scores points UNH scores 40+ points UNH allows less than 20 points UNH allows points UNH allows points UNH allows 40+ points Playing on FieldTurf Playing on Grass UNH wins the coin toss UNH receives opening kickoff Opponent receives opening kickoff SEASON HIGHS/LOWS Largest margin of victory... n/a Smallest margin of victory... n/a Largest margin of defeat... 31, at Colarado (45-14) Smallest margin of defeat...7, vs. Colgate (10-3) Largest deficit overcome in victory... n/a Largest lead relinquished in loss...n/a Most points...14, at Colorado Fewest points...3, vs. Colgate Most rushing yards, team...73, vs. Colgate Fewest rushing yards, team...minus-7, at Maine Most passing yards, team , vs. Colorado Fewest passing yards, team , at Maine Most yards, team , vs. Colorado Fewest yards, team , at Maine Most rushing yards, ind...25, Coyne & Washington, Jr., at Elon Most pass yards, ind , Christain Lupoli, at Elon Most receiving yards, ind...98, Neil O Connor, vs. Colorado Longest rushing play... 29, Evan Gray vs. Colgate Longest pass play...71, Lupoli to O Connor, at Colorado Longest kickoff return... 24, Carlos Washington, Jr. at Maine Longest punt return... 7, Sean Coyne at Colorado Longest INT return...15, Pop Lacey at Colorado Longest fumble return...0, Jared Kuehl at Elon Longest field goal... 41, Jason Hughes at Elon Longest punt...60, Drew Sanborn at Colorado Longest scoring pass... 71, Lupoli to O Connor at Colorado Longest scoring rush...25, Sean Coyne at Elon Most turnovers forced...2, at Colorado Most tackles, player...16, Quinlen Dean vs. Colgate Most points allowed...45, at Colorado Fewest points allowed...10, vs. Colgate Most rush yds. allowed...311, at Colorado Fewest rush yds. allowed...130, vs. Colgate Most pass yds. allowed , at Elon Fewest pass yds. allowed...84, vs. Colgate Most yards allowed...491, at Colorado Fewest yards allowed...214, vs. Colgate 5

a significant advantage of 12:02; Colorado had the ball for 6:09 longer than UNH; Colgate s 4:10 marked the smallest advantage so far. GROUND GAME: UNH has rushed the ball 126 times for 152 yards that includes 19 sacks for a loss of 107 yards for averages of 1.2 yards per carry and 38.0 rushing yards per game. The Wildcats best numbers were 37 rushes for 73 yards (2.0 yards per rush) against Colgate. In comparison, the opponent has 178 carries for 833 yards (4.7 yards per rush and rushing yards/game). TARGETING O CONNOR: Senior wide receiver Neil O Connor is targeted by UNH quarterbacks far more frequently than any other Wildcat. O Connor accounts for 21 of 54 receptions (39%) and 286 of 658 receiving yards (48%). O Connor, who has one of the team s two TD catches, is averaging 13.6 yards per catch and 71.5 receiving yards per game. He recorded his eighth career 100-yard receiving game with 10 catches for 111 yards against Colgate at Wildcat Stadium on Sept. 8. He accounted for 10 of the team s 14 receptions and 111 of 133 receiving yards. O Connor had five catches for 98 yards at Colorado (Sept. 15), and that included a 71-yard TD reception. CAT DEFENSE STIFLES COLGATE: UNH s defense allowed just 214 total yards of offense to Colgate in a 10-3 loss to the Raiders at Wildcat Stadium on Sept. 8. The Wildcat D limited Colgate s passing game to 84 yards on 8 of 18 attempts (44.4 completion percentage). The previous time UNH held an opponent below 100 passing yards was Week 2 last year vs. Georgia Southern (93 passing yards). Colgate s 84 passing yards was the lowest by an opponent since the College of William & Mary had 61 (Oct. 1, 2016). Colgate scored the only touchdown of the game early in the second quarter by capitalizing on a turnover that gave the Raiders possession at the UNH 19 yard line. Colgate needed eight plays and 4:50 to punch it in on a 1-yard quarterback keeper by Grant Breneman on fourth down. That was the only time the entire game that Colgate was in the red zone. Colgate converted just 2 of 15 third downs (13.3%), but was successful on all three fourth down attempts. FIRST CAREER START: Sophomore quarterback Christian Lupoli made his first career start Sept. 8 vs. Colgate. He completed 14 of 24 passes for 133 yards; he was sacked three times. Lupoli also had 10 rushes (including the three sacks) for a net of 13 yards. One week later at Colorado, he was 13-for-31 for 160 yards and a TD; he was also sacked five times for a loss of 33 yards. Last week at Elon, Lupoli completed 16 of 27 passes for 174 yards; he was sacked five times and threw an interception. Through four games, Lupoli is 48 of 95 for 565 yards, two touchdowns and two INTs; those numbers calculate to a 50.5 completion percentage and passer efficiency rating. He has a team-high 33 rushes (including 17 sacks) for a net of minus-14 yards. Lupoli entered the season opener at Maine (in place of injured starter Trevor Knight) at 6:14 of the second quarter with UNH trailing Lupoli completed his first three passes and had a five-yard rush to march the Cats to the Maine 39, but a holding penalty pushed UNH back and forced a punt. Lupoli finished the game 5 of 13 for 98 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown. The 13 attempts and 98 passing yards both marked career highs. He did not throw an interception and was sacked four times. Last year, Lupoli came on in relief for an injured Knight during the secondround playoff game at Central Arkansas and led the Wildcats to a win. With UNH leading 14-9, Lupoli engineered an 11-play, 63-yard TD drive to extend the advantage to 21-9 midway through the third quarter. He finished the game completing 8 of 10 passes for 63 yards, including a nine-yard TD pass, for a passer efficiency rating. In eight games last year (five with a pass attempt), Lupoli was 13 of 28 for 95 yards, one TD and one INT; he also had 18 carries for 11 yards, including a long of 14. McDonnell s predecessor, Bill Bowes, is No. 3 at 97 career conference wins. THE CAPTAINS: Seniors Trevon Bryant, Jae Wuan Horton and Jared Kuehl were named the 2018 captains prior to the spring s Blue-White scrimmage last May. Bryant is a rare two-time captain for the Wildcats. He was a senior during spring camp in 2017 and was injured early in the session, knocking him out for the 17 season. Despite his injury, his teammates elected him captain for last season as camp ended. Because Bryant played as a true freshman, he was able to get a medical redshirt for last season, is eligible to play in 2018 and he was picked as a captain again. 6

THE PASSERS: Trevor Knight, the 2018 CAA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, put up one of the most productive seasons ever for a UNH quarterback in He broke the school single-season record for pass attempts (471), had the No. 2 mark in passing yards (3,433) and No. 3 in completions (291). Turn the page to the 2018 season, where Knight has been sidelined since incurring an injury Week 1 in the second quarter at Maine. Sophomore Christian Lupoli saw limited playing time last year but has been thrust into the starting role. Redshirt freshman Tommy Herion made his collegiate debut late in the game at Maine. With 1:59 remaining, he threw an incompletion on first down and then handed the ball off three times to end the game. Herion also entered the Colorado game in the fourth quarter; he finished 3-for-8 for 68 yards. THE TARGETS: UNH s quarterbacks have plenty of familiar targets, led by seniors Neil O Connor and Kieran Presley, as well as junior Malik Love. O Connor had a breakout season in The consensus All-American and Walter Payton Award finalist led UNH in receptions (97), receiving yards (1,396) and receiving TDs (10), as well as all-pur- pose yards (1,510) and points (60); he averaged 14.4 yards/ reception and 99.7 receiving yards/ game. O Connor enters Saturday s game vs. Holy Cross with 21 catches for 286 yards and one TD. Love led the Wildcats in catches with 59 for 520 yards in 2016 and upped his numbers to 70 for 733 yards and three scores last year. This season, he has been limited to two catches for 15 yards in two games. Presley, who missed the first five games last year with an injury and started the final nine contests, has seven catches for 65 yards. Junior Justin Malone-Woods has been the top pass-catching tight end with 18 catches for 275 yards and a couple of touchdowns the last two seasons. This season, he has one catch for one yard in three games; he did not play last week at Elon. Redshirt freshman Gunner Gibson is the only other Wildcat TE with a reception this season; he recorded his first career catch for 21 yards at Colorado. Gibson had a 12-yard reception at Elon. THE BALL CARRIERS: Senior Trevon Bryant, junior Evan Gray and redshirt freshman Carlos Washington, Jr. have split the workload in the backfield. As a junior in 2016, Bryant averaged six yards a carry 82 carries for 496 yards and scored five touchdowns. After a redshirt year in 17, he has 19 carries for 27 yards this season with a long of six yards; Bryant had one rush for a loss of a yard last week at Elon. Gray rushed for 650 yards (3.6 yards a carry) and scored eight of UNH s 12 rushing TDs last season; he also caught 20 passes for 135 yards and a score. This year, Gray is UNH s leading rusher with 70 yards on 27 carries with a long of 12; that is an average of 2.6 yards/carry and 17.5 yards/game. Washington, Jr. has 23 rushes for 60 yards, including a long of 15; he is averaging 2.6 yards/carry and 15.0 rushing yards/game. He also has six catches for 120 yards and a TD. Washington, Jr. had an impressive debut at Maine with 142 all-purpose yards (11 rush; 75 receive; 56 kickoff return). Brandon Gallagher has seen limited action at running back with six carries for 15 yards. THE BLOCKERS: Senior Dayne Herron and sophomores Jack Carroll and Matt Mascia are the guys up front with returning experience on the offensive line. Herron and Carroll worked side-by-side on the left side for a majority of the 2017 season. The duo reprised those roles the first two games of the season, but both players missed the next two games at Colorado and at Elon. Junior Jeff Carter and redshirt freshman Riley Burns stepped in a left tackle and left guard, respectively, at Colorado. Cam Smith then replaced Burns at left guard at Elon. Herron is be a third-year starter. He started all 13 games in which he played last season all at left tackle; he had started the last 10 games of the 2016 season at right tackle. Noah Robison was inserted into the starting lineup at right tackle the last two games of the 2017 season. Robison and Mascia have started on the right side of the line all four games in 18. UNH had to replace the man in the middle Jake Kennedy was an All- CAA Second Team selection at center last year. Redshirt freshman Patrick Flynn has filled that position. THE D-LINE: Seniors Jae Wuan Horton and Ryan Sosnak, as well as sophomores Brian Carter and Elijah Lewis, are the core of the defensive line. 7

Horton has started UNH s last 41 games, dating back to the third game of his redshirt freshman season. Last week at Elon, he had seven tackles including one for loss and forced a fumble. Through four games, Horton leads UNH s defensive linemen with 21 tackles ( ) and ranks second on the team in both tackles for loss (5.5) and sacks (2.0). Carter has been disruptive with 10 tackles (5-5-10), two pass breakups and a forced fumble (on a strip-sack). Carter is atop the Wildcats leaderboard in sacks (2.5) and has 3.0 tackles for loss. Sosnak, with 31 consecutive starts, is the main man in the middle of the defensive line. He has 16 tackles (8-8-16) with three tackles for loss, including two sacks. Sosnak has blocked one kick this season to increase his career total to four. Lewis has been starting alongside Sosnak in the middle of the line. Lewis has 14 tackles (6-8-14) with 1.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage. THE LINEBACKING UNIT: Quinlen Dean piled up tackles and had a breakout season last year, while Jared Kuehl turned in another big-play season despite missing several games because of injury. Dean leads the Cats in unassisted tackles (21) assisted tackles (22) and total tackles (43); he also has a team-high 7.0 tackles for loss. He has 10+ tackles 3 of 4 games, including a career-high 16 tackles (8-8-16) Week 2 against Colgate. Dean s other stats include a sack and a forced fumble. Kuehl, who was sidelined four games by injury a year ago, has 13 tackles (7-6-13) with 1.5 for loss, as well as a fumble recovery. Junior Michael Balsamo and sophomore Steven Harper are the primary backups. Balsamo has 15 tackles ( ), including two for loss, and Harper has made 10 stops (7-3-10). SAFETIES: Juniors Rick Ellison and Pop Lacey and sophomore Evan Horn rank on the team in tackles and account for three of the team s four takeaways. Lacey is No. 2 in tackles with 33 ( ) and he has scored one of UNH s four touchdowns this season on a 15-yard INT return at Colorado. He recorded a game-high 10 tackles in that game against the Buffaloes. Lacey followed that with an 11-tackle effort at Elon. Horn ranks third with 28 tackles ( ) and has recorded two of the team s four takeaways with a pair of interceptions (both in the end zone). Horn is also tied atop the leaderboard in pass breakups with three. He recorded a personal best of nine tackles (3-6-9) at Maine and matched that output with at Elon. Ellison is fourth with 26 tackles ( ), and he has also been credited with two pass breakups. Ellison has been consistent with a high of eight tackles at Elon and low of five at Colorado. ANTI-AIR DEFENSE: They are the Big 3 of the cornerback position: juniors Isiah Perkins and Prince Smith, Jr., and sophomore Alonzo Addae. All three are often on the field together in passing situations. Perkins has recorded three pass breakups; both Addae and Smith, Jr. have two. Smith, Jr. leads this group in tackles with 17 ( ). He tied his career high of seven tackles in the season opener at Maine. Both Perkins (7-6-13) and Addae (8-5-13) have 13 tackles. KICKING THE BALL AROUND: Junior Drew Sanborn has excelled in his first year as the punter. Sanborn is second on the CAA leaderboard with an average of 41.8 yards per punt. Sanborn has punted 27 times and pinned the opponent inside the 20 yard line 15 times with no touchbacks. He has three punts of 50+ yards, including punts of 60 and 59 yards at Colorado. Sophomore placekicker Jason Hughes has made both PATs and is 2-for-3 on field goal attempts. Hughes made a 30-yarder vs. Colgate and a 41-yarder at Elon, and his 42-yard attempt at Colorado rang off the right upright. Junior Mitch McPike took over kick off duties Week 2 vs. Colgate. Four of his eight kickoffs have been touchbacks; four were at Colorado. McPike converted his only PAT kick and he is 0-1 on field goals with a 36-yard miss against Colgate. Evan Horn was the only Wildcat with a punt return a year ago, and this year he has three punt returns with an average of 2.7 per return. Sean Coyne has two punt returns for nine yards. O CONNOR RECEIVES PRESEASON RECOGNITION: Senior wide receiver Neil O Connor was a consensus 2018 Preseason All-American; STATS, HERO and Phil Steele all had O Connor on the First Team. He was also named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List. Following the 2017 season, O Connor received All-America recognition six times and was also named All-ECAC First Team, All-New England, and All-CAA First Team. O Connor led UNH and the CAA in receptions (97), receiving yards (1,396), receiving yards/game (99.7) and receiving TDs (10); he was also atop the team leaderboard in both all-purpose yards (1,510; fifth in CAA) and points (60). On the national leaderboard, those numbers ranked No. 3 in receiving yards, 11th in receptions per game and receiving yards per game, and 14th in receiving TDs. Those numbers also ranked high on UNH s list of single-season superlatives No. 2 in receptions and No. 4 in receiving yards. The previous Wildcat to reach double digits in TD catches was R.J. Harris with 15 in the 2014 season. O Connor s 2017 highlights included a career-high 232 receiving yards including a career-long 76-yard TD reception vs. Rhode Island, personal best 13 catches (182 yards) at Stony Brook and career-high three TDs (7 catches, 154 yards) vs. Bryant. KNIGHT TABBED CAA PRESEASON OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Senior quarterback Trevor Knight was named the offensive player to watch by the CAA coaches. His 2017 accolades included New England Football Writers Division I Season Gold Helmet Award, All-New England and CAA Football Third Team. Knight broke the school record for single-season pass attempts with 471; his other 17 numbers ranked second in passing yards (3,433) and third in completions (291). Also of note, his 26 passing TDs were the most by a Wildcat since 2008, when R.J. Toman had 28. Knight s other stats included a 61.8 completion percentage and QB efficiency rating. 8

Knight was nationally-ranked in the Top 20 in five stats: 9th in passing yards, 13th in passing TDs, 15th in completions per game, and 18th in both passing yards per game and points responsible for. On the CAA leaderboard, he ranked second in both passing yards/game (245.2) and total offense/game (256.8), and third in both passing efficiency and completion percentage. Knight s 2017 season highlights included a career-high 420 passing yards vs. Rhode Island (23x34, 3 TDs, rating); personal-best four TDs against both Towson and William & Mary; season-high 76.2 completion percentage (32x42) vs. Elon for 271 yards and one TD; completed 25 of 35 passes for 406 yards and had a rating at W&M. WILDCAT TRIO NAMED PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE: Senior quarterback Trevor Knight, senior wide receiver Neil O Connor and junior linebacker Quinlen Dean were announced to the CAA Football Preseason All-Conference Team at the conference s annual media day that was held July 24 at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL s Baltimore Ravens. Dean was the top Cat in solo tackles (80), assisted tackles (44) and total tackles (124); the 80 solo tackles were more than all other Cats had total tackles. He also ranked fourth in tackles for loss (11.5). Dean led the CAA led the CAA and tied for third in the country with 80 solo tackles, and he paced the league and ranked fifth nationally in total tackles. He was UNH s top tackler in 9 of 14 games, including five straight spanning Oct. 28-Nov. 25. He recorded double-digit tackles five times, including career-high 15 (6-9-15) at Albany. His other season highlights included 12 stops (9-3-12) in the NCAA first round vs. Central Connecticut State, in which he recorded a season-high three tackles for loss and in interception. Dean s 2017 accolades included All-CAA Second Team and HERO Sports Sophomore All-America First Team. UNH PICKED SECOND IN CAA PRESEASON POLL: New Hampshire was voted second in the CAA Football Preseason Poll. The Wildcats received two first-place votes and 206 points to place behind three-time defending champion James Madison (241 points; 21 first-place votes). Delaware (182), Stony Brook (169) and Elon (168; 1) round out the top five. NATION-LEADING 14 STRAIGHT FCS POSTSEASONS: UNH received one of 14 at-large berths to the 2017 NCAA FCS Division I Championship to extend the longest active playoff streak in the nation to 14 years; the next longest active streak of eight is held by North Dakota State. The Cats have compiled a postseason record during the streak. It all began in 2004 with a first round upset (27-24 win) at Georgia Southern.
