CARTER PROPELS BOBCATS TO WIN AT MIAMI Freshman forward Jason Carter (Johnstown, Ohio) produced his fourth double-double with a career-high 25 points to go along with a gamehigh 11 rebounds as Ohio topped MAC East Division archrival Miami, 79-62, on Tuesday at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio. The Bobcats have walked away victorious in 11 of the last 12 meetings with the RedHawks. Carter went 10-of-14 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line to help power the Bobcats to victory. He also added an assist, a block and a steal in 31 minutes. Carter has scored at least 20 points three times this year and has led the team in rebounding a team-high 11 times this season. Redshirt junior guard Jaaron Simmons (Dayton, Ohio) tallied to 21 points off of 7-of-10 shooting from the floor and a 5-of-5 effort from the charity stripe. He has surpassed the 20-point mark in six of the last 11 games. His and-one bucket with 8:39 left in the second half put him over the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career. Between his freshman season at Houston and his time as a Bobcat, he has scored 1,012 points. Simmons also tallied three rebounds and an assist over 37 minutes. Junior guard Mike Laster (Detroit, Mich.) came off the bench to score 14 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor en route to reaching double figures for the fourth game in a row. Ohio has now won three in a row -- its longest winning streak since start MAC play 3-0. Center after recording two big road wins over MAC East Divison rivals. Kent State handed Akron its first home loss on Feb a triumph over the Zips. On Tuesday, the Flashes earned a victory over Buffalo in Amherst, N.Y. Rob Senderoff is in his sixth year as head coach at Kent State. His squad is one of the top rebounding teams in the nation with a +6.4 rebounding margin, which is good for first in the conference and 22nd in the country. Senior forward Jimmy Hall, a Preseason All-MAC East Division Team selection, leads Kent State with 18.3 points per game (ffith in the MAC), 10.4 rebounds per game (third in the MAC, 14th in the country) and 2.5 assists per game. He also recorded an assist, a block and a steal in 29 minutes of work. Laster gave the Bobcats a solid 21 minutes off of the bench, shooting 5-of-6 from the field to tally 10 points. He also posted four rebounds and two assists. BOBCATS GRIND OUT WIN AT EASTERN MICHIGAN Dartis went a career-best 12-of-12 from the free throw line en route to a career-high 26 points to help the Ohio men s basketball team grind out a win over MAC West Division foe Eastern Michigan on Feb. 14 at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti, Mich. Ohio won for the first time in Ypsilanti since The Bobcats converted 33-of-42 free throw attempts (78.6 percent) in the victory -- including a 31-of-40 effort in the second half. Ohio won the battle of the boards, 44-35, and outscored Eastern Michigan s bench, thanks in large part to a career-high 16 points from Laster. He also provided the Bobcats with four rebounds in 28 minutes. Laster shot made three of his four free throw attempts. Dartis shot 5-of-11 from the field -- including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. He also matched his career high with seven rebounds and set a new career standard with two blocks. Carter logged his third double-double of the year with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in 24 minutes of work. He converted seven of his nine attempts from the free throw line. OHIO PULLS OUT WILD WIN AT BALL STATE Ohio got three-straight defensive stops when it had to have them on the game s final possessions to hang on for a heart-stopping victory over MAC West Division foe Ball State on Feb. 10 in a nationally televised matchup at Worthen Arena in Muncie, Ind. After the Bobcats took a lead into halftime -- their largest road lead of the season at the break -- the Cardinals stormed back with a furious second-half rally that saw Ball State outscore Ohio by a count over the final 20 minutes of play. Ohio managed to get stops on Ball State s final three possessions, though. Dartis led Ohio with 16 points, going 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of- 6 from beyond the arc. Carter nearly achieved a double-double with 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Laster tallied 14 points off of the bench to match his career high, with 11 coming in the first half. Simmons and Block each finished with 13 points. Simmons also dished out a team-high five assists while Block recorded four rebounds, two steals and assist and a block. The win allowed Ohio to bounce back from a loss to MAC West Division foe Central Michigan on Feb. 7 at the Convocation Center -- a contest in which Simmons nearly posted a double-double. Simmons led the way for Ohio with 30 points. He also distributed a game-high nine assists, hauled in a team-high nine boards and a collected a steal while going the full 40 minutes. Simmons shot 10-of-19 from the field -- including 4-of-7 three-point range -- and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. He put together his second-straight outing with at least 30 points. BOBCATS HAND ZIPS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS Simmons scored a career-high 38 points to power Ohio to an win over MAC East Division rival Akron on Feb. 4 in front of 10,101 fans at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats handed the Zips their first conference loss of the 2017 season and put a halt to Akron s 12-game winning streak. Ohio picked up its first win over Akron since an triumph on Feb. 4, 2015, at the Convo, snapping a two-game losing skid in the series. Simmons put on a performance to remember in front of the Bobcat faithful, going 10-of-16 from the floor, a career-best 5-of-5 from three-point range and 13-of-16 from the free throw line. He notched 25 of his 38 points in the second half. His 10 made field goals and 13 made free throws matched career highs. He became the first Bobcat to score at least 35 points in a game since Armon Bassett tallied 38 at Miami on March 11, Simmons recorded his fourth double-double of the year and 11th of his career thanks to a season-high 10 rebounds. He also chipped in a team-high five assists and a steal in 40 minutes of work. Thanks in large part to Simmons, Ohio put together a strong offensive showing, shooting 47.9 percent (23-of-48) from the field -- including 40.9 percent (9-of-22) from three-point range. The Bobcats also converted 78.9 percent (30-of-38) of their free throw attempts, with their 30 makes marking a season high. OHIO FINISHES FIRST HALF OF MAC PLAY WITH FIVE WINS Ohio picked up victories in five of its first nine league games on the 18-game 2017 MAC slate. The Bobcats started league play 3-0. Ohio opened conference play with an victory over Western Michigan on Jan. 3 at the Convo. The Bobcats 31-point margin of victory marked the largest over Western Michigan since the season when Ohio came away with a triumph on Feb. 7, The Bobcats then put together a dominant triumph over East Division rival Kent State on national television on Jan. 6 at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats turned 20 turnovers by the Golden Flashes into 23 points. The Bobcats 15 steals marked the most by an Ohio team since posting 12 against Kent State on March 1, The last time Ohio tallied 15 steals in a game was against UNC Asheville on Feb. 18, On Jan. 10 in Amherst, N.Y., redshirt senior forward Kaminski knocked down a jumper with a hand in his face with 0.8 seconds left to lift Ohio to an incredible comefrom-behind win over MAC East Division rival Buffalo at Alumni Arena. The Bobcats erased a 15-point second half deficit in the victory. Ohio outscored Buffalo, 46-30, in the second half. Ohio dropped its next two games after the win over Buffalo, falling at home to Eastern Michigan, 53-49, on Jan. 14, then suffering an setback to East Division rival Akron on Jan. 17 at James A. Rhodes Arena. Ohio posted a big road win at Northern Illinois on Jan. 21 at the Convocation Center in DeKalb, Ill. Making his first career start, Carter posted the second double-double of his young career with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, which set a new career standard. He became the first Ohio player to tally a double-double in his first career start since freshman Leon Williams achieved the feat with 11 points and 11 rebounds in an victory over San Francisco on Nov. 29, 2004, at the Convo. The momentum built in DeKalb did not carry over, though, as Ohio suffered a setback to MAC West Division foe Toledo on Jan. 24 at the Convocation Center in Athens. Ohio rebounded from the loss to Toledo in a big way, sinking a season-high 18 three-pointers en route to a blowout win East Division rival Bowling Green on Jan. 28 at the Stroh Center. The Bobcats victory put a halt to a four-game losing skid in the series with the Falcons. The 24-point win marked Ohio s largest margin of victory in a conference road game since racing past MAC West Division foe Ball State by 27 points, 69-42, on Feb. 6, 2013, in Muncie, Ind. Ohio matched its season high with 96 points. The Bobcats shot a season-best 53.5 percent (38-of-71) from the field, with the 38 field goals made marking the team s most this year. Ohio converted at a 51.4 percent (18-of-35) rate from beyond the arc. The 18 treys rank as the second-most in a single game in program history and most since the Bobcats drilled 17 in a victory over Miami on March 6, Simmons went 10-of-18 from the field -- including 3-of- 6 from beyond the arc -- to tally a game-high 23 points. Redshirt senior forward Kaminski shot 7-of-10 from three-point range en route to notching 22 points. The Bobcats were saddled with a loss to MAC West Division foe Western Michigan on Jan. 31 at University Arena. The Bobcats led by 10 with 4:58 to play, but the Broncos stormed back with a 19-5 run to secure the come-from-behind victory. Ohio led by as many as 21 with three minutes to play in the first half and did not relinquish the lead to Western Michigan until 32 seconds remained in the contest. Ohio fell despite shooting 52.7 percent (29-of-55) from the field. Western Michigan shot just 40.6 percent (13-of-32) in the first half but bounced back with a 57.7 percent (15-of-26) effort over the final 20 minutes of play. The Broncos won the battle of the boards, 37-29, and outscored the Bobcats bench, Ohio was also plagued by 15 turnovers. OHIO EARNS EIGHT WINS IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY Ohio started a season with four-straight wins for the first time under third-year head coach Saul Phillips after topping Tennessee Tech, 68-

4 57, on Nov. 25 at the Convo. The Green & White posted a triumph at Georgia Tech on Nov the program s first win in an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent s gym since Dec. 12, an Ohio victory over then-acc member Maryland in College Park, Md. The Bobcats stymied Southern, 77-67, on Nov. 12 in the season opener at the Convocation Center, then rolled to a triumph over Southland Conference preseason favorite on Nov. 14 at the Convo. Ohio s win over Southern marked the 13th year in a row the Bobcats have won their season opener. Other Ohio victories during the non-conference slate included wins over Sam Houston State (Nov. 14, 96-75), Bryant (Dec. 3, 79-53), Milwaukee (Dec. 14, 71-69), Cleveland State (Dec. 17, 71-53) and Urbana (Dec. 30, 77-50). CONFERENCE ROAD WARRIORS Ohio is 7-5 overall on the road in but is 6-2 in MAC play. Ohio went 4-5 on the road in league play last season and just 1-8 two years ago. HOME, SWEET HOME Ohio has registered an impressive (.758) all-time record at the Convocation Center, which opened in The Bobcats have led the MAC in attendance in eight of the past 10 seasons. In two-plus seasons under Phillips, Ohio has gone (.729) at home -- including (.600) in conference games played at the Convo. CAMPBELL TO MISS REMAINDER OF SEASON Senior forward Antonio Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) has suffered a broken bone in his right foot that will require season-ending surgery, Phillips announced on Jan. 19. We feel awful for Tony, said Phillips. Sick to our stomach. We wish him nothing but a speedy and full recovery. We are proud of all that he s accomplished while wearing a Bobcat uniform and thank him for his many contributions to our program. Campbell, who played in 113 games and made 83 starts over four seasons for the Bobcats, ends his Ohio career ranking 22nd in program history with 1,257 points (11.1 per game), 10th with 81 rebounds (7.1 per game) and ninth with 119 blocks (1.1 per game). His career shooting percentage of 53.6 percent (498-of-929) ranks fifth in Ohio history. He tallied 32 career double-doubles. Campbell put together a stellar junior campaign in , earning Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America, National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I First Team All-District 14, MAC of the Year and First Team All-MAC honors. He joined Frank Baumholtz (1941; Converse First Team), Walter Luckett (1975; Helms Honorable Mention), Gary Trent (1995; AP, UPI Honorable Mention) and D.J. Campbell led the Bobcats in scoring with 17.1 points per game (fourth in MAC), a 56.6 percent field goal percentage (237-of-423; second in MAC, 39th in NCAA), 6.8 field goals made per game, 12.1 field goals attempted per game, 10.2 rebounds per game (second in MAC, 21st in NCAA) and 1.8 blocks per game (first in MAC, 59th in NCAA). He also ranked second on the team with 2.3 free throws made per game and 3.2 free throw attempts per game and third with 1.2 three-point field goals made per game and 3.3 three-point field goal attempts per game. A two-time MAC East Division Player of the Week pick in , Campbell dominated in conference play, averaging a league-high 10.5 boards per game and ranking third with 19.1 points and 1.4 blocks per game. His 63 blocks in are the eighth-most in a single season in program history. Campbell was averaging a team-high 16.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game this year. He reached double figures in scoring 11 times this season and put together five outings with at least 20 points. He led the Bobcats in scoring seven times. Campbell also tallied double-digit boards seven times this year and led Ohio in rebounds on 10 occasions. He notched six double-doubles this year. A five-time MAC East Division Player of the Week recipient, he earned the honor three times this season. DE-FENSE Ohio s effort on the defensive end was the lowlight of an otherwise strong campaign. The Bobcats ranked second-to-last in the MAC and 249th in the country by giving up 74.8 points per contest. Through 26 games in , Ohio ranks second in the MAC and 120th in the nation with 70.2 points allowed per game, first in the league and 51st in the country with a 41.1 percent field goal percentage defense and second in the league and 58th in the country with a 32.4 percent three-point field goal percentage defense. The Bobcats have held the opposition to under 70 points in 13 games, coming away victorious in 11 of those contests. RAINING THREES The Bobcats have picked up where they left off last year from beyond the arc. Ohio currently ranks 23rd in the nation with a 39.7 percent (253-of-638) three-point field goal percentage and 19th with 9.7 three-point field goals per game. The Bobcats 253 made treys this year already rank as the seventh-most in a single season in program history while their 638 three-point field goal attempts are good for ninth-most. BOBCATS LOOK TO YOUNGSTERS IN FRONTCOURT TO STEP UP In the absence of Campbell, Ohio turns to two young bigs to fill the void -- sophomore forward Doug Taylor (Columbus, Ohio) and Carter. Carter enjoyed a breakout performance in the victory over Tennessee Tech, logging a career-high 17 points off of 5-of-6 shooting -- including 2-of-3 from three-point range -- in addition to posting five rebounds, a career-high three blocks and his first career steal over 28 minutes off of the bench. BLOCK DOES IT ALL Block does the little things that lead to wins for the Bobcats, such as taking charges and making the pass that leads to an assist. Block, who has started all 26 games for the Bobcats in , is averaging 7.5 points (196 points), 4.3 rebounds (111 rebounds) and 2.2 assists (57 assists). He has reached double digits in points seven times -- including a season-high 15 against Central Michigan. LASTER HEATING UP Laster gave Ohio big minutes off of the bench in Ohio s victories at Buffalo and at Northern Illinois, averaging 10.5 points and shooting 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from the field -- including 57.1 percent (4-of- 7) from three-point range. He came off the bench to score a thencareer-high 14 points off of 5-of-9 shooting -- including a 3-of-6 effort from beyond the arc -- in the win at Northern Illinois. A 6-4, 188-pound guard, Butler has returned to Dorman High School to compete under head coach Thomas Ryan after spending his junior year at Norcross High School in Georgia. He averaged 14 points per game as a junior at Norcross after averaging nine a game as a sophomore at Dorman. Born Feb. 6, 1998, he is the son of Don and Andrea Butler and has a sister, Briana. A 6-9, 220-pound forward, Gareri followed up a sophomore season at Ellet High School in which he averaged 15.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.7 blocks with a junior campaign in which he averaged 22.4 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 blocks per game. Under head coach Mark Fisher, he helped guide the Orangemen to an Akron City Series title in after a sectional championship in A two-time First Team All-Akron City Series selection, Gareri was named the conference s player of the year and garnered all-state honorable mention in He has also competed at the AAU level for Team Work, DB Hoops and OBC. Born Aug. 14, 1998, he is the son of Fred and Shelley Gareri and has a brother, Luke. Gareri has been a merit roll or honor roll student every semester at Ellet and garnered Academic All-City recognition as both a freshman and a junior. A 6-8, 235-pound forward, Vander Plas has averaged 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.8 steals over 70 career games at Ripon High School under head coach Dean Vander Plas, his father. A first team all-state pick and East Central Conference and Oshkosh Northwestern Player of the Year pick as a junior last year, he averaged a career-best 20.6 points and 11.4 rebounds as well as 3.8 assists, 1.8 blocks and 0.6 steals over 25 games, helping to guide the Tigers to their third-straight Division 3 regional crown. A three-year team captain, Vander Plas garnered First Team All-East Central Conference laurels as both a sophomore and a junior after

The Bobcats join in an eight-team field that also features Auburn, Clemson, Dayton, Hofstra, Indiana State, Old Dominion and Temple. NDOUR MAKES NEW YORK KNICKS ROSTER Former Bobcat standout forward Maurice Ndour made the opening night roster for the NBA s New York Knicks. played. Prior to his senior season, Ndour competed for the Senegal National Team in the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. In six FIBA World Cup Games, Ndour averaged 5.8 points (35), 2.5 rebounds (15), 1.3 steals (8), 0.5 assists (3) and 0.3 blocks (2) over 21.3 minutes (128) per game. He helped Senegal go 2-3 and place fourth in Group B play of the 2014 FIBA World Cup, highlighted by an win over Puerto Rico and a upset of Croatia. The Ohio squad matched the team for the biggest turnaround in program history. The Bobcats improved by 13 wins under Phillips after posting just 10 victories in The Bobcats matched the team for the sixthmost wins in a single season in program history. After earning the No. 2 seed in the 2016 MAC Tournament presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com and a bye to Cleveland, Ohio defeated No. 7-seeded Northern Illinois, 79-62, on March 10 in the quarterfinals before falling to No. 3-seeded Buffalo in the semifinals the following day, The Bobcats made their 22nd postseason appearance in program history and advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 College Basketball Invitational after beating Albany in overtime in the first round, 94-90, on March 16 and knocking off UNCG, 72-67, on March 21 in the quarterfinals.
