The Bruins advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in 11 seasons. UCLA finished in sole possession of second place in the Pac-12 s regular-season standings with a 12-6 mark. UCLA defeated top-seeded Arizona in the Pac-12 Tournament title game, 75-71, in Las Vegas (March 15). Sophomores Jordan Adams and Kyle Anderson each secured first-team All-Pac-12 Conference honors. The Bruins 28 wins in were the most by a UCLA team since the squad went NCAA TOURNAMENT The Bruins made their 46th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, having earned the program s highest seed (No. 4) since entering the 2008 field as the No. 1 seed in the West Region. UCLA was one of six Pac-12 programs to make the 68-team field, joining Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon and Stanford. Florida defeated UCLA, 79-68, in a Sweet 16 matchup at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. The Bruins advanced to the Sweet 16 after winning consecutive games against Tulsa (76-59) and Stephen F. Austin (77-60) at Viejas Arena in San Diego. CONFERENCE CROWN UCLA won its first Pac-12 Tournament title since 2008, winning three games in as many days against Oregon (82-63), Stanford (84-59) and Arizona (75-71). Kyle Anderson was named the tournament s Most Outstanding Player, averaging 15.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. The Bruins advanced to the Pac-12 Tournament as the conference s No. 2 seed, securing a first-round bye before facing No. 7-seed Oregon. UCLA won its fourth conference tournament title in the 17-year history of the tournament. BY THE NUMBERS UCLA won at least 20 games for the 48th time in program history. The Bruins have won at least 20 games in 31 of the past 39 seasons (since John Wooden retired as head coach in 1975). UCLA has won at least 25 games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since The Bruins posted their highest offensive output (81.5 ppg) since UCLA averaged 83.1 points per game in UCLA s roster in featured seven players who had scored at least 20 points in one game during their collegiate careers. AT THE HELM In his first season as UCLA s head coach, Steve Alford guided the Bruins to a 28-9 record and equalled the school s record for most victories by a UCLA head coach in his first season in Westwood. Gene Bartow led the Bruins to a 28-4 record in his first season as the Bruins head coach in Alford has guided his teams to at least 28 wins in each of the last three seasons (includes two years at New Mexico in and ). UCLA s 28 wins in were the most by any Bruins team since (35-4 overall record). INDIVIDUAL FEATS Kyle Anderson averaged closer to a triple-double than any other player in the nation. The Bruins sophomore 6-foot-9 point guard finished the season averaging 14.7 points per game, led the team in rebounds per game (8.8) and led the conference in assists per game (6.5) Anderson registered a Pac-12-best 16 double-doubles. Jordan Adams led UCLA in scoring (17.4 ppg) and ranked seventh in that category in the Pac Adams scored a career-high 31 points at Washington (March 6) to pass the 1,000 career point mark... he leads all Pac-12 players with 95 steals, the UCLA single-season record (surpassing Cameron Dollar s 82 steals in 1997). Jordan Adams and Bryce Alford each scored a season-high 31 points in separate games. Alford s 31 points against Oregon (Feb. 27) are the second-most by any UCLA freshman in school history and the most of any UCLA freshman in a conference game. Adams scored 31 points in UCLA s win at Washington (March 6). Kyle Anderson became the fourth UCLA player to ever record a triple-double, logging 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the Bruins win against Morehead State (Nov. 22). Anderson joined Toby Bailey, Jelani McCoy and Bill Walton as the only Bruins to have record registered a triple-double. Jordan Adams (17.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and Kyle Anderson (14.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 6.5 apg) earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors, marking the second consecutive year in which two UCLA players secured first-team acclaim (Larry Drew II and Shabazz Muhammad were first-team selections for UCLA in ). Bryce Alford (8.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.8 apg) and Zach LaVine (9.4 ppg, 2.5 rpg) were among the five players selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Both freshmen played in all 37 games and made one start (Feb. 27, vs. Oregon). LaVine and Alford scored in double figures in 17 games and 10 games, respectively. ALL-PAC-12 ACCOLADES Jordan Adams (17.4 pgg, 5.4 rpg) and Kyle Anderson (14.7 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 6.5 apg) earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors, marking the second consecutive year in which two UCLA players secured first-team acclaim (last season, Larry Drew II and Shabazz Muhammad). In addition, Bryce Alford (8.1 ppg, 2.8 apg) and Zach LaVine (9.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg) were among five players named to the conference s All-Freshman Team. MARCH MADNESS Steve Alford became the 12th head coach in college basketball history to have led at least four NCAA Division I programs to the NCAA Tournament (Missouri State, Iowa, New Mexico and UCLA). He is just one of five head coaches in that group to have won at least one NCAA Tournament game at four schools. The other four coaches to have won at least one NCAA Tournament game at four schools are Jim Harrick, Lon Kruger, Tubby Smith and Eddie Sutton.

UCLA has gone (.942) in 257 games when playing as the nation s No. 1-ranked team. The Bruins have gone in 131 home games as the No. 1-ranked team. In all, UCLA has spent 134 weeks ranked No. 1 in the country (12 ahead of second-place Duke, 122). NOTES ON KYLE ANDERSON TRIPLE THREAT: No player in the nation averaged as close to a triple-double as did Kyle Anderson (14.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 6.5 apg). He was the only player to rank in the top five in rebounds, assists and steals and be among the top 15 scorers not only in the Pac-12 Conference, but in any of the BCS conferences (AAC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC). Kyle Anderson was named as one of 15 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award and for the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year Trophy. In addition, he was listed as one of six finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, presented annually by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to the nation s top point guard. Kyle Anderson became the first college player (NCAA Division I) to have logged at least 500 points, 300 rebounds and 200 assists since at least He became the only Pac-12 player to tally at least 200 rebounds and 200 assists in the same season. Anderson finished the year with 527 points, 315 rebounds and 233 assists. Kyle Anderson (14.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 6.5 apg) became UCLA s first player to average at least 10.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 5.0 apg since Bill Walton finished his senior season ( ) with 19.3 ppg, 14.7 rpg and 5.5 apg. Anderson and Walton are two of UCLA s four players, on record, to have registered a triple-double while at UCLA. As a freshman in , Kyle Anderson became the first Pac-12 player since Bill Walton in to have tallied at least 300 rebounds and 100 assists in the same season. In , Anderson finished with 302 rebounds and 122 assists (Walton had 398 rebounds and 148 assists as a senior in ). MAKING IMPROVEMENTS: As a sophomore, Kyle Anderson showed significant improvement in several major statistical categories. His overall shooting percentage increased by 6.4 percent (.416 to.480) while his three-point field goal percentage improved by 27.2 percent (.211 to.483). K. That marked UCLA s first triple-double since Dec. 18, 1995 (Toby Bailey versus Stephen F. Austin). Since UCLA consistently tracked assists beginning in , the Bruins have had four triple-doubles. Anderson shot a perfect 5-for-5 from long range in UCLA s loss to Utah on Jan. 18. That marked UCLA s first perfect effort from three-point range with a minimum of five attempts since Ray Young went 5-for-5 from downtown on Feb. 22, 2003, in UCLA s loss to Stanford. HISTORIC: For the second straight season, Kyle Anderson became UCLA s first player since Charles O Bannon ( ) to log at least 200 rebounds and 100 assists in one season. O Bannon finished his sophomore year with 201 rebounds and 110 assists (Anderson had 302 rebounds and 122 assists in ). Since UCLA officially recorded assists ( ), Anderson, O Bannon and Bill Walton are UCLA s only players to have accomplished that feat. NOTES ON JORDAN ADAMS Jordan Adams averaged 16.4 points per game in two seasons at UCLA (69 games). Adams, a sophomore from Atlanta, led the Bruins with 17.4 points per game and recorded a team-best 83.6 free throw percentage (158/189). He scored at least 20 points in a team-leading 13 games during the season. Adams 3-pointer with 45 seconds to play against Arizona in the Pac-12 title game (March 15, 2014) snapped a tie and gave the Bruins the lead for good. He averaged 11.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg in three tournament games. Adams was named a first-team All-Pac-12 selection at the conclusion of the regular season. As a freshman in , he earned honorable mention All-Freshman Team accolades after having averaged 15.3 points per game, the second-highest total on the team behind then-freshman Shabazz Muhammmad. Adams set UCLA s single-season steals record (95 in ) after having registered a conference-leading 73 steals as a freshman in (the sixth-highest single-season total in school history). Adams 168 career steals in two seasons rank eighth on the Bruins all-time steals list. The sophomore guard averaged 2.43 career steals per game, the highest average in program history (minimum 60 games played). Adams competed in his first career NCAA Tournament in As a freshman in , Adams broke his left foot in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals (66-64 win against Arizona) and was forced to miss the remainder of the season. Adams underwent surgery and was fully recovered in time for the season. UCLA went 12-1 in games in which Adams scored at least 20 points. He scored 30 points in the team s win against Morehead State (Nov. 22) and had a career-high 31 points in the Bruins victory at Washington (March 7), connecting on 11 of 15 shots (73.3 percent) against the Huskies. Adams recorded each of his three career double-doubles this season. He finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds in the Bruins loss at Missouri (Dec. 7). He logged 12 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to No. 1-ranked Arizona (Jan. 9) and had 14 points and 13 rebounds in the team s win at Colorado (Jan. 16).

PROTECTING THE BALL UCLA finished the season leading all Pac-12 teams in assists per game (17.2), steals per game (9.2), assist turnover ratio (1.7) and turnover margin (+4.1). UCLA committed the third-fewest turnovers per game (10.24) of any Pac-12 team. UCLA s defense forced the highest average of turnovers among Pac-12 teams (14.3). Kyle Anderson (233 assists, 110 turnovers) accounted for 36.6 percent of UCLA s total assists. WELL ASSISTED: Six of UCLA s eight regular contributors had more assists than turovers. For players who averaged at least 1.5 apg, Kyle Anderson led the team with a 2.12 assist turnover ratio. Bryce Alford, Travis Wear, Norman Powell, Jordan Adams and Zach LaVine have each compiled assist turnover ratios of 1.5 or better. POWELL S PRODUCTION Norman Powell concluded the season as UCLA s third-leading scorer, averaging 11.4 points per game. Powell s 53.3 field goal percentage ranked eighth among Pac-12 players. The junior guard from San Diego scored in double figures in 23 games and helped lead UCLA to a 20-3 record in those contests. Powell has played in more games in a UCLA uniform (105) than any other Bruins player from the roster. STATISTICAL BREAKDOWN: A glance at Norman Powell s first two seasons combined compared to the statistics from his junior season... Powell started all 37 games as a junior in N. Powell GP-GS PPG RPG APG SPG MPG FG-FGA PCT 3PFG-A PCT FT-FTA PCT PTS First 2 Yrs HIGH OCTANE The Bruins averaged 81.2 points in 37 games, the program s highest per game offensive output in any season since averaging 83.1 points per game during the campaign. Earlier during the season, UCLA compiled a seven-game streak of at least 80 points scored in victories. That feat had not been accomplished since the Bruins NCAA championship season (streak ran from Feb. 22 through March 17, 1995). TOP MARKS: The Bruins capped their campaign having posted the country s No. 11-best scoring output, averaging 81.2 points per game (second-best behind Oregon s 81.9 ppg in the Pac-12 Conference). MAKING STRIDES After having averaged just 6.3 minutes per game as a freshman last season, Tony Parker averaged 6.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game in The sophomore from Atlanta registered a team-leading 60.2 field goal percentage (109/181) after having made 33 of 61 shots (54.1 percent) in Parker scored at least 10 points in 10 games and grabbed at least 10 rebounds in three games. He registered his first career double-double in a non-conference win over Oakland, totaling 21 points and 12 rebounds (Nov. 12, 2013). HAILING FROM SAN DIEGO Norman Powell has played in more games (105) in a UCLA uniform than any other player on the Bruins roster. Powell s appearance in the Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal against Oregon (March 13) marked his 100th career game with the Bruins. The native of San Diego has made 47 career starts and has played in all 105 games since the start of the season. Powell shot 78.0 percent from the free throw line (96/123), making twice as many free throws than he had in the previous two years combined (entered the year having made 36 of 55). SUCCESS AT THE LINE Travis Wear made 25 of 30 free throw attempts (83.3 percent), registering a career 79.8 percentage (182/228), including one season played at North Carolina. Travis twin brother David, also a senior forward on the team, had a streak of 19 consecutive free throws made from Nov. 28, 2013 through Feb. 8, David Wear concluded his senior season having made 33 of 41 free throw attempts, converting at a 80.5 percent rate. BENCH PERFORMANCES UCLA s Zach LaVine, Bryce Alford and Tony Parker played major roles off the bench. The Bruins bench accounted for 27.5 percent of UCLA s scoring (827/3003). Alford and LaVine finished among the top three in UCLA s all-time freshman three-point percentage list (miminum 1.0 three-pointers made per games played). Alford s 102 assists were the most by any Pac-12 player who primarily played off the bench (averaging fewer than 25.0 minutes per game). 3-POINT PCT.
