The Lady Flames will look to avenge a setback at Radford on Jan. 24. The Starting Five - Liberty s Top Storylines 1) Liberty is starting to play well at the right time, having matched its longest winning streak of the season with three consecutive victories. The Lady Flames have also notched six straight home wins and have been victorious each of the last five times Radford has visited Lynchburg. 2) Liberty is 5-0 in Big South home games thus far this season. Meanwhile, Radford has lost two of its last three Big South road contests, entering Tuesday s game. 3) Radford will attempt to become just the fifth Big South team to sweep the two-game regular-season series from the Lady Flames in Carey Green s 18 seasons as head coach. The Highlanders have not won both regular-season meetings with Liberty since the season, when Radford captured its most recent Big South title. 4) Keyen Green is coming off of a team-high 16-point performance during Saturday s win over Gardner-Webb. The freshman standout is one of eight different players to lead Liberty in scoring during the team s first 10 Big South games, along with KK Barbour, Iva Ilic, Nene Johnson, Ola Makurat, Audrey Rettstatt, Lela Sellers and Sheana Vega. 5) Audrey Rettstatt matched her career high with 14 points at Radford on Jan. 24. The Lady Flames then survived a last-second threepoint attempt by Tierra Huntsman, hanging on for a victory. Keyen Green scored 12 of her team-high 16 points after halftime for the Lady Flames, while Ola Makurat (11 points, game-high 8 rebounds) and Sellers (10 points) also reached double digits. Liberty shot 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from three-point range, but Sellers timely triple was the Lady Flames only second-half three-pointer. Spreading the Wealth Liberty has seen eight different players lead the team in scoring during the first 10 games of Big South play, including Lela Sellers (at CSU), Keyen Green (vs. HPU, vs. GWU), Iva Ilic (vs. PC, at Asheville), KK Barbour (at GWU), Sheana Vega (vs. Longwood), Audrey Rettstatt (at Radford), Ola Makurat (vs. Winthrop) and Nene Johnson (at Campbell). Block Party Liberty has blocked 38 shots in its last five games, moving the Lady Flames to the top of the Big South Conference and No. 50 nationally with 4.7 bpg on the season. Liberty has not averaged as many as 4.7 bpg for a season since New Year s Resolution After averaging 54.9 ppg on 32.5 percent from the field and 24.5 percent from threepoint range in contests, the Lady Flames have exploded for 73.0 ppg on 44.1 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from beyond the arc in 2017 s first 10 outings. What Can Green Do For You? Keyen Green headlines the Lady Flames successful freshman class. The Big South Freshman of the Week on Dec. 5, Jan. 2, Jan. 9 and Jan. 16, Green leads the conference and ranks No. 3 among the nation s freshmen in rebounding at 8.4 rpg. For the season, Green has recorded six double-doubles and three 20-point outings. She is the first Lady Flame since Reagan Miller in to win three straight Big South Freshman of the Week honors and four in one season. Fantastic Freshmen Liberty s seven freshmen have combined to score 59.9 percent of the team s points this season, led by Keyen Green s team-high 11.9 ppg. Four of the team s top five scorers on the year are freshmen. Big Shoes to Fill Five seniors graduated from last year s team, including Katelyn Adams, Sadalia Ellis, Jaymee Fisher-Davis, Catherine Kearney and Ashley Rininger. Adams, Kearney and Rininger each stand 6-4 or taller. The Lady Flames five seniors totaled 4,260 career points and 2,829 career rebounds. In total, Liberty lost 90.6 percent of its scoring from the season. One of a Kind Audrey Rettstatt is the lone senior on the Lady Flames roster. This is the second time in four seasons that Liberty has had only one senior. Jasmine Gardner was the team s lone senior in International Flavor This year s roster includes two foreign-born freshmen, including Iva Ilic (Croatia) and Ola Makurat (Poland).
