2 UNLV WOMEN S BASKETBALL - 40th ANNIVERSARY SEASON CREDENTIALS All requests for working press, radio, television or photo credentials should be directed to the UNLV Media Relations Office via letter or no later than one week prior to the game. Proof of coverage may be required. Requests for season credentials should be made no later than two weeks prior to the start of the season. Credentials will not be mailed. They can be picked up at the UNLV Media Relations Office, Thomas & Mack Center, Room 74. Requests can also be mailed to the attention of Mark Wasik, UNLV Media Relations, 4505 Maryland Parkway, Box ,, NV INTERVIEWS All print, television and radio interviews are to be arranged through Mark Wasik, Assistant Media Relations Director. This includes all coaches and players. Please provide 24 hours notice on all requests to enable the Media Relations Office the necessary time to coordinate such requests. Please do not arrive on campus to conduct interviews without first arranging it through the Media Relations Department. PRACTICES Except for special circumstances, Lady Rebel basketball practices are open to the media. Interviews with players or coaches must be arranged 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE with Mark Wasik, Assistant Media Relations Director. Players and coaches are available after the conclusion of practice sessions. No player or coach interviews will be conducted during practice. Requests to attend practice should be made at least one day in advance. Contact the UNLV Media Relations Office for practice times and locations. GAME SERVICES Complimentary soft drinks and bottled water will be available in a curtainedoff area at the southwest corner of the floor. Additionally, the UNLV Media Relations Office will provide a program, roster card, halftime and post-game statistics and play-by-play descriptions for all working media. Analog and ISDN phone lines are also available for visiting radio. The Cox Pavilion features complimentary high-speed wireless internet access to credentialed media. PRESS SEATING Press seating is available at UNLV women s basketball games for working media only. Seating is limited and should be reserved in advance by contacting the UNLV Media Relations Office. 4 LADY REBELS ON THE AIR UNLV WOMEN S BASKETBALL - 40th ANNIVERSARY SEASON ADAM CANDEE Voice of the Lady Rebels Seventh Season Adam Candee enters his seventh season at the microphone with UNLV Athletics, and his third as lead play-by-play broadcaster for the Lady Rebels after taking over when longtime broadcaster and UNLV Hall of Famer Bob Blum passed away at 91 in Bob s is the true Voice of the Lady Rebels, and it always will be, Candee said upon taking over the full-time playby-play duties. The four years I spent working with Bob were a blessing. I learned plenty, laughed often and loved him as everyone at UNLV did. It s my job to take care of what he built and to make it even better. Candee started sharing duties with Blum on Lady Rebels and UNLV baseball broadcasts in Prior to his time with the Rebels, Candee worked two seasons with the Northern Arizona University men s basketball program, and also served as lead play-by-play broadcaster for prep football and basketball on KVNA-AM in Flagstaff, Ariz. A former Sun sports reporter and columnist, Candee covered the Lady Rebels beat in 2004 and 2005, and also reported extensively on UNLV men s and women s golf. Candee twice was recognized as Arizona sports columnist of the year by the Associated Press, and has received awards for his work from the Golf Writers Association of America, Nevada Press Association, Arizona Associated Press Managing Editors and Arizona Press Club. After attending high school in, Candee graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in broadcast journalism and now lives in Henderson. JESSE VINEYARD Color Analyst Second Season Jesse Vineyard is in his second year as color analyst on the Lady Rebel home broadcasts. He will also serve as lead play-by-play on select home and away UNLV broadcasts. A native (Faith Lutheran High School graduate), Vineyard started his broadcasting career as a student at Northern Arizona, where he was involved in numerous endevaors. He served as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for K-JACK Radio at NAU and was the Sports Director for the station from A 2012 graduate from NAU with a degree in journalism, in addition to his work with the Lady Rebels Vineyard is also a high school football and prep reporter for the Review Journal. UNLV WINS ANOTHER GOVERNOR S SERIES TROPHY Even though the score was closer this time around, the final result was the same as the UNLV Athletics Department was again the winner of the Governor s Series presented by NV Energy and sponsored by Barrick Gold. The Rebels won the allencompassing competition with Nevada, Reno by the final score of 30 to 18. UNLV took the inaugural trophy by the score of 37.5 to UNLV earned its points in the most recent competition in the sports of football, women s soccer, women s volleyball, women s indoor and outdoor track and field, women s basketball, softball, women s golf, men s golf and baseball. Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches and staff in bringing home another Governor s Series trophy, UNLV Director of Athletics Tina Kunzer- Murphy said. 5 MOUNTAIN WEST NETWORK The Mountain West, in collaboration with Campus Insiders and Volar Video, greatly expand the video content and reach of its digital network starting in the fall of Under this unique alliance, the Mountain West will livestream hundreds of its men s and women s sporting events, add branded studio programming, develop sponsorship opportunities and grow distribution on multiple platforms and devices. Every home Lady Rebel game, as well as every road conference game, will be available though the Mountain West Network, which is available at UNLVRebels.com and is free to all fans. HALL LADY OF REBELS FAME ON TV TYLER BISCHOFF MWN Play-by-Play Tyler Bischoll is in his first year as the Play-by-Play announcer on the MWN for UNLV. A May 2014 graduate of Ole Miss with a degree in broadcast journalism, Bischoll has already served as play-by-play on all home UNLV men s and women s soccer and volleyball contests in the season. Bischoff s previous experience includes serving as beat writer for the Ole Miss men s basketball and football teams, while also worked as assistant general manager for Rebel Sports Radio in Oxford, Miss. JAMIE SMITH MWN Color Analyst Former Lady Rebel standout Jamie Smith will serve as color anaylst on the majority of games this season. Currently in graduate school at UNLV, Smith, the MW Freshman of the Year, is one of three players in school history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. For the second time this month the Lady Rebels will host a former Mountain West rival in the Thomas & Mack Center, as Utah comes in for a Tuesday afternoon contest at 4:45 pm. UNLV has already played BYU this season, a loss on Nov. 12. The last time the Utes and UNLV met was also in the TMC, as the teams played in the rst round of the 2011 MW Tournament, a Utah win in which the game was tied with two minutes left. Prior to that contest, the teams had split their previous six meetings. Though UNLV is 2-2 on the year, its losses have come against tough competition, as BYU and Northwestern are a combined 8-1 this year, with BYU receiving votes in both polls as well. All four games this year for UNLV have also come down to the nal minutes, and UNLV used game-ending runs of 12-0 in the win over Santa Clara, and 9-3 in the victory over Bakers eld on Saturday afternoon. A win on Tuesday would give UNLV its 700th win in program history. The Lady Rebels would become the 49th team in NCAA history to accomplish that feat, and just the sixth team in the West, along with Stanford, Long Beach State, Utah, Washington and Colorado.
