1 The GMMT in conjunction with the G.O.A.L of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago Youth and Young Adult Ministries Office will be hosting a Youth Basketball Shootout February 20-22, 2015 at St. Demetrios, Elmhurst. Divisions of play 1 st /2 nd Grade (Co-ed) $50 Entrance Fee / Team 3 rd /4 th Grade (Co-ed) $50 Entrance Fee / Team 5 th /6 th Grade (Co-ed) $100 Entrance Fee / Team Registration Deadline 2/14/15 All teams are guaranteed at least 2 games and all teams participating will receive complimentary GMMT apparel. 2 1 st /2 nd Grade Division Rules of Play Will play with a 27.5 ball Game will be played on 8 foot baskets Defense will be played inside the taped off area until a shot goes up (See diagram below). The goal is to encourage kids to go to the basket to put the shot up. One coach from each team should be on the court. Coach should transition with team to make sure kids are in the correct spot Each player will shoot 2 free throws at half time. This gives every player a chance to score GMMT will officiate the game. Explaining traveling, double dribble, etc No lane violations Clock to run time only. No score will be kept. 2 x 15 minute periods with a running clock Clock will stop at designated intervals to get subs in and coaches can organize Alternate possession will be used. All kids in uniform MUST play

3 3 rd /4 th Grade Division Will play with a 28.5 ball Game will be played on10 foot baskets Defense must be played inside the 3 point line Each player will shoot 2 free throws at half time. Each make will be added to the score. If a team has less players than opponent, the kids with the least amount of points will shoot to even out amount of shooters No pressing GMMT will officiate the game 2 x 16 minute periods with a running clock Teams cannot stall. GMMT official will encourage teams to attack basket before starting a count down from 5. 5 second lane count Subs can be made on the fly. Does not need to be a dead ball situation Alternate possession will be used All kids in uniform MUST play. 5 th /6 th Grade Division Games will consist of 2 x 16 minute periods with a running clock. Five (5) fouls and the player is out of the game. Three (3) Full and Two (2) 30 second time outs per game. DEFENSE shall be played at the Three Point Line or within, until the last two minutes of the 2 nd half when pressing is allowed. Pressing is allowed only during

4 the last two minutes of the 2 nd half. Teams ahead by more than 20 points may not press at all. 3 second lane count Clock stops the last 1 minute of each half, as well as time outs and free throws. Alternate possession rule will be used. Overtime will be Three minutes (clock to stop at free throws and time outs), with the clock stopping at every whistle during the LAST MINUTE. Coaches are strongly encouraged to play all kids in uniform IHSA referees will officiate the games. ***** Rules subject to change. The GMMT committee reserves the right to make final decisions on any and all items regarding the Youth Shootout.
