Start time at Allstate Arena is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The Blue Demons dropped an decision on Wednesday night to Lehigh after opening the season with wins over UIC and Drake. Sunday s game will be televised on FOX Sports 1 with Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) handling the television duties. The broadcast can also be seen on the FOX Sports Go app wherever FOX Sports 1 is available. Thursday s game will not be televised but can be heard on WSCR 670 AM at 7 p.m. Food and Toy Drive at Upcoming Games: The DePaul athletics department is hosting a food drive and a toy drive at upcoming men s and women s basketball games. The food drive is benefitting the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Food Pantry and items needed include canned food or non-perishable items such as: paper towels, plastic bags, canned vegetables, canned fruit, rice, beans, oatmeal, peanut butter bottled water, power bars, cereal bars, canned tuna, napkins, sugar, nuts, ramen, granola bars, dried fruit, hot chocolate mix, powdered creamer, crackers, regular pre-ground coffee and canned soup. Drop off locations will be at Allstate Arena for the Lehigh and games. The toy drive benefits the children of the St. Vincent de Paul Center and begins Nov. 29 at University locations in the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses. Gameday drop-off for unused and unopened toys and games is available at the men s basketball games against on Dec. 7 and on Dec. 14. In three of Oliver Purnell s four seasons at DePaul, the Blue Demons have faced three Chicagoland opponents during the non-conference portion of the schedule. In addition to UIC, DePaul also plays Chicago State and this season. Billy Garrett Jr. Named Second Team Preseason All-BIG EAST: Sophomore guard Billy Garrett Jr. was named second team preseason All-BIG EAST by the league s head coaches. The announcement was made at the league s annual media day at Chelsea Piers in New York City on Oct. 16. The 2014 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year was led all league freshmen in scoring and assists last season. was picked as the preseason favorite to win the conference. The Wildcats were followed by and. Locally Grown: The DePaul roster features nine players from the Chicagoland area. The nine Chicagoland members on the roster include Jamee Crockett (Chicago, Ill.), R.J. Curington (Dyer, Ind.), Cory Dolins (Northbrook, Ill.), Billy Garrett Jr. (Chicago, Ill.), Tommy Hamilton IV (Chicago, Ill.), Myke Henry (Chicago, Ill.), Peter Ryckbosch (Chicago, Ill.), Aaron Simpson (North Chicago, Ill.) and Rashaun Stimage (Chicago, Ill.). Overall, the DePaul roster totals nine players from Illinois and one from Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Texas and Virginia along with the nation of Guadeloupe. Injury Bug Bites Early: Two player on the roster are currently sidelined with injuries. Rashaun Stimage suffered a left foot fracture on Oct. 25 and is expected to miss up to 10 weeks. The Chicago native had surgery on Oct. 29 to repair the fifth metatarsal midshaft fracture in his left foot. Ryckbosch will miss the entire season with a torn ACL in his right knee. The walk-on from Chicago had surgery in the offseason and is expected to miss the campaign. Wilson Chandler Extends NBA Streak to 40 Straight Years: With Wilson Chandler ( ) making his season debut on Oct. 29 against Detroit, he extended DePaul s streak to 40 straight seasons with a former Blue Demon playing in the NBA. Chandler is averaging 9.9 points and 4.7 rebounds through nine games with the Denver Nuggets this season. Bill Robinzine started the streak with Sacramento Kings in the season. A total of 17 players have played over the 40 straight years of DePaul influence in the NBA. In addition to Chandler playing this season for Denver, Tyrone Corbin ( ) is an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kinds after serving as head coach of the Utah Jazz from Corbin played for nine NBA teams during his pro career from WHY BLUE DEMONS? In 1900, when the first athletic team to represent DePaul University was organized, the monogram D was selected for the uniforms. This originated the nickname D-men which evolved into Demons. The blue, which combines with Demons, signifies loyalty and was chosen in 1901 by a vote of the student body. Three Decades in Rosemont: DePaul is in its 35th season in at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. The Blue Demons are (.669) all-time in Rosemont. DePaul played its first season at the then-named Rosemont Horizon in The Blue Demons debuted in Rosemont with a win over Gonzaga and John Stockton on Dec. 1, New Look BIG EAST in Second Season: The BIG EAST Conference features 10 basketball-centric institutions that will continue the tradition of one of the nation s top basketball leagues. The BIG EAST roster includes University, University, DePaul University, University, Marquette University, College, University, University, University and University.

3 The league s conference tournament will be held at Madison Square Garden with television partner FOX Sports providing nationwide coverage of the conference year-around on FOX Sports 1. The conference schedule will consist of 18 games with each school playing home-and-away games against the other nine teams. The BIG EAST Tournament presented by New York Life is scheduled for March 11-14, 2015 at Madison Square Garden. Purnell in Fifth Season: DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell enters his fifth season in Lincoln Park and his 27th season overall. Known as an architect of rebuilding programs, Purnell has led three different schools to NCAA Tournament play while turning around programs at each stop of his career. The Berlin, Md., native started his head coaching career at Radford and compiled a mark over three seasons before accepting the head coach position at his alma mater, Old Dominion, in Purnell led the Monarchs to three postseason appearances (1 NCAA, 2 NIT) and a three-year record of In nine seasons at Dayton, Purnell laid the foundation for the Flyers success and posted 88 wins over his final four years at the Ohio school before moving on to Clemson for a seven-year stint from While at Clemson, the Tigers were a regular in the Top 25 polls while making six postseason appearances. After finishing with a record at Dayton, Purnell compiled a record at Clemson. Only North Carolina and Duke posted higher winning percentages among ACC programs over his final four seasons with the Tigers. Now in his 27th season, Purnell currently holds a career record of In his fifth season at DePaul, he holds a record. DePaul Adds Three For Next Season and One For This Season: DePaul head coach Oliver Purnell announced on Nov. 20 the addition of four members to the basketball program. Oumar Barry, Develle Phillips and Raymond Doby are set the join the program next season while Brendan McMahon inked his National Letter of Intent for the campaign. McMahon is an 11-year-old Chicago native that is the newest member of the DePaul program. He was diagnosed with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy when he was six years old. McMahon signed his National Letter of Intent on Nov. 13 with his newest teammate and coaches. The DePaul men s basketball and softball programs have partnered with Team IMPACT whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team. Barry is a native of West Africa that is finishing up his prep career at Bishop O Connell High School in Arlington, Va. The 6-9 forward averaged five points per game as junior, but the strong rebounding and defensive presence registered multiple double-doubles during the season. Doby renewed his NLI commitment by signing an athletics scholarship tender and joins the program beginning next season. He originally signed a NLI in May 2014 before enrolling at Northwestern Military Academy where he is playing this season. Doby averaged 10.7 points per game at Montrose Christian Academy in with 11 games in double-figures and helped the Mustangs to a 20-5 record. Phillips joins Barry as two Washington, D.C.-area signees for next season as both played on the AAU circuit for DC Premier. The 6-8 relentless rebounder is playing his senior season for Clinton Christian in Upper Marlboro, Md. He averaged 7.2 points to help the Eagles to the Capital Beltway League championship. Clinton Christian also finished runner-up last season in the Maryland private schools state tournament. The facility will be the future home for DePaul basketball. aa nine-member panel consisting of representatives from the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA), the city of Chicago and DePaul University selected the internationally renowned architectural firm Pelli Clarke Pelli to design the McCormick Place Events Center that will include DePaul men s and women s basketball as primary tenants. athe design concept features a sweeping curved roof above four transparent sides that will house DePaul men s and women s basketball along with a variety of civic, entertainment and convention events for Chicago and MPEA. The design endeavors to become a grand urban room, in the great Chicago tradition of buildings like the Auditorium Theatre and the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom. adepaul is expected to host events annually in the facility including graduation ceremonies, which will allow each school of the university to have its ceremony under the same roof. athe location is situated just three L stops from DePaul s loop campus that caters to half of the DePaul student body. The Lincoln Park campus and the remaining half of DePaul s 25,000 students is 10 L stops from the future home of the Blue Demons.
