1 denver broncos 2006 weekly press release Game #12 (7-4) vs. Seattle (7-4) Sunday, Dec. 3, :15 p.m. MST INVESCO Field at Mile High (76,125), Colorado BRONCOS HOST SEAHAWKS; FACE DEFENDING NFC CHAMPIONS AND FORMER AFC WEST RIVAL The Broncos (7-4) host the defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks (7-4) in their sixth primetime game of the regular season this week on NBC s Sunday Night Football. Kickoff at INVESCO Field at Mile High is set for 6:15 p.m. MST. is coming off a loss on Thanksgiving at Kansas City, a defeat that ended its streak of 30 consecutive regular-season games without losing two or more in a row that was the NFL s longest. While the Broncos face the Seahawks following a 10-day period between games, Seattle has a shorter week to prepare for after defeating Green Bay at home on Monday Night Football. Quarterback Jay Cutler, selected by in the first round (11th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, was named the Broncos starting quarterback on Monday and will see the first regular-season action of his NFL career on Sunday. The former Vanderbilt University standout finished the preseason ranked fourth in the NFL (first among rookies) with 561 passing yards while compiling a passer rating. Cutler will be the eighth Broncos rookie quarterback to start a game in franchise history with the previous seven first-year quarterbacks posting a 5-2 record in their first NFL start. He will be the first Broncos rookie to start at the position since Tommy Maddox in The Broncos own a 20-4 (.833) regular-season home record against the Seahawks, including a 12-1 (.923) mark since 1989, and have won their last six home games against Seattle. The Seahawks on Sunday will play their first game in since moving from the AFC West to the NFC West in has won its last nine games against a Super Bowl participant from the previous season and looks to extend that streak against Seattle, which lost to Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XL. The Broncos also have won their last 12 home games in the month of December.
