We hope the winter break was a wonderful time for you and your family and that you had time for a little rest and relaxation! We accomplished a lot during the 2016 school year, so I am excited to see what we can achieve in District administrators and I met this week to review 2016 and spent time setting goals for the remainder of the year. I believe that through our continuous determination and commitment to ensuring that all students are prepared to meet their next set of life s challenges; Palestine ISD students can and will achieve educational and personal success. Thank you staff and students for all that you do each day. We have more work to do, and we ll do it together! Happy New Year!
2 P a ge 2 Wildcat Weekly V olume 5: I ss u e 12 Go Wildcats Athletic Director: Robby Clark Palestine Athletics Ladycat Henderson Tuesday, January 3rd was a good night for the Ladycats basketball program. The JV Team played the Henderson Lady Lions and won with great performances by Chynna Logan and Mashayla Jordan. The Varsity Team beat the Lions with outstanding performances by Dominique Lacy and Destiny Matthews in the frontcourt. Jessie Storment and Jaila Cook played great in the backcourt. Anytime you go to Henderson and beat the Lions who were an area round playoff team last year, it is fuel for the district. Coach Ross Wildcat Van The Freshman Team played a close one against Van but lost by 1 point in overtime. Player of the game was Eric Carthen. The JV Team lost a tough hard fought game. They battled back from an early deficit to make a late run, but we couldn t hold on to the lead. Player of the game was Marvin Sholz. The Varsity Team lost I was really proud of our post play. We will rebound and learn from this game. Player of the game was Quinton Cook who scored 15 points. Coach Johnson Makevian Calhoun Woodman Classic - Player of the Game Wildcat Soccer Congratulations to the Boys Soccer Team for their preseason ranking of #1 in the state of Texas by the High School Soccer Coaches Association. The Wildcats open up their season this Thursday through Saturday (January 5-7) in the Hallsville Tournament. Good luck to the team and thank you to everyone for all the support! Coach Absalom
