Both teams waged a classic double overtime thriller won by the Longhorns in Tallahassee last year (Feb. 13, 2017). FSU held a advantage over the Longhorns with 3:10 remaining in the first overtime but ultimately could not hold on in the end. Ironically, FSU enters its matchup with Texas riding a 10-game win streak for the second straight year, as it also held a 10-game streak going into last year s game. The Seminoles 10-game win streak is tied for the ninthlongest in program history, as they seek to match the program record of 12 straight wins that have occurred twice ( season and season). Aside from last year s game, two Seminoles have strong familiarity with the Longhorns in Texas natives AJ Alix (Houston, Texas) and Imani Wright (Hooks, Texas). Sunday s matchup will be Alix s seventh game against Texas after facing the Longhorns six times with TCU. This will also be Wright s seventh game against the Longhorns, and as a sophomore at Baylor in she averaged 13.7 points against them in three games. Florida State is going for its 15th Associated Press Top 10 victory as a program on Sunday. Since 2015, FSU has taken down five AP Top 10 teams in Louisville three times (Jan. 22, 2015, at home ; March 7, 2015, ACC Semifinals ; Jan. 12, 2017, at home ), Arizona State (March 27, 2015, NCAA Sweet ) and Oregon State (March 25, 2017, NCAA Sweet ). The Seminoles are going for their fourth win this season against a Power 5 opponent, already owning wins against the SEC (84-54 over Florida), Big Ten (94-93 over Iowa) and Pac-12 (77-66 over Arizona State). In those three games, redshirt senior guard Imani Wright (19.7 points), senior forward Shakayla Thomas (19.3 points) and senior guard AJ Alix (17.0 points) have sparked the Noles. Only Florida State and Baylor rank in the Top 3 in the NCAA in scoring margin ( third) and rebound margin ( rd). The Seminoles are going for their sixth win over the current schools of the Big 12 conference. Two of their six victories have come against Iowa State. 8-1 Head Coach Karen Aston (Little Rock, 87) Career Record: th Season Record at Texas: Sixth Season STAT LEADERS SCORING #23 ARIEL ATKINS 14.2 PPG 128 TOTAL POINTS REBOUNDING #31 AUDREY-ANN CARON-GOUDREAU 5.8 RPG 48 TOTAL REBOUNDS ASSISTS #11 BROOKE MCCARTY 4.6 APG 37 TOTAL ASSISTS SHOOTING #23 ARIEL ATKINS 64.0 PERCENT 48-OF-75 1

2 2 Shakayla Thomas will soon become 3 the third Seminole with at least 1,600 career points and 700+ made field goals. She currently has 1,591 points and 693 made field goals. Nearly 76 percent of Florida 76 State s all-time AP Top 25 wins have come under Sue Semrau. She owns 41 of FSU s 54 AP Top 25 victories. Redshirt senior guard AJ Alix has been 43.5 an assists machine this season. She has 43.5 percent of FSU s total assists this season, a share that is tied for the 17th-most among all players nationally. Senior forward Shakayla 93 Thomas is highly efficient from inside the arc. Her 93 2-point field goals made is the third-most in the NCAA. Senior forward Shakayla 29.9 Thomas 29.9 points per 40 minutes is tied for the seventh-most nationally. A win over Texas on Sunday would 11-0 move the Seminoles to 11-0, which would be the second-best start in school history. The best start is 12-0 in the season. Redshirt senior guard Imani Wright 100 became the fastest Seminole to 100 career 3s, doing it in 45 games. The next closest Seminole was Tanae Davis-Cain, who reached 100 in 76 games. NUMBERS AND NOTES RANDOM FACTS Florida State owns 10 road wins over AP Top 25 opponents, including two against AP Top 10 teams. Florida State fans can follow the Seminoles whether on the road or at home on the radio station for FSU Women s Basketball - WQTL (106.1 FM). Every regular season and postseason game can be heard throughout the season, as well as pre-game talk and post-game interviews with head coach Sue Semrau and a few selected student-athletes FSU WOMEN S BASKETBALL ON THE RADIO AT WQTL-FM Massoudi will also be the host of the Sue Semrau Show this upcoming season, which airs regularly on FOX Sports Sun/Florida. Massoudi, who is from Tallahassee and attended Lincoln High School, has also worked as a studio host and halftime analyst for the ACC Network Extra. He gained valuable experience as a student working on video features about Florida State Athletics that were aired as part of the weekly Seminole Sports Magazine show on Saturday mornings on Sun Sports. Ariya Massoudi begins his first full season as the official play-by-play man of the Florida State Women s Basketball team. For Massoudi, who has received both his Bachelors of Arts in Digital Media Production and Sports Management, he gets a chance to work with a program that he is quite familiar with. Massoudi handled fill-in duties last season, calling FSU s win at UAB on Dec. 10, 2016 as well as a win over Wake Forest on Feb. 9, Joining Massoudi will be color analyst Melissa Bruner. Bruner is the women s basketball Director of Basketball Operations and is in her 11th season providing radio and TV analysis for the Seminoles.
