Trailing 10-8 midway through the first, Brunson's three-point play started a 9-0 burst that put Minnesota ahead to stay. The Lynx reclaimed the lead on a Fowles basket but Kristi Toliver's three-point play sent Washington into halftime up 47-45, and a pair of Toliver baskets built the lead to eight early in the third. Back-to-back treys from Renee Montgomery and Seimone Augustus closed the quarter, giving Minnesota a advantage that evaporated when Elena Delle Donne's 3-pointer capped an 11-4 start to the fourth that put the Mystics in front with 5:08 to play.
