1 Battlegrounds is a new League of Legends tournament experience platform that pits you against other teams from your country. It doesn t matter where you sit on the ranked ladder. If you re level 30, just set up a team on the Battlegrounds Website. SETTING UP A TEAM SIGNING UP In order to be eligible for a Battlegrounds tournament, you must firstly have a valid team. After a team is created on the Battlegrounds website, the captain will be given a link to share with all the players that they want to invite to the team. The team captain is the only player entitled to enroll a team in a tournament. It is that person s responsibility to make sure that every member of his team is: Tournament eligible Residentially eligible In compliance with the age restriction Only enrolled in one Battlegrounds tournament at a time Only on one team in the tournament (however they can be on multiple teams if those other teams are not partaking in Battlegrounds tournaments) Every player listed in a given team will be considered a member regardless of whether or not they have played in a game to date, therefore every player must be eligible at all times. If a player fails to comply with any of the above criteria, the whole team will suffer disqualification. To register his or her team, a captain is required to log into Battlegrounds and follow the enrolment procedure. ADJUSTING THE TEAM ROSTER The team roster is the full list of players on a team enrolled in a given Battlegrounds tournament. The minimum size of a team roster is five and the maximum is nine including substitutes. Adding New Players: without a full roster can fill any empty spots between rounds, i.e. after the end of the current round and before the creation of the following round with the generation of the new Tournament Code. New invited players must not have been playing in, or are currently enrolled in, another team for the same tournament.

2 Removing Players: The kick option will be disabled at the end of the registration phase and will not be possible to kick any team members until the end of the current tournament. USING SUBSTITUTES A team may use any of the players on their roster to start a game. Players can only substitute a player in their roster if there is a game restart under the following conditions: Player has hardware difficulties Player has technical / electricity difficulties Player has internet difficulties Under an adjudicator s discretion If there is a game restart, the remaining player roster that started the game must stay on. If there are unauthorised changes, adjudicators can disqualify the team.

3 TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE GAME MODE BRACKET STRUCTURE Summoner s Rift 5v5 Best of One. All the teams will be seeded randomly in a single-elimination tree. Players will be separated in to tiered touranments based on their dynamic rank queue division. The divisions are: UNRANKED TO SILVER I GOLD V TO PLATINUM I DIAMOND V TO CHALLENGER MATCH OUTCOME Match results will be determined by best of one. The semi-finals and finals will be determined by a best-of-three. PLAYING BEST OF THREES IN THE SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS Every team is responsible for playing the requisite number of games consecutively in order to determine the winner of the round. For example, if the match is a best-of-three, both teams should play the two (or three) games needed to determine the winner of the round. The games must be played back-to-back and cannot be spaced out over hours or days. Both teams are allowed 10 minutes from the Victory/Defeat screen until the next lobby should begin. If a longer pause is needed, this needs to be agreed with an adjudicator first.

4 PRIZES The number of teams that will receive prizing in a Battlegrounds tournament will be based off of the number of teams participating in each individual tournament. Similarly, the Riot Points awarded (see below) is also adjusted on the number of teams that sign up to the tournament. Based on the final standings of every tournament, circuit points will be granted to the teams based on the following criteria: For any game played = 10 points For any game won = 20 extra points Placing 5th to 8th = 20 extra points Placing 3rd and 4th = 30 extra points Placing 2nd = 50 extra points Placing 1st = 100 extra points Every team can earn points by participating in one or more tournaments. If a team is eligible to compete in Battlegrounds tournament in multiple countries, it s up to the captain to choose in which one they participate. Only points earned in the same country s Battlegrounds tournaments will count toward a given team s total. Circuit points will be tracked on the battlegrounds website, and additional prizing for circuit winners will be announced later in the year.

5 PLAYING IN A TOURNAMENT Participants are required to display fair play, sporting conduct and knowledge of all the procedures. TOURNAMENT CODE In all the Battlegrounds tournaments, it is mandatory to play every game with the assigned tournament code for the given round. Tournament code will be provided via before the tournament starts If the tournament code does not work then the team captains should log into the chat lobby that has been provided to them via and request the tournament code from the adjudicator that is in the lobby GAME START TIME Once a captain receives information about their next game along with the unique tournament code, they will be responsible for scheduling a game with the opposing team. They will be given the official start time and the latest game start time. Both teams are expected to show up and be ready to play by the official start time. The game may be played at any time before the latest game start time using the tournament code. We recommend that teams be online 10 minutes prior to the official start time to provide enough time to enter the custom game lobby and get ready. Fewer than five members on a team will not constitute a valid team. If a game is played 4 v 5 or similar, the team without a full roster will be disqualified regardless of the game s result. If a valid team is not in the lobby 10 minutes after the tournament start time, the team captain must contact an adjudicator via the game chat lobby that is provided through so the adjudicator can confirm the team has failed to show. Your full team of five must stay in the lobby until this has completed.

6 GAME PAUSES The game pause is an option available in tournaments to handle major difficulties that cannot be resolved during the game. may only pause the game if: There is a major issue to solve There are no fights underway After the game is paused, the opposing team must be notified for the reasons of the pause Any disputes should be handled between the teams during the pause If there is any kind of unfair conduct, teams must make a screenshot and, after the game is over, alert an adjudicator in command of their round After a game in which there was a pause, all the players that played the game must stay logged in for 10 minutes after the game s end to help the adjudicator to understand what happened It is up to the adjudicator to examine evidence provided, and then to either validate the game result, restart the game, or disqualify a team (for improper pause usage). DISQUALIFICATIONS All of the following may result in disqualification upon the adjudicator s discretion: Any team accused and proved to be using any hacks, cheats etc Any team displaying poor sportsmanship or not following the Summoner s Code Any team member may not use language that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libelous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable; or promote or incite hatred or discriminatory conduct, in or near the match area, at any time. Use of a summoner not on your provided team roster Playing without a full roster of five players Account Sharing: Summoners using the original roster s summoner account with a different player playing Impersonation: Summoners not on the team roster changing their summoner name to appear to be one of the players from the original roster and playing in their place

7 Collusion: Intentionally feeding/throwing the game for the purpose of the other team winning Making use of any bugs, bots etc The adjudicator has discretion over any matters not listed above. Full uncropped game screenshots or stream footage must be provided to validate disqualification claims. If disqualified, a team forfeits its right to all prizes.

8 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY APPENDIX TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY Any summoner with an active League of Legends account with the minimum level requirement (30) that is currently not banned can be eligible to compete in any official tournaments. EXCEPTIONS: Individuals specifically prohibited from participation by Riot Games, or anyone prohibited by: the local laws the tournament organizer rules the venue management an Adjudicator an employee of Riot Games Additionally, tournament officials cannot participate in events they are officiating. RESIDENTIAL ELIGIBILITY This tournament is restricted to players who are from, or a resident in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales. In order to be eligible for a residential-restricted event a player must be either: A citizen of that country and able to provide a valid ID/passport A continuous resident of that country and able to provide any scholastic enrolment, long-term employment contract or signed lease Have been temporarily resident in that country for at least 90 continuous days, including the event start date Adjudicators will conduct a residency check at a given point during each tournament. Any team found to be playing with a player who doesn t reach the residency requiremenets will be disqualified for the duration of the tournament, regardless of how many games they have played thusfar.

9 AGE RESTRICTION Battlegrounds tournament are open to any summoners with an age of 18 or more with no specific requirements. Summoners aged 16 or 17 who wish to enter the tournament may be required to have a parental consent form signed before the start date of the tournament. That document will be checked along with the player s passport during the tournament. It is the captain s responsibility to verify that every member of his team (main or substitute) is eligible, within the age restriction (16+) and in possession of all the required documents (proof of residence for the tournament and, in case of minors, signed parental consent form).
