1 2016 Bob Weaver Memorial Ice Bowl Information Pack BOB WEAVE April 21, June 1, 2004 During the winter of 2001, in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, Bob joined with a small group of local residents to form Junior Lacrosse. This core group wanted to give something back to the community so they built the Chargers Lacrosse program on the fundamentals of teamwork, sportsmanship and honor for the game of lacrosse. Bob became the lacrosse program s equipment management officer and was instrumental in procuring all equipment for the club s first lacrosse season. In the seasons that followed, Bob worked tirelessly to purchase, maintain and distribute equipment as the lacrosse program grew. He also acted as the team s trainer and could always be found on the sideline performing any job that had to be done. From time keeping, to stats, to attending to players needs, Bob could always be counted upon to be there for the team. His love for the sport and the players knew no boundaries. He was a committed program officer and positive influence to the players and coaches of the program. Bob s efforts with the program were so great that following the club s inaugural season, the annual Bob Weaver Whatever It Takes Award was created to honor Bob and his passion for the lacrosse program. The Bob Weaver Whatever It Takes Award has been awarded to those individuals who have gone above and beyond for the Junior Lacrosse Program.
