There are no timeouts or injury time. We will stop a game for an injury, but the clock keeps running. This is also important since we have so many games back to back that even small delays can build up and impact all the later games.

What is going on at Immanuel? We have the exciting opportunity to partner with Operation Christmas Child (OCC) and impact the lives of needy children around the world. Now through February 3rd, players and coaches can bring in items for Operation Christmas Child while competing in a contest against the other Upward teams. OCC has requested tennis balls, hot wheels/matchbox cars and small stuffed animals, such as beanie babies. All items should be new or very very gently used. Teams will earn one point for each item they bring in. Items can be turned in to an Upward leader at practices or on game day. At the end of the season, the two boys teams and the two girls teams with the highest number of points/items donated will win a pizza party on Feb 10. Contest standings will be included in the weekly newsletter, so be sure to check how your team is doing. Help Us Keep the gym floors dry! Remember to carry in your court shoes on practice and game days. Upward Jerseys and shorts must be worn for All practices & games. This rule applies for All Basketball players Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your game to meet with your team at your bench.

4 A Note for Parents: Please remember that the Attendance Policy is in effect. Please be sure your players are attending practices and games in order to insure that they and their team get the maximum benefit from Upward Basketball. Inclement Weather Procedures: icsports has an emergency alert texting system to notify participants and volunteers when weather conditions dictate practice or game cancellations or schedule adjustments. This system will also be used on a limited basis to remind the user base of important dates and events. To ensure that you are included in the notifications: If you signed up for alerts at the parent meetings, no action is required, unless your cell phone number changes. If you have not signed up for alerts, or if your cell phone number changes, please send your name and the cell phone number at which you wish to receive emergency text messages to Laurie Cessna at LAC.CUBS@yahoo.com. Without signing up for emergency alerts, you will not receive them, even if you provided your cell phone number in your child s registration. 5 Picture Day UPWARD BASKETBALL Picture Day will be on Saturday, January 13th (Picture pick up day will be on award day, Feb 17) *Be here 1 HOUR earlier than your game is scheduled (first team to have all their players gathered, each hour, will win a prize) *Both team and individual pictures will be taken for every child *If you want pictures, you must order AND PAY for pictures on picture day (another opportunity to order will be given at pick up) Team Picture: $5 for a 5x7 Individual Pictures: $5 for a 5x7 or 1 set of 4 wallets.
