This program is entirely instructional. Players will hit off a tee for most of the 10 game season and gradually move to a coach pitch format during the last three games. Players will receive a uniform and trophy. Scores and standings will not be kept. Practices will begin the first week of April. Become a volunteer coach today contact Jason at ! little ball Age: 5 to 6 Little Ball is for players who have been in the program at least one year. This program emphasizes fundamentals and prepares players for the next level of baseball. Teams will play games and start with a tee to develop timing. As the season progresses, they will move to a coach pitch (three-out) format. There is no draft; coaches and the Athletic Supervisor will organize teams. Practices will start the first week of April. Cost includes uniform and trophy. 3 youth Athletics T-Ball and Coach Pitch Fielding and Pitching clinic In this 3-week spring training clinic we will discuss and demonstrate the proper techniques on how to field ground and fly balls. Participants will learn the proper footwork and arm angles for fielding and throwing. Additionally, coaches will focus on pitching, arm angles, balance, and follow-through. Let s wake up early and shoot some hoops! We will have a free throw and a 3-point contest. Through challenging drills and matches, children will develop the racket skills, coordination, agility, and stamina needed for recreational and competitive tennis play. Children, with the help of their parents, will participate in a pint-size Olympic games during the last class of the session. Events made just for the smallest athletes will include an obstacle course, pool noodle javelin throw, the long jump, soccer ball kick, and relay races. Children will have a blast gaining the proper foundation on which they may continue to build and develop their interest in tennis. Equipment will be provided. Situational drills and games will help them to establish a solid foundation for future development in the sport and build a lifelong love of tennis. Players must bring their own racket and a water bottle. Tennis balls will be provided. Boys and girls will learn skills such as bumping, hitting, setting, serving, passing, spiking and blocking through challenging and exciting drills. Games will be played to work on good sportsmanship and teamwork as well to teach participants the rules of the game. 6 sportskids hitting & pitcher/catcher techniques Prepare for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons. Swing analysis, live pitching and other techniques are a part of this program. The advanced, intermediate and beginner hitters can all benefit from this step-by-step approach to learning. Pitchers work on the form needed to increase the speed of the fastball and protect their throwing arm. Boys learn the rocker step for pitching as well as various age appropriate grips. Girls learn the windmill form of pitching and different grips. Catchers are taught how to help get strike calls for their team. Different techniques to throw out base runners are also included. Fielding pop-ups, balls in the dirt and bunts with the proper form can catch any coach s attention. Bring a mitt, bat and labeled water bottle. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/ softball skills. Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals during the 2018 MLB All-Star Week.
