All 'A' division teams must qualify for competition as outlined in this package. 'B' division - must be non-'a' teams during their season of play. Teams must not have participated in 'A' division in the second half of their season for league play or for league playoffs. 'B' division teams must qualify for competition as outlined in this package. Be a participant in a current league in your area. If there is no existing league in your area, you may still be able to participate with "at large" status ; please contact the Alberta Basketball office for more information. In the second half of the season, have played three organized basketball games (with officials and officials score sheets) against other community level programs. If teams have not participated in a community league, a written request must be sent to psir@basketballalberta.ca to confirm participation. Please include in the submission where the team players are coming from and confirm it s community based status. At Provincials, compete at a level equal to or higher than the level played during their season of play. (for example, an A or 'Div1' team can enter only A provincials; a B or 'Div2' team may enter B or A provincials). The 'C/D' Division is an open division for teams that participate at a 'C/D' or 'Div3/4' level of play. EYBA and CMBA will have a minimum of two (2) spots designated for league representation. League administrators will notify Alberta Basketball with their designated teams. All other declarations will be considered on a firstin basis to fill out the remaining four (4) open spots; registration will be closed once the division is full. Once closed, all new declarations will be added to a waitlist for available spots. Represent a community/town/small city that has held open registration within their community; Meet all other deadlines and criteria as outlined in this package.

2 Registration Fee: $450 for teams with full Alberta Basketball Membership. $575 for non-member teams. Full payment by teams or organizations is required on or before the declaration deadline. Teams who cancel prior to March 1, 2018 will receive a 90% refund. Teams who cancel after March 1, 2018 will not receive a refund. Competitions Format: Guarantee of 3 games. 3 'B' Division Championship - All teams must qualify for competition as outlined in this package, open to Non - 'A' or 'Div 1' level teams. 5 Coaching Requirements: 2018 Youth Provincials - NCCP FUNdamentals is the minimum mandatory requirement. NCCP certified to a minimum of NCCP FUNdamentals level must be completed by a minimum of one (1) member of the declared coaches on the bench. *Please note, coaching requirements to be reviewed for the 2019 Youth Provincial Championships. Declaration Deadline: Monday, February 26, 2018, at 4pm The following must be submitted to Alberta Basketball by the Declaration Deadline: Alberta Basketball Youth Provincial Championships Team/Association Declaration Form,, please your declaration form to nhoy@basketballalberta.ca 2. Registration fee of $ or $ per team by transfer or with a cheque or money order payable to Alberta Basketball. * NEW* Payments may be made by transfer, please send your e-transfer to nhoy@basketballalberta.ca, please use the password basketball Roster Deadline: Thursday, March 1 st, 2018 at 12 noon All team rosters are to be submitted to the administrator of their league of play for confirmation and validity prior to participation at the Championships. Request for roster modification must be presented to Alberta Basketball to be reviewed with their league of play for considerations. NO 'A' players may be added to 'B' teams, 'B' players will be permitted to participate on 'A' teams. A player may be registered on only one roster for participation. The following must be submitted to Alberta Basketball by the Roster Deadline: All organizations must provide: 1. Completed 2018 Alberta Basketball Youth Provincial Championships Roster Forms, one per team, signed by all players and coaches. Roster forms are available at 2. Full payment of declaration fees 3. Confirmation that each team has met the minimum Coaching Requirements, as outlined on page 4. Non-member organizations may also be required to provide: 4. Photocopies of Birth Certificates of all players 5. Three score sheets of at least three organized games for proof of play purposes. Please note that failure to submit any of the above by the deadline will be considered an incomplete declaration and may result in teams being replaced in the tournament with teams on the wait list.

6 Schedules: Schedules will be posted on the Alberta Basketball website by March 2, 2018 as a general draw. Once Zone Playoffs are complete, the schedules will be updated accordingly with team names prior to the tournament (by Tuesday, March 6, 2018).
