NEWS AND NOTES - WEEK TWELVE, 2010 NEWS AND NOTES: Indiana was hanging with Wisconsin early. The game was tied at 10 early 2Q and when Indy missed a 52 yd FG with 5:46 left in the 2Q. QB Chappell was inj d for IU and that was the key to the game. UW went 66/2pl for a TD to make it then Chappell s replacement, Edward Wright-Baker, lost a fmbl on his fi rst snap and UW went 29 yds for a TD then after a 22 yd PR, went 46/5pl for a TD with :21 left in the half to make it and turn it into a blowout. The Badgers 83 pts were the most they scored since 1915 and the most for a Big Ten conf game since 1950 when Ohio St scored 83 vs Iowa. It was the most pts by an FBS school this season...illinois needed a win to become bowl eligible and it appeared they had a lay up hosting Minnesota who came in as losers of 9 straight. Unfortunately, leading 7-0 in the 2Q they would give up 2 TD s and a FG with 1 TD coming after UI was SOD on 4&5 at the UM22. They trailed 17-7 at the half. UI rallied. They got a TD with 10:44 left to lead and Leshoure got a 55 yd TD run with 8:14 left to apparently clinch it UM got a 92 yd KR to the 4 and got a TD with 7:55 left. After 3 punts, UM took over with 2:44 left and converted on 3&10 at their own 20 and went 80/10pl getting a 2 yd TD run with :16 left to pull off the upset...michigan/purdue was played on a rainy, windy day and each team had 5 TO s. UM got a 58 yd FR TD and jumped out to a 14-0 lead. Their 2nd TD was a 38 yd drive after a 9 yd punt. With UM up 14-3 PU got a 94 yd IR TD and only trailed at the half. UM was clinging to a lead when PU got off a 28 yd punt with 5:59 left and UM went 49/9pl for a TD with 1:58 to clinch it. UM had FD and yd edges...vanderbilt had not gained over 240 yards in any SEC game all year but had 242 at the half vs Kentucky. As had been the case all season long, UK played a much better 2H. Joker Phillips was incensed at half and left the locker room 10:00 early telling the seniors they should be embarrassed for their performance on Senior Day and to discuss it among themselves. The team came out fi red up in the 2H and would storm to a lead with 5:32 left. VU got a TD with 2:33 left to pull within 18 but the onside kick went OOB...Kent St had the nation s #1 rush D allowing just 69.4 ypg but Army ran for 233 yards on them...boston College/Duke was an interesting game. BC had a chance to put it away and leading 21-6, faced a 3&4 at the Duke9 when Harris fmbl d for the 2nd time inside the 15 and this time Duke s Campbell ret d it 95 yds for a TD, a 14 pt swing to put Duke back in the game, After 3 punts, Duke took over at their 37 with 4:52 left and went 59/12pl but on 4&gl, fi red incomplete from the BC4 yd line down by 5...Tennessee has won at least 3 conf games every year since 1977 but fi nally got Derek Dooley s fi rst SEC win with their wipeout of Mississippi. QB Bray threw for 265 yds in the 1H with UT rushing for just 7 and UT fi nished with a yd edge. UT led 14-0 when they got a 46 yd IR TD to go up 21-0 and led at the half. They added a 10 yd IR TD early 3Q to turn it into a blowout and in the 2H UM had just 1 drive across midfi eld until they trailed and less than 5:00 remained...dan Persa put together a heroic effort. Northwestern trailed Iowa 17-7 and the Hawkeyes were int d at the NU5 with 10:56 left. Persa led an 85/13pl drive for a TD with 6:21 left then a 91 yd drive and his 20 yd TD pass to Fields with 1:22 left put them in the lead. Unfortunately Persa tore his Achilles on the play and will be out the rest of the year. It was the Wildcats 3rd straight upset of Iowa. Iowa actually had just 4 FD s in the 1H and trailed 7-3 but scored on their fi rst 2 poss of the 3Q for their 17-7 lead. NU fi nished with a FD edge...louisville was without QB Froman vs USF. UL got an 11 yd drive for a TD after a USF fmbl early and USF got a spectacular 100 yd KR by Lamar to trail at the half. USF led and UL got a TD with 1:21 left then USF missed a 52 yd FG. They actually made a 52 yd FG but a time-out was called and they missed it on the fi nal pay of regulation. UL was SOD on 4&1 and USF hit a 37 yd FG for the win...both Miami, Fl and Georgia Tech started backup QB s. UM s Stephen Morris hit yds while GT s Tevin Washington hit but had 122 yds rushing on 21 carries. UM jumped out to a 14-0 lead and had a fmbl ret d for a TD overturned by review and it was 14-3 at the half after UM dropped a TD pass on 3&10 late 2Q. GT did fmbl at the UM6 but UM was SOD on 4&gl at the 1. When GT had a 2nd & 5 at the UM9 and fmbl d, there were hardly any fans left in the stadium in UM s win...ucf jumped out to a 14-0 lead vs Southern Miss but SM would rally to lead at the half and scored TD s on their 2nd & 3rd 2H poss while UCF missed a 30 yd FG and SM cruised to a win keeping the Golden Eagles in the CUSA Title chase...byu dominated vs Colorado St delivering another 4! Key Selection winner on these pages. BYU fmbl d on their fi rst poss but scored TD s on their next 5 poss to lead 35-0 at half. It was 49-3 when CSU went 80/8pl for a garbage TD with 3:07 left. BYU got a 74 yd run to the 5 yd line and took a knee...missouri and Kansas St played an even 1H. Trailing 21-14, KSU went 66/10pl. They had a 1st & gl at the 1 with :22 left in the half when they fmbl d the C exchange and MO rec d at the 7 and led by 3 at the half. MO got a 53 yd FR TD then after another fmbl got a 33 yd FG. KSU had 4 crucial fmbl s. MO extended the lead to early 4Q. KSU got a TD with 6:55 left and forced a punt with 4:28 left. KSU converted on 3&10, 4&5, 3&16 and got a 26 yd TD pass with 1:11 left for the backdoor cover. Both had 22 FD s and the yards were almost even with Missouri having a slight yd edge...west Virginia had a FD edge vs Cincinnati and a yd edge and led 30-3 at the half. Trailing 14-7 UC was int d in the EZ for a TB on FD from the 14. After a punt, WV got a 48 yd TD pass then after a 25 yd PR and pers foul, WV drove 60/3pl for a TD to lead 28-0 and coasted in the 2H...Wake Forest actually had a 9-7 FD edge vs NC State at the half and yd edge. The key play of the game happened at the end of the half. WF went on a 13pl drive and faced a 4&gl at the 2 trailing 10-3 with a chance to tie it, they lost a yard. NCSt scored a TD to open the 3Q and then WF fmbl d a punt on their 17 setting up another NCSt TD and the Wolfpack went on to a 38-3 win as WF had run a conservative gameplan trying to run the ball and shorten the game and did have a yd rushing edge...oklahoma extended the nation s longest home win streak to 36 and got revenge for the previous year s loss to TT. Each team opened with a TD but then OU rolled to a 38-7 halftime lead and 45-7 after 3Q s, even missing a 35 yd FG in the 4Q and fmbl ing at the TT37 late. OU had a yd edge...washington St got their fi rst P10 win since the 2008 Apple Cup and the Beavers lost for the fi rst time in 7 games at Reser Stadium. They now have USC, Stanford and Oregon left and need to win 2 of the 3 just to become bowl eligible. WSU had a yd edge at the half and OSU was booed heading into the locker room trailing WSU led 24-7 and it was when OSU was SOD at their own 38 with 4:47 left and the Cougars tacked on a TD 4pl later...memphis looked like they had a shot at the win with a 10-0 lead at the half but Marshall scored TD s on 3 of their fi rst four 3Q poss to jump to a lead and got a 62 yd TD pass with 6:18 left, up to ice it in their 15 pt win...c Michigan had a FG with :15 left in the half to take their fi rst lead of the game, but Navy battled back to lead with 7:27 left. CM got a TD with 3:04 left and then Navy was ready for the onside kick and kicked deep so Navy started at their 20. They got 1 FD & punted with 1:04 left and CM went 80/8pl getting a TD with :04 left but the 2 pt for the win failed...an amazing stat coming in was that Penn St had never had a TD pass in 8 tries in Big Ten play at Ohio Stadium. Walk-on Matt McGloin got two TD passes in the 1H and PSU jumped out to a 14-3 lead over the Buckeyes. OSU rallied, thanks in part to 34 and 30 yd IR TD s in the 2H. The latter put the Bucks up with 8:02 left. They got the ball with 7:10 left and marched 78/7pl and threw a 3 yd TD pass with 3:59 left for the frontdoor cover...one week after TJ Yates set a school record for passing yards, he had 4 int s and NC turned the ball over six times. NC led VT 10-6 over VT and 10-9 at the half but imploded with 6 TO s in the 2H. The Tar Heels were int d at the VT21. A punt did not appear to hit the returnman but was ruled a fmbl and VT rec d it, setting up a 21 yd drive for a TD. NC had a 1st & gl at the 2 but fmbl d and VT kicked it out of the EZ for a TB. NC was int d at the 2 and int d at the 13 as well and could not overcome 6 TO s in the loss...tcu did have 27-7 FD and yd edges vs the Aztecs. SDSt fell on a fmbl in the EZ for a def TD to lead 14-0 but at the half TCU was fi rmly in control, with a yd edge. The Frogs had leads of and in the 4Q and were at the Aztec13 with 9:05 left when they were int d. The Aztecs went 88/6pl getting a 33 yd TD pass with 6:43 left then after a 29 yd PR got a 35/1pl TD pass with 4:50 left to pull within TCU got 3 FD s getting to the SDS19 where they took a knee...colorado blew a big lead vs Kansas last week and it got Dan Hawkins fi red. Hawkins was very supportive since his son was the QB and was even at the stadium for the game vs Iowa St. Once again, CU got out to a big lead, this time after a 45 yd FR with 11:22 left and they led Iowa St scored a TD with 8:11 left and got to the CU12 where they were SOD on their last gasp with 4:41 left. Cody Hawkins had a 13th TD connection with Scottie McKnight which set a school record for a TD duo...mississippi St was off a bye but Alabama was coming in off a loss. MSU made a game of it early vs the Tide as they settled for a 24 yd FG and it was 3-3 late 1Q. Bama got a 45 yd FG and the team s punted 3 straight times then Bama got a 45 yd TD pass with 7:09 left to make it After a PR TD was called back, on the fi rst play Bama threw a screen to Ingram who took it 78 yds for a TD to lead Bama s fi rst 3Q play went 56 yds for a TD, At the end of the game, Bama got an IR to the MSU22 and from the 3 they fmbl d into the EZ for a TB with :43 left. Bama s last TD drive was led by backup QB McCarron... Continued on page 2

2 News & Notes continued from Front page...20:00 prior to game time, Nebraska played a highlight of Tuner Gill s playing days at NU. The Huskers evidently took it easy on him. Taylor Martinez, who played just 1 play vs Iowa St, was limited by design and had just 11 rushes in the game. NU got a TD with :33 left in the 1Q and a 54/9pl drive then went 75/9pl for a TD with 3:01 left to lead The Huskers had a yd edge. KU was limited to 5 FD s for the game and NU had a yd edge in the lackluster 20-3 win...lsu had been eliminated in the SEC West race prior to ULM and defense got them the margin. In the 1H ULM had a yd edge but LSU led The Tigers had a 32 yd IR TD and they had scoring drives of 14 (after 24 yd PR), 19 (after 34 yd punt), 12 (after 85 yd IR) and 14 (after fmbl) yds to lead 23-0 at half. Their longest drive of the game came after ULM was int d at the LSU23 with 12:46 left as they drove 66/10pl for their fi nal TD to go up For the game LSU had a yd edge. RARE BOWL ELIGIBLE TEAMS: Syracuse got to bowl eligibility in a tight one vs Rutgers where they were actually favored on the road. RU used frosh Jeremy Deering out of the Wildcat and he rushed for 166 yards. It was tied at 10 when RU missed a 45 yd FG with 3:51 left and SU went 66/11pl getting a 24 yd FG with 1:07 left. RU got to their 40 but on 4&17 was SOD with :06 left. RU had a yd edge. ThaJKsgM4MJg ENec.eeK O PQst R D!S for U days888 Thanksgiving Weekend is next week! Call for your passcodes NOW. THE MOST UNIQUE POWER RATINGS IN THE COUNTRY These Power Play Forecasts are the most unique in the country because they are based on Northcoast Sports Private Power Ratings. Our ratings are unlike any computer rating, as we take into account all of the following: Strength of Opponents Individual Units (Rushing Offense & Defense, Passing Offense, & Defense, Scoring Off & Def, Garbage Yds, Weather, Inj s, Home Field Edge, and Successful Unbalanced Attacks). Here is how each is re"ected: Strength of Opponent: Our ratings do not just take the opposing team s overall power rating into account. For example, in 1992, Washington s defense vs the rush was rated at a 110 (From 1-100). They faced Colorado and allowed 183 yds rushing and dropped 12 spots in the national rushing defense ratings. However, Power Plays took into account the potent Buffalo run attack and had forecasted the Huskies yielding 225 yds. Due to the fact they did better than the forecast, Power Plays raised their rating to 112 even though they slipped in the national (straight yardage) rankings. Another example was Michigan vs Purdue in Michigan held Purdue to just 45 yards rushing and improved their ratings in rushing defense in the national statistics. However, our ratings had them rated at a 102 and moved them down to 99, as they should have yielded just 32 yards to an impotent Purdue rush attack. Next time an announcer on TV tells you that a certain team is #3 in the country vs the run you better check Northcoast Sports Power Ratings and see how good a rush defense they really have! The top twenty ratings in Power Ratings for each offensive and defensive category will be listed in each week s issue of Power Plays. Garbage Yds: These are yds that a tm gains or allows in the! nal minutes of a gm when it has been decided. Example, Tm A is ahead 63-0 and allows a 93 yd TD pass vs its 4th string D. These yds are counted in national ratings, but not in Northcoast Sports Power Ratings! Weather: If a game is played in miserable weather conditions and is low scoring, the straight statistics credit the defense with outstanding performances. Our Power Ratings re" ect the conditions and do not give excess credit to the defenses. Injuries: When South Carolina played NC State in 1989, South Carolina QB Todd Ellis was injured on the third play of the game. His backup, who had seen very little action all year, was not prepared and hit on just 4 of 13 passes for 65 yards. The offensive coordinator did not risk any passes. In the national statistics NC State s pass defense MOVED UP 14 NOTCHES. In our Power Ratings they stayed the same, as the low yardage WAS NOT re"ective of an outstanding performance by the defense. Home Field Edges: The weekly projection of yards and points is weighted with the home!eld factored in. Successful Unbalanced Attacks: In 89, Ohio St was held to 127 yds pass vs N western. This dropped OSU in the national passing off ratings & RAISED the Wildcats in the pass D ratings. In our ratings the two units remained rated the same. Why? OSU rushed for 456 yds & DID NOT HAVE TO PASS & when they did they hit 9-11 passes, which is VERY effective. While N western s pass defense looked good in the national ratings, only Northcoast Sports Power Ratings re"ected the TRUTH! There you have it. More than just numbers, THESE RATINGS REFLECT the true strength of each unit and allow them to have the most accurate forecast of yards gained and points allowed in the country! No other rating system takes into account all the previous factors. Next time you hear that a team is rated third in the country in pass defense, just remember, yards are not everything and Northcoast Sports Power Plays will show you how strong the team really is. NORTHCOAST SPORTS PLUS OR MINUS POWER RATINGS The Power Ratings listed below are not based on the Power Plays, they are based on last year s!nal computer power rating numbers with the pluses and minuses from the off season changes factored in. They are then adjusted during the course of the season based on the!nal score of the games that are played on a weekly basis. The Power Ratings listed below can be used for you as a base power ratings to forecast up coming lines and strength of opponents, etc. Once again, they are not based on Power Plays and they differ from what we have shown in recent years, which has been our actual computer Power Ratings. These are Northcoast Sports Plus or Minus Power Ratings. These rankings go far beyond the NCAA s straight statistical ranking of each team. For example last year Bowling Green ranked #3 in the NCAA avg 40.8 ppg, but ranked #39 in our scoring off rankings. However they faced the #114th schedule of scoring defenses. As you can see, the NCAA s statistical rankings can be misleading. In the upcoming weeks we ll provide examples of this year s statistical disparities. These are the current rankings for this year. 5 ILLINOIS " NORTHWESTERN This is one foreacst that we have to throw out. NW s QB Persa was a vital cog to the Wildcats offense and he is now OFY. Illinois is in need of a bowl eligible 6th win and should get it at Wrigley Field. NO PLAY: ILLINOIS 28 NORTHWESTERN 26 NC STATE " NORTH CAROLINA PP has NCSt winning a close one but the yards disagree and so do we. NC is projected with a yd edge. NCSt has struggled on the road against good D s gaining only 239 yds at UCF and 278 yds at Clemson. NO PLAY: NC ST 24 NORTH CAROLINA 22 STANFORD CALIFORNIA " PP does have Stanford projected to win at the number but the yards say it will be closer, Cal has outgained opp s by 160 ypg at home & the 324 yds all d to Oregon LW was 219 under their ssn avg. 3! CALIFORNIA 19 (+) STANFORD 26 UCF " " " " " TULANE UCF has now all d 449 ypg the L3 but that was vs EC, Hou & SM. While PP is calling for TU to gain 356 yds have to think that UCF D will be reminiscent of the unit that all d 260 ypg in the fi rst 7. UCF is off puts up 419 yds. 3! UCF 40 TULANE 22 VIRGINIA TECH " MIAMI, FL Wow, check out the DOMINATING yardage forecast for Miami. The Canes are projected with a yd edge and opened as a HD. UM has outgained their L5 by 149 ypg while VT s stats are padded due to Duke & WF. 4! MIAMI, FL (if dog) 23 VIRGINIA TECH 21 KANSAS ST " " " COLORADO The points say Kansas St but the yds say Colorado with a yd edge. We ll like the Buffs to fi nish strong as they re on their 2nd straight home vs B2B away s for KSU. Col has a solid 20 pt win & yd edge LW. NO PLAY: KANSAS ST 33 COLORADO 29 NEW MEXICO ST " NEVADA Video game type numbers with UN avg 584 ypg at home & having put up 826 yds at Idaho. PP is calling for the Pack to have a yd edge. The forecast is at the line and Nevada has Boise in 6 days! NO PLAY: NEVADA 51 NEW MEXICO ST 13 MEMPHIS UAB " " " The records may seen close at 3-7 & 1-9 but the difference in these teams is immense. UAB s offense has topped 500+ yds 4 times while Memphis has topped 290 yds 3 times. UAB with a yd edge. NO PLAY: UAB 39 MEMPHIS 18 NEW MEXICO BYU " " " We talked about this BYU team jelling and the L2W they ve covered by 30 & 31 pts. The young QB Heaps now has command of the offense with 521 ypg the L2. PP is calling for BYU to have a yd edge. 4! BYU 44 NEW MEXICO 10 NOTRE DAME ARMY ND used the bye to refocus and snap a 2 game losing streak. Big edge to the Irish having seen the option 3 games ago and PP is calling for ND to have a yd edge. ND will be excited to play in Yankee Stadium. 3! NOTRE DAME 32 ARMY 19 PITTSBURGH " USF PP has the Panthers winning by 3 pts which is right at the line. We lean with the home dog off a confi dence building win that is allowing only 264 ypg at home. A USF win puts the BE standing in a log jam. NO PLAY: PITTSBURGH 26 USF 23 HOUSTON " SOUTHERN MISS PP is calling for SMiss to fi nish with a yd edge but they ve struggled at home losing to both UAB & EC and are dealing with an off-fi eld tragedy. UH has been a conf AD TWICE in 3 years winning both SU. NO PLAY: SOUTHERN MISS 38 HOUSTON 34 OKLAHOMA " BAYLOR Not surprised that the potent OU off is forecasted to gain 526. PP thinks BU can move the ball but OU held TT, A&M, Col & Tex to 102, 73, 81 & 100 yds under their ssn avg. Bears are 3-11 ATS as a conf HD. 3! OKLAHOMA 40 BAYLOR 27 NEBRASKA " " " TEXAS A&M Neb has avg just 336 ypg the L2 with a banged up QB Martinez which has affected the PP numbers. We ll back the Huskers and their D which allowed 87 total yds LW vs an Aggies D that is all g 407 ypg in conf play. NO PLAY: TEXAS A&M 28 NEBRASKA 21 WEST VIRGINIA LOUISVILLE " PP is calling for UL to fi nish with a yd edge. The Cards may still be without QB Froman but their D is improved all g 13 FD s & 241 ypg. Despite only scoring 13 at UConn WV s off has put up 417 ypg the L2. NO PLAY: WEST VIRGINIA 17 LOUISVILLE 16 USC OREGON ST " OSU has lost and been outgained in 3 of their L4 gms incl LW as a 24 pt HF. USC continues to play hard and PP is calling for the Trojans to fi nish with a yd edge. OSU has pulled home upset vs SC L2 times. 2! USC 30 OREGON ST 24 MISSISSIPPI LSU " " " " " LSU now fi nds themselves #5 in the BCS which means added pressure. PP is calling for LSU but we disagree as Miss HC Nutt is a master vs ranked teams and HC MIles is ATS as a conf HF here. NO PLAY: LSU 39 MISSISSIPPI 12 UTAH " " " " SAN DIEGO ST Let s look at SDSt s loss at TCU. The Frogs had allowed 188 ypg TY to MWC opp s and a TOTAL of 23 pts. The Aztecs gained 304 yds & had 35 points. Utah still is struggling with the bubble burst & we ll back the underrated HD. 4! SAN DIEGO ST 31 (if dog) UTAH 31 SAN JOSE ST HAWAII " San Jose continues to battle but despite late leads the L2 has come up short. Hawaii ran into the Boise buzz saw but returns home were they avg 501 ypg & outgain opp s by 170 ypg. UH with a yd edge. 4! HAWAII 42 SAN JOSE ST 6 TROY SOUTH CAROLINA As we mention often PP can not forecast emotion and this is the biggest fl at spot on the board. SC was crowned the East Champ after knocking off Florida and have instate rival Clemson on deck. We ll pass. NO PLAY: SOUTH CAROLINA 48 TROY 18 FLORIDA ATLANTIC TEXAS " Six weeks ago Tex knocked off Neb & was ranked #19. Now after 4 losses they stand at 4-6. The Longhorns D allowed 520 yds LW to OSU but had allowed 269 ypg prior. PP is calling for UT with a yd edge. NO PLAY: TEXAS 26 FLORIDA ATLANTIC 5 ARKANSAS ST " NAVY PP is calling for Navy to have a yd edge but we ll repeat the angle again: YOU ARE 17-0 ATS PLAY- ING ON NAVY AS A DOG OR FAV OF 3 OR LESS AND AGAINST THEM AS A FAV OF 3 OR MORE. NO PLAY: NAVY 40 ARKANSAS ST 26 MIDDLE TENNESSEE " " " " " WKU WKU may have lost 26 in a row but in their L4 they ve won twice & in a 1 pt loss to FAU had a yd edge. Talk about line valueas MT came into the year after a Bowl win and can make it back to the postseason if they win out. NO PLAY: WKU 28 MIDDLE TENNESSEE 24 FIU LOUISIANA " FIU controls their own destiny and deservedly so. The Panthers totaled 668 yds (Florida had 663 vs Troy LY) in a win (1st time TU all d 50+ at home s/ 61). They continue on towards a SBC crown. NO PLAY: FIU 36 LOUISIANA 27 NORTH TEXAS ULM Impressive late season fi nish for NT after fi ring their HC and having multiple QB s injured. Their offense has improved in each of the L4W and they ve rushed for 251 & 2.6 ypc the L3. PP is calling for the upset here. 4! 6 P3O FOOTBALL NO6EMBE3 18t: TH3' NO6EMBE3 22t:, 2010 Power Plays is based upon statistical numbers & rankings that are used to develop the projections you see here. As with all types statistical information the more numbers that one inputs ordinarily the stronger the accuracy of the results. Therefore, one would expect the projections to be more reliable after a number of weeks worth of stats are input. The numbers in parenthesis are a comparison of the teams rankings (Visitor, visitors offense ranking vs home defense ranking, Home home offensive ranking vs visitor defensive ranking) over each teams last 4 games. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18th CHICAGO #5 MIAMI #29 (CHI #27 vs MIA #8, MIA #21 vs CHI #7) - CHI comes in off a huge win vs MIN where they outclassed them in every way. MIA is off a pyrrhic victory losing both Henne (leg) & Pennington (shoulder) possibly for the year. A bigger concern though is a shoulder injury to LT Long. Thigpen does have starting experience (1-10 SU 6-5 ATS) & his playstyle fi ts right in with the Wildcat & what they wanted Pat White to do. MIA does have a good defense vs a CHI team travelling off a short week & shouldn t be written off. This is a No Play as we need to see the injury reports for both teams. NO PLAY: DOLPHINS 22 BEARS 15 SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21st OAKLAND #14 PITTSBURGH #2 (OAK #7 vs PIT #15, PIT #19 vs OAK #2) - PIT faced NE without the left side of their OL & as expected struggled to deal with the blitz giving up 5 sacks. 265 of their 387 passing yds came in the 4Q when they were down 20. OAK is 0-7 SU & ATS after a bye but will have lots of confi dence after 3 good wins & they did win as a 14.5 pt AD here LY with a lesser team. This is a No Play until we get a better handle on the state of the PIT OL & Wards concussion status. NO PLAY: STEELERS 22 RAIDERS 21 HOUSTON #23 NY JETS #7 (HOU #8 vs NYJ #3, NYJ #4 vs HOU #29) - Instead of running out the clock & going to OT LW HOU fumbled at midfi eld. This set up a tipped Hail Mary on the fi nal play that gave JAX the win & HOU is in another midseason slump (1-4 SU & ATS) that could cost them a playoff spot. The Jets are the 1st team to win B2B OT games on the road in NFL history. They had a yd edge & now get a beat up HOU team on the road for the 2nd straight week. PP gives NY a 132 yd edge & more than enough for the win here. Despite going all of OT for the win the Jets defense was only on the fi eld for 59 snaps & we agree with PP here. 4! JETS 33 TEXANS 16 BALTIMORE #25 CAROLINA #12 (BAL #12 vs CAR #16, CAR #32 vs BAL #25) - BAL s defense isn t as intimidating as previous units but they are better than most. They have 3 extra days to stew over giving up a 7 play/80 yd drive TD drive in just 45 sec that cost them the game. CAR has only scored 9 offensive TD s on 110 drives TY & 12 of their L15 giveaways have resulted in opposing pts. CAR lacks the talent & experience to rally from a big defi cit & with the rookie wall due to hit the youngest team in the NFL vs physical Ravens team we agree with PP here. 3! RAVENS 30 PANTHERS 10 WASHINGTON #8 TENNESSEE #13 (WAS #24 vs TEN #20, TEN #25 vs WAS #23) - WAS is off a big MNF rematch vs PHI & get a TEN team off a surprise loss to MIA. Moss only had 1 rec for 26 yds in a quiet debut & Collins left with a calf injury. TEN was unprepared to deal with the Wildcat or a mobile QB with Thigpen after knocking out the top 2 QB s. PP calls for a very even game here & without a line due to MNF this is a No Play. NO PLAY: TITANS 27 REDSKINS 21 DETROIT #1 DALLAS #19 (DET #19 vs DAL #32, DAL #23 vs DET #10) - Kitna goes up against his former team as both teams prep for their Thanksgiving games. DAL snapped a 5 game losing streak by responding to a stricter interim HC with Garrett. However both of their starting CB s (Newman & Jenkins) left due to injuries. DET reset their own NFL road losing streak at 25 vs BUF LW playing in poor weather in their 1st road game in a month. PP calls for DET to pull the upset but we think Garrett can fi nally get the Cowboys to play up to their talent level here. The side is a No Play but the Over is worth a small look here. NO PLAY: LIONS 29 COWBOYS 22 1!: LIONS/COWBOYS: OVER GREEN BAY #27 MINNESOTA #18 (GB #18 vs MIN #12, MIN #4 vs GB #14) - MIN was beat up in all phases LW vs CHI in what Favre called a must win game. They may not have Harvin (left ankle) here as he hurt himself at the start of the 2H. GB will be refreshed after their bye week which helped their injury report greatly. PP calls for GB to pull the outright upset here but we dont agree here. MIN s defense feeds off the crowd noise (+92 ypg, 70% comp by Favre), they were 2 bad offi ciating calls that kept them from beating GB on the road despite Favre s mistakes & they know they have no margin for error. This is a No Play. NO PLAY: PACKERS 25 VIKINGS 17 BUFFALO #17 CINCINNATI #31 (BUF #11 vs CIN #18, CIN #22 vs BUF #21) - BUF got its 1st win of the year at home in poor weather vs the worst road team in NFL history playing with a 1 armed QB. CIN is off B2B losses to a pair of quality foes as they struggle to run the ball (-36 ypg 0.4 vs LY) & rush the passer (1 sack every 34 att vs 16 LY). PP gives CIN a 163 yd edge but has this right around the line for a team that is 0-7 ATS as a HF so No Play. NO PLAY: BENGALS 24 BILLS 18 S"#$S & 'ins!"#$%&'(# ) *+,,-#./0# 1 2/34/-5# 1 S"#$S & +osses 6'--,(%"/# ) STREAKERS 7/+%4'-/# 1 8%&("%-# 1 9/-(/(#7'"0# 1 T/TA+S & /vers :/44/(# ; <"4/-"/# ) 74,=,4/-5# ) >?#*'/-"(# ) <+'C%-/# 1 >,D#E-F4/-5# 1 G/H3(%-='44,# 1 I/JB/#./0# 1 I,--,((,,# 1 T/TA+S & 3n4ers.&KK/4%# 1 7A'H/F%# 1 6 CLEVELAND #4 JACKSONVILLE #10 (CLE #28 vs JAX #26, JAX #15 vs CLE #22) - CLE has run the gauntlet of 4 teams with a combined record of while JAX L4 foes are The Browns defense was on the fi eld for 91 plays (60-65 is avg) & 2 Def starters (LB Fujita, CB Brown) are unknown here. JAX is off one of the luckiest wins of the year with a Hail Mary tip which they don t really practice. This is the game to really evaluate McCoy vs a bad pass defense as he should be able to go thru all his reads (#1 rusher Kampan IR) in a good weather venue. JAX is just 2-10 ATS as a HF & PP calls for them to lose outright to CLE here. We agree but CLE s injury situation is a concern though the Over is interesting here. 2! BROWNS 28 (+) JAGUARS 20 ARIZONA #6 KANSAS CITY #11 (ARZ #29 vs KC #19, KC #2 vs ARZ #31) - KC is livid after B2B Div road losses getting blown out by DEN 35-0 at the half. They now have a great matchup at Arrowhead (3-1 ATS TY) vs an ARZ team that has given up 490+ yds the L2W. KC has the coaching edge with DC Crennel vs Anderson (6.2 ypa 54% 2-4 on road TY) as he used to be his HC in CLE. PP calls for KC to have a 207 ypg edge & we think their #1 rush attack will get their 5th 200 yd rush effort here in a big win. 3! CHIEFS 34 CARDINALS 20 SEATTLE #3 NEW ORLEANS #16 (SEA #31 vs NO #1, NO #3 vs SEA #27) - The L4W stats to here show NO with a massive edge on both sides of the ball vs a SEA team that will be travelling 500 miles longer than SEA to London UK over the L2W. Hasselbeck broke a bone in his non-throwing hand & will face a healthy Saints defense that is pulling in 1 sack every 12 pass att s at home. Look for Brees gets his rhythm in the 2H & pull away big. PP calls for NO to have a 231 yd edge here. DD Fav s are 3-7 ATS TY but the talent, situation & PP all agree here for a play. 3! SAINTS 30 SEAHAWKS 14 ATLANTA #24 ST LOUIS #26 (ATL #10 vs STL #5, STL #30 vs ATL #24) - ATL has extra rest off LW s Thur Nite win vs BAL. ATL has established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFC TY. They have only won by DD s once on the road TY & that was off a Delhomme fumble vs CLE at the end of the 1H. STL is off a tough loss to SF in OT where they held them to 0 for 11 on 3rd Dns. STL has the #10 defense at home TY (264) & are +6 TO s there also. PP thinks the yardage will be close (21 yds diff) with 3 TO s by STL being the difference & this is a No Play as we like the Rams toughness at home TY (4-1 ATS). NO PLAY: FALCONS 24 RAMS 17 TAMPA BAY #15 SAN FRANCISCO #21 (TB #16 vs SF #9, SF #17 vs TB #13) - TB easily handled CAR LW & now have to travel cross country vs SF off a home OT win. Its very surprising that a young TB team is 4-0 SU & ATS on the road. SF is only 2-5 ATS as a fav TY & the coaching staff is still unsure on how best to employ Troy Smith. Freeman s road QBR is 8.3 pts better than his home & his 6 4th Qtr comeback wins make him very dangerous. PP gives SF a 3 pt edge here which is right at the line for a No Play. NO PLAY: 49ERS 25 BUCS 22 INDIANAPOLIS #30 NEW ENGLAND #9 (IND #14 vs NE #28, NE #26 vs IND #17) - IND survived an off day by Manning (185 yds 56%) in his 1st sub-200 game (no rest) in almost 2 years. IND does have the #28 road defense (#7 at home) but the Colts are used to playing at the Razor. NE got right vs PIT LW after losing to CLE with Brady tossing 350 yds (70%) & 3 TD s. There is no line yet due to SNF & a slew of IND injuries so this is a No Play. NO PLAY: PATRIOTS 30 COLTS 23 NY GIANTS #28 PHILADELPHIA #20 (NYG #1 vs PHI #10, PHI #6 vs NYG #4) - PHI is off LW s MNF game vs WAS. PHI has won 4 consec meetings SU & ATS & get a wounded Giants OL on the road here. It remains to be seen if Vick can stay healthy vs a physical & disciplined defense though who were embarrassed by DAL at home in a sloppy game. With no line due to MNF this is a No Play. NO PLAY: EAGLES 31 GIANTS 27 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd DENVER #22 SAN DIEGO #32 (DEN #13 vs SD #6, SD #9 vs DEN #30) - DEN rolled KC LW with a 35-0 lead at the half. They also upset the Chargers in SD on MNF as a 3.5 pt AD. SD could have their entire WR unit here with Jackson back next week. We need to see the injury report before making a play here so No Play. Don t miss out on Monday Night Magic! We are offering a MONEY BACK PLUS Guarantee on MNM through the Northcoast Debit Card System - take advantage on Monday night after 3:00 pm EDT!
