Welcome back! I hope everyone had a special holiday break and returned to school this week feeling refreshed and ready for the 4th six weeks and a successful second semester. A new year means a fresh start and the perfect opportunity to set new goals or refresh goals that we haven t quite reached. Sometimes improvement takes time and we may not be able to accomplish every goal according to the timeline. Aiming for progress, rather than perfection allows us to celebrate achievements and continue persevering towards our goals. Thank you staff and students for a great 2017 and best wishes to everyone in The Ladycat and Wildcat Basketball teams traveled to Dallas on January 5th to play a game at the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks. The teams were thrilled to play the Tatum Eagles on the same court where the NBA stars play. Following their games, the high school teams enjoyed watching the Dallas Mavericks play the Chicago Bulls. Team members and coaches had an amazing time, and the players will always remember their time on the Dallas Mavericks home court. Palestine ISD will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday, January 15th. The district will reopen on Tuesday, January 16th. Palestine ISD has about 50 students from grades K-6 in the Ball Handlers of Palestine this school year. These participants have been working hard to perfect their ball handling skills since early October. The BOP performances are set to music allowing the participants to display many different ballhandling skills. BOP performed at several high school games and the advanced group performed at halftime of a UT Tyler game. GO WILDCATS!
