7 M.J. Tineo: Consistently one of the best bats in the Nation. Hits both for Average, and Power. Looks to further his resúme and earn another position on an All-American team. Alex Munns: Awards speak for themselves. Three year starter, three year All-Conference. Consitently one of the best bats, and best gloves on the team. Looks to be the leader on the field. Austin Jones: Powerful bat, hits for high average. Looks to be the toughest out in the NCBA this season. David Clayton: After having an All-Conference season in 2014, David took a couple years off and was able to get going late in the 2017 season. Looks to continue building upon the 2017 season and hit for higher average, and higher power, he has the tools and abilities to do so. Michael Kress: Easily the best fielder on the team. Hits for high average, with surprising power. Looks to continue hitting for average, and being the leader in the middle infield. Pete Nielsen: Has been given the reigns as the #1 pitcher. After a ton of success throughout 2017 and a stellar Fall, he looks to build upon that success and aims to be the best in the Nation. Brodie Larsen: New addition to the team. Looks to make a splash in the pitching department and will be pushing to be the teams best pitcher. Dallan Larsen: New addition to the team. Great arm, great bat, plays every position. Looks to be the top contributor at whatever position he is asked to play. 8 2018 Season Outlook: This year Utah State features the return of 13 players from the 2017 season in which we won Conference (14-1), Region (3-0), and made an apperance to the NCBA World Series (1-2). Out of those 13 players there are 6 returning starters (see Award Winners above), and several others that contributed immensley out of the bullpen, and also several that contributed key at-bats. We look at this year as a continuation from last year, we may have lost several of the top players in the Nation to graduation, but we have added several great bats, and great arms to make up for those loses. Several new additions to the team will make the pitching staff deeper than we have had it in years past, and several new hitters will make our offense more consistent, and explosive than it was last year. The outlook is the same for this season, as it has been before, to win a National Championship. We feel that we have the players, and coaches to push this team to the next level to compete on the final day of the season for a National Championship.
