WHEN: Saturday, March 19 at 4:00 p.m. WHO: Women s Gymnastics teams from ARI- ZONA, ARIZONA STATE, CALIFORNIA, ORE- GON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA, and WASH- INGTON will all compete with one last chance to show the rest of the country what they are made of 2011 CONFERENCE AWARDS Conference awards for Gymnast of the Year, Freshman/Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year will be handed out at the conclusion of the Pac-10 Championship meet. Also during this presentation, the recipient of the 2011 Pac-10 Women's Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, presented by Toyo Tires, will be named. Nominees must hold senior standing and be on track to receive a degree, possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and participate in at least 50% of scheduled contests. All- Conference teams will be announced on Tuesday, March 22. The Cats earned a season high score of , followed by BYU with a , University of New Hampshire with a , and DII s No. 1 Texas Women's with a The Wildcats made a strong showing on the first and last events posting two scores of 49 or better. Deanna Graham led the Wildcats earning a career high score of on vault. Graham also earned a score of on floor taking first in the event. ARIZONA STATE: In the final home meet of the season the Arizona State women's gymnastics team beat the Bridgeport Purple Knights In her debut all-around performance, sophomore Nickie Johnson took first place with a score of , and senior Beaté Jones took second place with a score of The Gym Devils started strong on vault scoring a season high team score of Jones led the Sun Devils earning a season high score of to finish in second place. Arizona State also had a strong showing from Madison Snowden. The junior earned a careerhigh score of on the floor exercise. CALIFORNIA: California continued its late-season surge with a victory at a quad meet in Philadelphia, earning wins over Penn, Temple, and Southern Connecticut State. The Bears had their second highest score of the season, a , winning three of the four events. This came one week after the Bears scored a in their final home meet of the year, a quad against Stanford, Oregon State and Denver. Though the Bears finished fourth in the meet, the score was the highest score by a Cal team since March 23, 2007 when the team earned a in a quad meet against Sacramento State, UC Davis, and San Jose State. Cal scored or higher on all four events, with season-high team totals in two of the four events. OREGON STATE: Oregon State seniors Becky Colvin and Jen Kesler went out with a bang on Senior Night against No. 6 Utah with a win over the Utes. It was Oregon State s first win against Utah in the last 10 tries dating back to OSU fell behind in the first rotation but cut the deficit in the second and overcame the Utes heading into the final rotation. Oregon State hit 23-for- 24 on its routines, as Britney Ranzy scored 9.90 on the vault and Leslie Mak tied her career-high of on the beam to win their events.. STANFORD: Stanford completed their regular season two weeks ago and head into the Pac-10 Championships ranked No. 3 in the Country. The Cardinal welcomes the return of fifth-year senior Allyse Ishino, who missed the past two meets because of injury, and boasts the national leader on the floor excercise in sophomore Ashley Morgan. Stanford has won five Pac-10 titles and eight conference championships in all, but is seeking its first since UCLA: UCLA ended the regular season on a high note, recording its highest road score of the season in a win at Cal State Fullerton. Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs won the all-around with a 39.5 and also earned first-place finishes on vault with career-high tying 9.95 and beam with a score of Tauny Frattone tied Hopfner-Hibbs for first on vault as she also tied her career-high score, winning the event for the seventh-straight meet. Brittani McCullough captured first-place on floor with a season-high score of 9.925, and Samantha Peszek won bars with a 9.9. WASHINGTON: Washington seniors Haley Bogart, Kristen Linton and Sam Walior competed in their final meet at Alaska Airlines Arena on March 11, guiding the Huskies to two wins over Air Force and Seattle Pacific. UW posted a team-score of On vault and bars the Huskies posted score of 49+. Freshman Aliza Vaccher won the all-around, tying her career-best score of The Huskies placed at least one-through-three on every event as junior Amanda Cline won her fourth vault title of the season, tying her career-best for a third-straight week with a Junior Ruby Engreitz and Walior tied for the bars title with s. 4 Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA junior Deanna Graham has been awarded Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week, for the week of Mar Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Deanna Graham was one of the key figures in Arizona s win over BYU, New Hampshire, and Texas Western. Graham, a junior from Tucson, Ariz., helped the Wildcats end the regular season with a bang, as Arizona earned a new season high score of Graham anchored the first rotation with a career-high score of to catapult the Cats to an early lead of Graham also finished first on the floor exercise earning a score of 9.875, and tied for third on bars as the Wildcats were just.01 shy of a 49, totaling a Graham s scores enabled her to post a season high all-around score of only 0.05 shy of her career high total. This is Graham s second career Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honor and 13th in Arizona history. Pac-10 Special Performer of the Week WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA junior Tauny Frattone has been awarded Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week, for the week of Mar. 7-13, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Junior Tauny Frattone won vault for the seventh consecutive meet, tying her career-high with a 9.95 after sticking her Yurchenko half on, front pike off vault. Frattone help led the Bruins to a season-high vault score of , the Bruins highest vault score since Feb. 22, 2009 at Nebraska. The native of Lake Forest, Calif., leads the team with a vault average, and has scored 9.9 or better in four of her last five meets. Frattone also had a strong performance on beam, tying her career-high with a 9.85 as the last competitor of the day to help the Bruins get over 197. UCLA s team score of was its highest away score of the year and secondhighest overall this season. The Special Performance of the Week nod is Frattone s second of her career and UCLA s 16th alltime.
