LAST MATCH Brian scored a hat trick in the first half to give Lansing United a lead they wouldn t relinquish, eventually defeating the Cincinnati Saints 4-1. scored in the 18th, 30th, and 34th minute for a natural hat trick. Greg scored his first of the season in the 80th minute to answer a goal scored by the Saints Andre Sharp five minutes earlier. Ian McDonald-Wilkins got the start in net and made three saves. Saints GK Jamie Starr made 10 saves. CUNNINGHAM GETS HIS GOAL(S) s 18th minute strike was his first goal of the season withnumbers two and three shortly following. He had previously had the most shots of anyone on the team without scoring. His hat trick was the second in club history. Matt had the first back on May 18 vs. the Stars. Due to s one-match suspension, wore the captain s armband. OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION Friday night featured the club s best offensive performance of the season. United s four goals tied for the most in a single game with its four goal effort against the Stars on May 18. The club s 25 total shots was seven more than the previous single game high of 18 set vs. AFC Cleveland on June 6. Tyler had seven shots, matching the most in a game this season (also set by against AFC Cleveland). Four of s five shots were on net (three went in the net). SHOT PARTY Eleven different Lansing United players registered a shot on Friday night (as follows): (7), (5), Prud homme (2), Hill (2), Mateo (2), VanderLaan (1), (1), Finnerty (1), (1), Khumalo (1), and Rose (1). McDONALD-WILKINS JUMPS IN NET Due to Zach s unavailability, Detroit Mercy goalkeeper Ian McDonald-Wilkins started his first game in net with United Friday night. He made three saves and gave up only one goal which came in the 75th minute on a screamer by Cincinnati s Andre Sharp. He is also expected to play in Sunday s match. Detroit City FC fell to the Stars on Friday night dropping them down to third place, although they have only played nine games. On Sunday, DCFC is home against Cincinnati at 1 p.m. ON THE SCORESHEET Nine different Lansing United players have scored this season: (9), (3), Ugarte (2), (2), Tyler (1), Zach Pagani (1), Gabe Mateo (1), Greg (1), and Tyler Moorman (1). In addition, seven players have assisted on a goal this season: (3) Ugarte, Brian, Leigh, Godwin Addai, Gabe Mateo, and Adam Clauss. PASSING PASHER Using his speed either down the middle or on the wing, has been one of United s top offensive threats this season. His two assist game on Friday night gives him three on the year, tops on the team. BENNETT STRONG IN NET Lansing United goalkeeper Zach has posted four shutouts in nine games this season. The Michigan State Spartan has played well so far, giving up only nine goals while playing in all 900 minutes of action. He s made 29 saves this season for a.763 save percentage while his goals against average is.900. TEAM STATS Through 11 games, United has a overall record (3-2-0 home, away). The team has scored 21 goals on 130 shots, good enough for 1.90 goals per game compared to its opponents at.909. Lansing is averaging shots per game, 2.91 more than its opponents. ATTENDANCE AVERAGE After five home matches, total attendance at the East Lansing Soccer Complex is 4,298. The average attendance per game is now 860. The single-game high in attendance was set back on June 6 when 1,072 fans saw United play to an entertaining 2-2 draw against AFC Cleveland. YOUTH CAMPS The club is hosting a youth camp this summer, with instruction provided by coach Rudland, other members of the Lansing United coaching staff, and team players. The camp will be hosted at the East Lansing Soccer Complex and players of all ages are welcome. The camp will be held from July 7-July 10 (9 a.m. to noon).
