3 Summer Sports Camp Dear Parents, Thank you for enrolling your child in the Chelsea Piers Connecticut Summer Sports Camp in Fairfield County and beyond. We pride ourselves in planning the best camps available. We hope you and your child share our enthusiasm and are as excited as we are to get the summer started! This packet provides you with all of the information you need to know before camp begins. It is very important that you and your child read it thoroughly. If you have any additional questions or feel there is information we should know about your child before camp starts, please feel free to call ( ) or us at We look forward to meeting you and your child. 4 DROP OFF/PICK UP Listed below are the respective Drop-Off and Pick-Up locations and times for each of our camps. We ask that you not arrive early, as we will not have sufficient supervision available. We will have directional signage and staff on hand to direct you once you arrive on-site. After 4:15pm, all children who have not been picked up from camp will be placed in our After Care Program, the fee for which is $25/day or $100/week. After Care is available until 5:30pm. Late pick-ups from After Care will be charged an additional $5 for every 10 minute period after 5:30pm.
5 EARLY PICK-UP Early pick-up is available all day EXCEPT between 3:15pm - 4:00pm. All requests for early pick up must be ed to Camps@chelseapiersCT.com. We cannot send campers home early without written permission from a parent/guardian originating from an address we have on file. If the doesn t come from an authorized guardian, we will not be able to release the child. CHANGES All changes, including switching camp weeks, absences or early pick-up, must be made in writing. You may contact us via . camps@chelseapiersct.com We cannot take these requests, changes or applications over the phone for security reasons. ALL CHANGES AFTER JUNE 14 WILL RESULT IN A CHARGE OF $25/WEEK. Registration will close on Friday at 4:00pm for the following week of camp. There is a $25 walk-up fee on the Monday of each camp week. CAMP T-SHIRT/UNIFORM All campers are given a Chelsea Piers Summer Camp t-shirt on his or her first day of camp. Due to the operation of several different camps throughout the complex and our full commitment to safety, campers are strongly encouraged to wear their camp t-shirt every day. Additional camp t-shirts are available for a fee of $8 per shirt. ALL BAGS MUST BE EASILY IDENTIFIABLE WITH A NAME TAG ON THE OUTSIDE. SUSPENSION Chelsea Piers Connecticut reserves the right to suspend a child from camp due to excessive misbehavior, repeated failure of parent to pick-up or drop-off camper at the designated times, or failure of parent to submit payment on time. Decisions to suspend a camper will be made by the Program Director and the Camp Director. No refunds will be granted to campers who are suspended from camp. CAMPER BIRTHDAYS If your child s birthday falls on a camp day, please notify us in advance at camps@chelseapiersct.com so we may help him or her celebrate. Due to allergies please do not send birthday treats, pre-packaged or otherwise. We are happy to celebrate with balloons, songs and special recognition.
6 SUMMER CAMP LUNCH Menu *Camp menu is nut free Lunch will be provided every day for all full-day camps. Lunch selections include, but are not limited to: Day 1: BBQ Chicken Roasted Potato Wedges Day 2: Chicken Fingers Mac & Cheese Day 3: Spaghetti & Meatballs with Homemade Marinara Sauce Day 4: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Grilled Cheese & Ham Sandwiches Day 5: Pizza Day & Salad On the side: All Lunches (except on pizza day) include: Veggie Sticks Fresh Fruit Fresh Baked Cookies Plain bagels will be available as substitutes to lunches. Beverages: Lemonade Water Menu is subject to change *We have taken every precaution to provide accurate allergen information but due to circumstances beyond our control with regard to food manufacturers, food preparation, food storage and the like, we cannot guarantee that your food will be completely free of allergens.
7 RECREATIONAL PERIOD (sample schedule) For all full-day camps, campers enjoy a daily recreational period with the unique opportunity to explore different sports at Chelsea Piers Connecticut. Below is a sample recreational schedule for each camp. Each Friday, an with the following week s schedule will be sent to parents. 8 PAYMENT INFORMATION AND FEES The following list is a comprehensive summary of the charges that will occur during the course of the Chelsea Piers Summer Camp To secure your child s place in camp, the balance of tuition must be paid in full by 5/1/15. All campers who register after 5/1/15 must pay the entire tuition at the time of registration. 2. We require a valid credit card, even from parents who wish to pay by check. 3. There is a $25 change fee for each change made to the original application, after June 14, Registration will close on Friday at 4:00pm for the following week of camp. There is a $25 walk-up fee on the Monday of each camp week. 5. Checks will not be accepted as a form of payment after June 22, or for walkups enrolling in camp the same day. Credit cards, money orders and cash are acceptable forms of payment. 6. Chelsea Piers Summer Sports Camp is open from 8:30am - 4:00pm (times vary by camp), weekdays. Please see specific drop-off and pick-up times for each camp. After Care is available for an additional fee of $25/day or $100/week from 4:15pm 5:30pm. Campers who remain at Chelsea Piers Connecticut after 4:15pm will be placed in our After Care Program. CANCELLATION, CREDITS & REFUND POLICIES Requests for camp cancellations and refunds (not including the $150 nonrefundable deposit for each camp week) will be accepted through June 14. Refunds are not available starting June 15. If your camper suffers an injury that prevents them from attending camp, you may submit authorized documentation and apply for a camp credit to camps@chelseapiersct.com. Credits will not be issued for absences, lateness, sickness, fatigue or family emergencies. Members and customers who wish to change camp programs or camp weeks will be accommodated provided there is space available. There is a $25 transfer fee per child.
9 WHAT TO BRING Below is a summary of all suggested items campers need to bring to camp. All campers must either wear socks or bring socks with them every day. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO CAMP WITH CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC GAMING DEVICES. If the cell phone is necessary for you to communicate with your child after camp hours, the child must keep the phone in his/her bag, turned off during the camp day. Do not send your child to camp with large sums of money. Please note that Chelsea Piers Connecticut cannot be responsible for lost or stolen property and children will not be given individual lockers during camp. 14 HEALTH CODE/MEDICAL INFORMATION Completed medical forms are required before your child can attend camp. ANY MEDICATION, over the counter or prescription, must have an authorization formed signed by a physician and parent and be housed in original packaging. Chelsea Piers Summer Sports camp is licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health and is inspected annually. The camp conforms to the Board of Health s policies pertaining to program, staff, health, safety and facility.
