2 Junior Grand Finals On Thursday night, the Upper Great Southern Hockey Association held its junior grand finals. With a good crowd, there to watch the two games. In the Middle School Grand Final, we saw Pumas defeat Tigers 2 goals to 1 one. This was after it was nil all at half time and as the siren went for full time it was 1 all but Pumas had a penalty corner which they scored the winning goal. The MVP in the Grand Final went to Jack Moyses of Tigers. In the Upper School Grand Final, we saw Eagles play NRC Toucans and what a game it was. Toucan scored first from a penalty corner then late in the first half Eagles got the equaliser from a great field goal. The second half saw NRC Toucans again take the lead with a penalty corner goal however Eagles fought back and scored the equaliser with 5 minutes to go. Neither team scored again forcing the game into golden goal overtime. After 15 minutes, it was still a draw. This then put the game into the best of 5 1 on 1 competition. Eagles were on form and scored 3 goals to 1 goals therefore winning the Upper School premiership 5 goals to 3 goals. The MVP in the grand final was Marshall Henry from Eagles.
