1 Charlttetwn Ringette Turnament 1. The rules set frth in Ringette Canada Official and Case Bk will apply, unless mdified by these Turnament. 2. N additinal players can be added t a team s rster after December 31, The turnament cmmittee will review exceptins n an individual basis. 3. All games will be played at the Pwnal Sprts Centre (Pwnal), CARI Cmplex, Cdy Banks Arena, Simmns Sprt Centre, in Charlttetwn, Prince Edward Island. 4. Game sheets are t be verified and signed by ne bench staff member twenty (20) minutes befre the start f each game. The players names will be n stickers n the game sheets. All cpies f the game sheet are t be verified, and signed. At least ne f the team staff n the bench must be a female 18 years f age r lder. The team will be prvided with their dressing rm key after scre sheet verificatin, r as it becmes available. This verificatin will take place in the Turnament Office lcated in CARI at the end f the upper crridr between the Arenas, at the Cdy Banks Arena upstairs ffice (near canteen), at the Simmns Sprt Centre lbby r Pwnal Sprts Centre lbby. Game sheets fr the Under 8 Divisin will be required t be cmpleted, althugh n scres will be entered nt the sheets. 5. At the time f verifying the game sheet fr the first time, in the Turnament Office lcated at the CARI Cmplex, Cdy Banks Arena, Simmns Sprt Centre r Pwnal Sprts Centre: The team will prvide the Turnament Office with a cell phne number f a team representative that can be used n a 24-hur basis thrughut the turnament; The team releases the rganizers and spnsrs f the 2018 Charlttetwn Ringette Turnament frm any liability caused by injury r accident which may be incurred by the team r its members r its bench staff, while participating in the turnament; The team agrees t be respnsible fr any damage t dressing rms and ther arena facilities; agrees t reprt any damage t a turnament fficial befre using the assigned dressing rm; agrees they will leave the dressing rm lcked and in a clean and tidy cnditin and nt allw any ther team int the dressing rm; The team acknwledges that the turnament rganizers are nt respnsible fr any lss r theft f any items left in dressing rms, and; The team acknwledges that the turnament rules have been read and understd. 6. Teams must be ready t g n the ice ten (10) minutes befre the scheduled game time. Please check the schedule carefully. Teams will have tw (2) minutes t warm up prir t starting the game. Warm up will cmmence when the first team enters nt the ice surface. Teams will nt be permitted n the ice until the Zambni drs have clsed.

2 Charlttetwn Ringette Turnament 7. In the U12, U14 and U16U19 divisins, the hme team will prvide an experienced sht clck peratr during the Rund Rbin Games. The turnament cmmittee will prvide the sht clck peratr fr crssver and final games. 8. Teams will use the bench marked as HOME and VISITOR, as indicated n the schedule. The general rule fr cnflicting Jersey's (same clr as determined by the referees) is that the visitrs must change clrs. In the event f a cnflict f sweater clurs and ne team has tw sets f sweaters while the ppnents have nly ne, the team having tw sets shall make the sweater change, regardless f their Hme r Visitr status. 9. In the event f a team arriving late fr a game, a five (5) minute grace perid at the start f the game will apply. If the team arriving late is nt able t ice the required number f players (8) at the end f the grace perid, but des have them available t cmmence the game (6), the game will cmmence n later than the grace perid (5 minutes), but the team will start the game with a Delay f Game penalty. Failure t have the required number f players present befre the end f the game will result in a default f the game. In the event f a default, a scre f 7-0 will be awarded. If bth teams fail t ice a team, n pints in the standing will be awarded and a 0-0 scre will be psted. A defaulting team may appeal t the Turnament Appeals Cmmittee wh will determine hw the utcme f the game is t be psted, r if any changes are t be made t hw the utcme f the game has been psted. 10. All gals will be entered n the game sheet (with the exceptin f the U8 Divisin), but the maximum difference f gals t be shwn n the screbard and in determining standings will be seven (7) gals mre than the lwer team s ttal. This will be the Official Scre. 11. Standings at the end f preliminary games will be determined by awarding tw pints fr a win, ne pint fr a tie and zer pints fr a lss. Fr the purpse f the breaking f ties in the standings, the frmula as set ut in Ringette Canada Official and Case Bk Breaking f Ties in Standings will be used. 12. Each team will play a minimum f three games. Playff games are based n the number f teams in the age divisin and the availability f ice fr the Turnament. See # All games in the Turnament will cnsist f tw fifteen (15) minute stp time perids. N vertime will be played in preliminary games. In the event f a seven gal spread during the playing f the secnd perid (e.g. 9-2), the game will cntinue using running time during the perid f time in which the seven gal spread cntinues. If the gal spread drps belw seven (e.g. 9-2 becmes 9-3), the game reverts t stp time, and s frth. During running time, penalties remain the same length, but d nt start until play cmmences with the whistle frm the referee.

Games in the Under 8 Divisin All Under 8 Divisin games will fllw the same frmat as the ther divisins, including regular ringette rules with the fllwing exceptins: Play will be halted every tw minutes fr a line change buzzer will sund, the clck will stp until lines have been changed The players n the ice at the end f the first perid will start the secnd perid, t maintain equal ice time Teams WILL NOT change ends fr the secnd half Teams will use the full ice surface fr their 1st and 2nd games f the turnament, fr all 3rd games they will use nly half ice (Pilt per Ringette Canada AGM t mve t half ice games fr U8/9 beginning next year) 4 teams per ice sessin, 2 in each half Play is 5 n 5 with galie A gal crease will be painted n fr centre ice Only 1 line will be used t pass the ring acrss, RINGETTE line Play will start with a galie ring, including after all gals After a gal, the scring team MUST exit the zne t allw fr the galie t distribute the ring Dressing rms may be required t share Teams will be required t share a bench Caches are permitted t be n the ice with their players, if they s chse, but must wear a helmet N gals will be recrded, and n penalties will be served Any three in the zne will nt be called 15. In the event f a tie during playff and final games, sudden victry vertime will cmmence with ONE (5) minute perid. A cin tss will determine first pssessin f the ring in vertime. In the event the game is still tied at the end f the vertime perid, a sht-ut will be used t determine the winner. The sht-ut will cnsist f five players frm each team having an pprtunity t sht. The team with the mst gals after these five players will be declared the winner. If after the five shters, the scre remains tied, the sht-ut will cntinue until ne

Hme team fr champinship games will be as utlined in the schedule. 17. If a match penalty r tw miscnduct penalties are assessed against a player, s/he will be suspended frm any further participatin in the turnament. Suspended players must be listed n the game sheet and identified as suspended, but will nt be permitted n the bench during any subsequent game. 18. N game prtest will be accepted. All n-ice decisins and applicatins f the playing rules will be final. Player eligibility grievances and defaults will be determined by the Turnament Appeals Cmmittee, whse ruling will be final. As this is a huse league turnament, all teams may be required t prduce a cpy f their Ringette Canada Team Registratin Frm, if necessary, in rder t prve player eligibility. 19. The turnament cmmittee reserves the right t adjust game duratin as deemed necessary t remain within the verall turnament times. 20. N mre than tw (2) male players frm ne team may be n the ice during playing time f a game. Vilatin f this rule will result in an illegal Substitutin penalty. A secnd vilatin in the same game will result in frfeiture f the game by the ffending team. 21. Caches and managers are n ntice that they are respnsible fr prviding their wn first aid services at all sites during the Turnament. 22. Dressing rms are assigned as per the schedule and psted n the screens at the tp f the stairs t the dressing rms at the CARI and in the lbby f the Pwnal Sprts Centres, Cdy Banks and Simmns arenas. Dressing rms are t be left clean and tidy, and lcked when vacated by the team fllwing their game. N players fr a succeeding game shuld be allwed int a dressing rm. If any team has a cmplaint regarding a dressing rm when they unlck and enter it, n persns shuld be permitted int that rm until a Turnament Official has had the pprtunity t view the situatin. Cmplaints regarding a dressing rm shuld be immediately referred t the Turnament Office. Dressing rm keys will be returned t the Turnament Office fllwing the game and cmpleted game sheets will be prvided at that time. Car keys r ther suitable cllateral will be required t btain dressing rm keys. 23. Parents and ther spectatrs are strictly prhibited frm being n the ice at any time. The fficial rink phtgrapher, r such ther persn as may be designated by the turnament cmmittee, will be permitted n the ice fr champinship game medal presentatins. Team staff are expected t refrain frm crssing the ice t reach the team benches. If this is nt pssible due t arena cnfiguratin, staff shuld use the clsest gate and walk alng the bards t arrive at their bench.

SCHEDULE AND PLAYOFF FORMAT The breaking f ties fr standings in all divisins will fllw the frmat as utlined in the Ringette Canada Official and Case Bk , with the fllwing exceptins f the Under 10 and Under 12 fr determinatin f Wild Card psitin(s). The prcedure will be fllwed in sequence until a tie is brken, i.e. ne team is eliminated frm the tie, and then it reverts back t the first step and s frth. In mst cases this prcedure will declare the highest team, but in sme cases it may declare the lwest team and that team shall be drpped and then start ver. In ALL cases the maximum difference between gals fr and gals against in each game is seven (7) gals. Under 8 Divisin: 12 teams in 3 pls playing 3 games with n standings, playffs r champinship Under 10 Divisin: 20 teams in 5 pls f 4 (A,B,C,D,E) with rund rbin play within their pl (3 games). The 5 pl winners + 1 Wild Card team will advance t the playff rund. Games t be played - Quarter final games Seed 3 VS Wild Card (Seed 6), Seed 4 vs Seed 5, Semi-final games Seed 1 VS Winner f Seed 4 / Seed 5 game, Seed 2 VS Winner f Seed 3 / Seed 6 game with winners nt Final. Under 12 Divisin: 21 teams 4 Pls f 4 (A, B, C, E) + 1 Pl f 5 (D). Teams in A, B, C, E play single rund rbin within their pl. Pl D has 1 team playing 4 games and all thers playing 3 games within their pl. Fr the team required t play the 4th game, this extra game will cunt nly fr their ppnent, unless these tw teams becme invlved in a tiebreaker that nly includes the tw teams. The extra game fr the team playing fur games in the preliminary rund, will be the first game f the turnament. The 5 pl winners + 1 Wild Card team will advance t the playff rund. Games t be played - Quarter final games Seed 3 VS Wild Card (Seed 6), Seed 4 vs Seed 5, Semi-final games Seed 1 VS Winner f Seed 4 / Seed 5 game, Seed 2 VS Winner f Seed 3 / Seed 6 game with winners nt Final. The 30 secnd sht clck will be used fr all rund rbin and playff games. Under 14 Divisin: 16 team in 4 pls f 4, all pls t play a single rund rbin play within their pl (3 games). The 4 pl winners will advance t the playff rund. Games t be played - Seed 1 VS Seed 4, Seed 2 VS Seed 3 with winners nt Final. The 30 secnd sht clck will be used fr all rund rbin and playff games. Under 1619 Divisin: 16 team in 4 pls f 4, all pls t play a single rund rbin play within

6 Charlttetwn Ringette Turnament their pl (3 games). The 4 pl winners will advance t the playff rund. Games t be played - Seed 1 VS Seed 4, Seed 2 VS Seed 3 with winners nt Final. The 30 secnd sht clck will be used fr all rund rbin and playff games. 25. The wild card team(s) will be determined using the fllwing frmula: Once the pl winners have been decided, the wild card team(s) will be the team with the mst pints earned in the rund rbin games. If tw r mre teams remain tied, the team having the greatest psitive difference between gals fr and gals against in the rund rbin games will be declared the wild card team(s). If still tied, the team having the fewest ttal gals against in rund rbin games will be declared the wild card team(s). If still tied, the team with the mst gals scred in rund rbin games will be declared the wild card team(s). If still tied, the team with the earliest time f their first gal in their first game will be declared the wild card team(s). If still tied, a cin tss will be used t break the tie. 26. Charlttetwn Ringette Assciatin is a member f Ringette PEI and abides by all plicies & prcedures f RPEI. Ringette PEI has updated several sectins f its Plicy & Prcedures related t Autmatic Suspensins fr Game Incidents: 27. When a team leaves the ice r refuses t start play as per Ringette Canada, all bench staff indicated n the game sheet will receive a minimum 5 game suspensin. Said team will als be subjected t a $ minimum fine. All players and team staff will be suspended indefinitely until the fine is paid in full by the ffending team, the lcal assciatin r the prvincial bdy. 28. When a team drps ut after the turnament has cmmenced OR withdraws within 7 days f the turnament start OR fails t shw, all team staff indicated n turnament registratin frm r game sheet will receive a minimum 5 game suspensin. Said team will als frfeit the turnament fee and be subject t an additinal fine equivalent t the value f the turnament registratin. 29. Ringette PEI will uphld all suspensins, sanctins r disciplinary actins in ringette acrss internatinal, natinal and prvincial gverning bdies. Last updated n December 18, 2017
