3 2016 USSF Mandates In 20016/17 USSF announced a mandate to form teams by birth year vs. grade level Introduced Smaller sided games

4 New for 2018/19! Littleton SC is reintroducing grade level soccer Why? kids want to play with school friends Why? to encourage more players to play soccer Why? thousands of players stopped playing recreational soccer across the US after mandate Why? because it s the right thing to do

5 New for 2018/19! How? This is not going to be the easiest option to implement but is the right thing to do. How? players will have multiple options based upon their birth year, future aspirations, CSA run programs etc. How? LSC will be flexible to help transition players to the program that best suits them

6 Recreational - U9 & U10 7v7 soccer at all levels at U9 and U10 7 or 8 game season Interleague with HRSA teams 4 home and 4 away games Practice twice a week Mixture of players from previous teams Typically the more social player Volunteer coaches Additional training opportunities (FNA)

7 Academy U9 & U10 Focus on the development of individual skills make each player technically better This program is designed for players that want more from soccer than the recreational program provides Staff training sessions from licensed, professional staff coaches They have passion and enjoy the game of soccer Committed to improve their skills Year long developmental program for coaches as well as players

8 Academy U9 & U10 Teams practice twice a week but can practice a third time if they want to U9 teams practice Tuesday & Thursday U10 teams practice Monday & Wednesday Practice at Cherry Knolls or Community Park Practices are 75 minutes long, typically Boys: pm and Girls: pm Want to keep the roster size close to 10 players to maximize playing time

9 Academy U9 & U10 Dedicated DOC, Danny Woolliscroft to monitor development and assist players/coaches Curriculum driven program Dedicated GK training at Cherry Knolls U9 League, all games at Cherry Knolls U10 Interleague with HRSA, 4 home and 4 away games Volunteer coaches, head and assistant coach 7 or 8 game season

11 Nike Academy Program Expansion of our current Academy program. Designed to meet the expanding needs and demands of the parents, players and game Program based vs. Team based Teams will play in CSA Front Range League Players are identified and encouraged to play in this league under the direction of the programs DOC Player Attributes: Above average ability, soccer as a priority sport, dedicated, committed, wants to play with similar ability players not friends

12 Nike Academy Program Teams will practice 3 times a week at Southbridge (primarily) Boys early ( ) Girls late ( ) U9 Teams Tuesday/Thursday plus choice U10 Teams Monday/Wednesday plus choice (typically Friday) Staff assigned coaches Teams participate in a minimum of 4 tournaments each year, pre and post season Year round soccer program, winter training once a week for 8 weeks, summer 4v4

13 Nike Academy Program Players may practice in teams, groups or pods. This is dependent on how many players are accepted into the Nike Academy program Wants to play competitive soccer Select teams may be formed periodically for select tournaments Developing vs. winning Birth year program!

14 Nike Academy Program Players can move between programs based upon their desire, development (up and down), commitment and availability U9 ID Practices Monday, May 14 th & Tuesday, May 15 th U10 ID Practices Wednesday, May 16 th & Thursday, May 17 th All players must register to be eligible Boys: 4.30 Cherry Knolls Girls: 6.00 Cherry Knolls Nike Academy Camp: July 30 - August 2

15 Academy & Nike Uniform There is a specific uniform that is required for the program Colorado United Academy uniform New style for fall 2018/ Academy & Nike Academy players can wear existing uniform 2 shirts, 2 pairs of socks and 1 shirt Approximate cost is $85.00 Available from Soccer Stop

21 Closing Pricing 2017/18 Cost of current Recreational program - $275 for Fall and Spring, $165 for a single season Cost of current Academy program - $520 for Fall and Spring, $305 for a single season Cost of Nike Academy program is $1,000 for the Fall and Spring, $550 for a single season. Players are encouraged to register for both seasons.
