1 Registration Packet Everything you need to register with the Chicago Bruins Hockey Club for the Fall Season is contained in this packet. Please print this entire packet and follow the directions carefully.
2 Dear Bruins Member, Welcome to the season. If you are new to the Bruins organization, let us be the first to welcome you. If you are a returning member, it s good to have you back. After careful review and comparison to comparable hockey programs in our area, the Chicago Bruins are happy to once again offer a very competitive fee structure for best-in-class coaching, training, ice times, and facility. There are several fee reduction opportunities this year especially on Bruins Day. We encourage everyone to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible. The club s main fundraiser this year is included in the player fee. Each player will receive 20, $10 raffle tickets sometime in October. Once a player sells their tickets, the proceeds are theirs to keep. This allows each to player to lower their player fee by $200. If you do not want to sell the tickets, you can enter yourself in the raffle prize drawing. In addition to the player fee, each family, excluding Jr. Bruins, is required to pay a $200 Volunteer Obligation Deposit. This deposit is refundable once your family fulfills its 10 hour volunteer obligation. Please see the Volunteer Obligation Form in this packet for details. The Bruins requires each player, other than Jr. Bruins, to have a full uniform set. This includes a home and away jersey, Bruins pant shell, and home and away game socks. New game socks will be provided by the club. If your player needs a new jersey(s) or pant shell or you are new to the club, please complete the Jersey Order Form in this packet and return it to the pro shop by September 13th. We have established better payment methods to ensure that members are not late with payments and the club is not burdened financially. Please see the Payment Method Agreement Form in this packet. This form must be completed and proper payment submitted at the initial team meeting. Bruins Day is July 17 th from 10:00-3:00 at the rink. There will be a free open skate, free Learn-to-Skate instruction, free food, equipment swap, bago tournament, guest appearances and BIG DISCOUNTS. If you pay the $400 Registration Fee on this date, the $185 conditioning clinic is FREE. If you pay your player fee in full and put down your $200 volunteer deposit, you will receive a 5% discount off of the player fee. If you pay the $125 travel tryout fee on Bruins Day, you will receive a 40% discount off the normal $175 tryout fee. We look forward to seeing everyone around the rink. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer; hockey season is right around the corner. Sincerely, Chicago Bruins Hockey Club Board of Directors

9 Chicago Bruins Volunteer Obligation Form The Chicago Bruins Hockey Club is a not-for-profit organization that relies on its volunteers to operate effectively. For the season, we are implementing the following Volunteer Obligation Policy. Each family will be required to put a $200 refundable deposit towards the volunteer program, which will be collected with the initial registration fee. The $200 is fully refundable once your family has reached its 10 hour volunteer obligation to the organization. If a player still has a balance when their obligation is fulfilled, the $200 will be deducted from the remaining balance. If a player is paid in full, a $200 refund check will be issued at the end of the season. We realize that not every family is in the position to volunteer, so we offer a buy-out option. You may exercise the buy-out option by making a donation of $200 payable to the Chicago Bruins Hockey Club to be submitted with the attached volunteer form. There are a limited number of positions available on certain committees. Volunteers will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. If a chosen committee is full, a volunteer will be offered another position on a different committee. Each family will be required to volunteer at least 10 hours of volunteer work for the club, beginning with Bruins Day and ending with spring tryouts and registration. Rostered Assistant Coaches (up to two per team) and rostered Team Managers (one per team) will automatically fulfill their 10 hour obligation once they have been in the defined role for the duration of the season. Any assistant coach or team manager that does not fulfill their obligation for the entire season will forfeit their $200 deposit and no refund will be issued. The 10 hour volunteer obligation will be fulfilled for anyone that is selected to be the Chicago Bruin s league representative for each of the following leagues - Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL), Northwest Hockey League (NWHL), and Central States Development Hockey League (CSDHL). Clock/Score Keepers receive partial credit for volunteer hours. Clock/scorers will receive a maximum of 5 volunteer hours.
