2 GENERAL OVERVIEW USA Hockey Grls Player Development Dstrct-Specfc Gude The USA Hockey Grls Player Development Dstrct-Specfc Gude outlnes the 2017 grls player development process n each of the twelve dstrcts. Ths gude provdes nformaton on the opportuntes avalable n each dstrct and shows how a player may progress through her dstrct s player development process to be elgble for opportuntes at the dstrct, regonal, and/ or natonal level. At a natonal level, grls from the 2000, 2001, and 2002 brth years, who are U.S. ctzens and complete the dstrct tryout process, wll be elgble for potental advancement to one of the followng age-specfc Grls Natonal Player s: Grls 15 Player (July 8-12, 2017) 216 players Each dstrct receves allocated spots for the 2002 brth year generated by regstered female players n each dstrct. Grls U18 Player (July 15-21, 2017) 180 players Each dstrct receves allocated forward and defense spots for the 2000 and 2001 brth years generated by regstered female players n each dstrct and the performance of that dstrcts specfc brth year. Goale spots are consdered at large. Grls U18 Select Player (, 2017) There are no set allocatons for ths camp. The USA Hockey Natonal Team Staff and Tryout Drectors n each Dstrct wll collectvely determne who s selected for ths camp from the 2000, 2001, and 2002 brth years. Players may also be elgble for opportuntes at the dstrct and regonal level. Most opportuntes focus on the 14 to 17 year old age range ( brth years); however, addtonal developmental opportuntes may be avalable n some dstrcts for the 1999, 2003, and 2004 brth years. These opportuntes wll vary n each dstrct and are ncluded n each dstrcts player development process n ths gude. For more nformaton, please contact the Grls /Women s Secton Representatve n your dstrct. Because each dstrct s responsble for desgnng ts grls player development process, t may vary from dstrct to dstrct (.e. brth years ncluded, locaton of tryouts, regonal opportuntes, etc.). Because the dstrcts are not all dentcal, the sze of a dstrct, the number of grls regstered n that dstrct, and the geographcal proxmty of the regstrants n the dstrct are a few of the factors that nfluence a dstrcts player development process. Note: Ths nformaton s specfc to the 2017 player development process and the process, dates, locatons, format, cost, number of players, etc. may vary from year to year. Addtonally, the 16 and 17 year olds (2000/2001 brth years) are combned n the dstrct-specfc progressons, but these brth years are evaluated separately and have dstnct, brth-year specfc player allocatons for dstrct, regonal, and natonal opportuntes. 1

5 GOALIE OPPORTUNITIES 15s/16s/17s brthyears: 2002/2001/2000 Dstrct Tryout All goales should regster and attend the Afflate (f applcable) and Dstrct Tryouts requred n her Dstrct. Select players wll be chosen to attend the followng camps: Women s Natonal Goale Development Camp May (Blane, Mnnesota) ~18 Goales Ths goale-only development camp provdes a range of talented goales (veteran Natonal Team goales to Natonal Team hopefuls) the opportunty to tran wth Natonal Team coaches. USA Hockey Apponted Scouts and Coaches wll evaluate goales throughout the season to determne whch goales are selected for ths camp (goales ages 15 and older are elgble). Grls U18 Select Player (Bddeford, Mane) 6 Goales Goales n the brth years wll be selected for ths camp and the selectons are consdered at large. USA Hockey Apponted Scouts wll work wth each Dstrct to determne whch goales wll advance to ths camp. Grls U18 Player July (St. Cloud, Mnnesota) 20 Goales 8 goales n the 2000 brth year and 12 goales n the 2001 brth year wll be selected for ths camp and the selectons are consdered at large. USA Hockey Apponted Scouts wll work wth each Dstrct to determne whch goales wll advance to ths camp. Grls 15 Player July 8-12 (St. Cloud, Mnnesota) 24 Goales Each Dstrct s allocated one goale for the 2002 brth year. The remanng 12 selectons are consdered at large. USA Hockey Apponted Scouts wll work wth each Dstrct to determne whch goales wll advance to ths camp. Md-Am Mult-Dstrct Goale Camp July 4-9 (Kent, Oho) $650 ~32 Goales Goales n the brth years n partcpatng dstrcts may be nomnated by ther Dstrct for one of 32 spots avalable for all goales. Players chosen for ths camp are decded solely by each Dstrct s tryout evaluaton staff. Goales attendng ths camp may also be selected to attend the Md-Am Mult-Dstrct Player held August 6-11 n Kent, Oho. Dstrct s Goales may also be nvted to partcpate n ther Dstrct s development camps, regonal development camps, and Dstrct-specfc goale camps when avalable. Player selectons for these opportuntes are decded solely by each Dstrct s tryout evaluaton staff.
