Share your 4-H pride with your family, friends and neighbors! We want to see which club has the most 4-H pride in Woodbury County. The club that shows the most 4-H pride will win a free pizza party. To enter the contest, please either or post your photos to the Woodbury County 4-H Facebook page of your club showing off their 4-H pride! All photos must be submitted by October 13 for judging. Photos can be ed to Laura Johnson at laurajoh@iastate.edu The Iowa Youth Straw Poll Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate embraces the 4-H mission of engaging youth to reach their fullest potential. He would like to encourage youth participation through schools and 4-H Clubs to participate in The Iowa Youth Straw Poll. The state wide poll is November 1; this may not coincide with your 4-H club meeting so you can hold the election at your convenience. Here is how it works: 1. Your 4-H Club registers online to our Secretary of State s office. We will send you details and additional resources. Click 2. They will send two or three questions for students to vote on. In an election year, voting is on the current candidates. In the off-year election (this year), we present fun, relevant, and interesting questions. 3. After the vote is complete, submit your club s results online and we will post the information on our social media platforms. Encourage you to share your club s voting experience on State of Iowa website and our social media platforms. 4. To encourage you to share your club s voting experience on social media and to assist you, they will send more information when you register. 5. This project is a teachable moment. Visit with your members about why voter participation is important. Our Elections101.com website has additional free curriculum that you can use or modify for your 4-H Club. You can access and use any--or all--of the potential curriculum. Click If you have any questions or comments you can contact Sherill Whisenand at Sherill.
