Novice is defined as the following: any horse can enter as long as they are ridden by a novice rider, any rider can enter provided they are on a novice horse. A novice horse or rider is defined as being in their first year of showing or not having won 2 novice classes. Classes are open to stallions, mares and geldings. Please note that classes are breed specific, and classes are open. T6 Tolt-Icelandic: 1. Slow to medium tempo tolt. 2. Slow to medium tempo tolt on the long sides hoding both reins in one hand clearly showing no rein contact with the horses mouth. Class: 117. Three Gait Icelandic: 1. slow tempo tolt. 2. medium tempo trot 3. medium tempo walk 4. Medium tempo canter. The best three of the four gaits shown will be counted towards a combined mark. Alternatively, only three gaits may be shown in which case all are counted towards a combined mark. Class 119. Champagne Class- Paso Fino: to be shown in Trail Walk, Show Gait, Pleasure Gait and any other gaits as asked for at the judges discretion while carrying their glass of champagne Special: Champion and Reserve Awards to be given to top 2 horses accumulating the most points from the Open Gaited Classes. 6 points for 1st, 5 points for 2nd, 4 points for 3rd, 3 points for 4th, 2 points for 5th and 1 point for 6th. All competitors must have their numbers on and may not mount until registration is completed in show office. 4. All competitors have 60 seconds to start pattern or will be excused from class. 5. Riders not in control of their animals will be excused from ring 6. If leadline required: mount and rider must break & stop the timer ahead of handler or it is a NO TIME. 7. Off pattern (at Judges discretion) in any class is NO TIME. 8. If you knock a Barrel or a Pole in the Barrel Race or Pole Bending class a 5 second penalty will be added to your time for each knock down. 9. In jackpot and head to head classes a knock down will result in a NO TIME 10. If you miss the flag that is a NO TIME 11. Team Relay Race baton pass must take place between two end poles INSIDE timer line. If you cross the timer line it is at NO TIME. 12. No person under the age of 18 permitted to show a stallion in any class. 13. Unsportsmanlike conduct, excessive spurring, whipping will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification. NO REFUNDS. 14. All riders must wear appropriate show attire. English or Western Shirts buttoned up, tucked in with short or long sleeves, boots with a heel, approved helmet with harness or cowboy hat. 15. Riders 18 and under as of January 1st must wear an approved helmet when mounted. Riders 18 and over are strongly recommended to wear helmets. 16. All riders must have proof of liability insurance 17.
