2 Horsehoe Park and Equestrian Centre SAQHA Shamrock Show - March 13 - March Gambler s Choice Ranch Pleasure Stakes $1,000 added: $400 to Open; $400 to Amateur; $200 to Novice Eligibility $25 Entry fee per horse, $15 Added back Horse must show in both days of ranch pleasure in regular show to be eligible (horses that are not registered AQHA may show in the ACR class that is open to all-breeds). In addition to the flat pattern, there will be 3 sets of obstacles with 3 different difficulty levels. Riders choosing the easiest option of the obstacle will have the score called by judge; riders choosing the more difficult option will have their score multiplied by 2 (either positive or negative); riders choosing the most difficult option will have their score multiplied by 3. The class will work in draw order. Management reserves the right to cancel all or portions of the class if there are not at least 8 entries in each division.

All owners and exhibitors are responsible for knowing these rules. Special attention will be paid to RULE 401 & 441. Classes will be run in the order listed. ENTRIES CLOSE March 3, Please enter complete information for each HORSE and RIDER(S) on the enclosed registration form. Use one form per horse. ONLINE ENTRY available at A one-time POST ENTRY PENALTY of $25 per horse will be charged for entries postmarked or submitted online after March 3, Photocopies of AQHA papers, current AQHA Open, Amateur and/or Youth card must accompany entries. Numbers will not be issued unless entry forms are completely and legibly filled out. CATTLE RESERVATIONS. Cow horse cattle must be reserved by February 28, 2014 with a completed cow horse and/or cutting cattle reservation form. Entries without pre-reserved cattle are subject to availability of cattle to receive a fresh cow for cattle work and a late fee of $20 per head. Reservations cancelled by March 3, 2014 will receive a refund of any amount paid less a $20 cancellation fee. Entries in concurrent AZRCHA and AQHA working cow horse classes pay only one cattle charge and reserve only one head per run. SAQHA will adjust cattle fees based on supply and feed costs; charges may be lower than reflected in premium. STALL PRE-RESERVATIONS CLOSE FEBRUARY 28, Stalls are available from noon Wednesday, March 12th at a pre-reserved cost of $30 per stall per night, bedding not included. Complete and mail the pre-reservation form postmarked by February 28, Stalls reserved after February 28, 2014 will be $40 per stall per night. Send all stall reservations to Carol Whittaker (pistolhillqh@att.net).call to pre-order bedding. Early stall arrivals should contact Tim Lynch at to make arrangements. Feed can be delivered to the grounds by the nearby PetClub store. Phone orders will only be accepted if credit card and photo I.D. are on file at the store prior to ordering feed. 5 MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. All riders/handlers must have a current, individual AQHA, Amateur or AQHYA membership. Show management must inspect the membership cards or photocopies prior to issuing entries. If an exhibitor cannot produce a current individual membership card, exhibitors will complete the appropriate application (AQHA or AQHYA) and pay the proper membership fee. An exhibitor MUST PRESENT A CURRENT CARD OR PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP before they can show. Amateur certifications CAN now be obtained at the show. Exhibitors in Novice Amateur and Novice Youth classes must have a card showing N in membership number. See AQHA rules SHW AWARDS First through sixth place. Grand and Reserve Mare, Gelding and Stallion to receive show ribbon. Halter Grand and All-around trophies available through AQHA. High Point Awards to be tabulated on a basis of nine or more in a class: 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1: eight in a class: 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 etc. Points accumulated throughout the show. TIE BREAKERS: 1) Greatest number of first places; 2) Highest placing over greatest number of horses; 3) Tiebreaker judge. ALL AROUND AWARDS will be calculated like AQHA. One horse, one rider, one division. Halter points will count towards all-around awards, however halter is not required; horse must show in four classes under each judge in your division to be eligible for all-around and reserve. CIRCUIT AWARDS must show under all judges to be eligible. Classes shown to fewer than 5 judges will receive a comparable award. SELECT AMATEUR may compete in an Amateur class if no select class is available in that event.points earned in those events count toward the All Around Award. NOVICE CLASSES All AQHA classes that are listed as novice will be Level 1 classes under AQHA s new leveling system. Please make sure you are eligible by reviewing AQHA s website or contacting them with questions. AzQHA SANCTIONED SHOWS are assessed $1.00 per class entry to help fund year-end awards. This assessment is included in your entry fee. PERFORMANCE HALTER CLASSES require proof of AQHA Performance ROM. An exhibitor may not enter the corresponding halter class. STALLIONS may not be shown in novice youth, youth or novice amateur classes. SAQHA and its show management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. It will be a condition of entry that the exhibitor will hold SAQHA and its show management and personnel blameless for any loss or sickness to his horse(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire, theft, or otherwise. ANY CHECKS RETURNED to show management as insufficient funds will be assessed an additional $30 office charge. Be aware of AQHA rules VIO CLASS CALLS: Every effort is made to maintain a working PA system. However, the PA must be considered a courtesy. It is your responsibility to be at the gate for the classes you have entered. CLASS SEQUENCE AND LOCATION. Management reserves the right to adjust the sequence and location of classes. GATE ENTRIES: According to AQHA policy, gate entries will not be accepted. Exhibitors must submit class entry cards in the show office at least 3 classes before the class they plan to show. CLASS SCRATCHES: Scratches must be done in the show office or at the gate prior to the class. No shows will be charged for class. OFFICE HOURS: Office will be open one hour before the start of the show each day. An office phone is not available, please direct calls to Shawn Martin HORSESHOE PARK RULES: Exhibitors are responsible for adhering to the rules of Horseshoe Park in regards to the use of motor vehicles on the show grounds, pets and alcohol.
