Excelsus has always prided ourselves on building female bloodlines or recognizing cows that produce well year after year. My dad always says what is the use of a cow that has an ICP of under four hundred days and a reproduction index of over a hundred if she has no calves that are retained in the herd or sold as sale bulls. Move her to the commercial herd if you want to keep her then. A stud cow should retain a fair amount off her offspring as higher quality, inspection passed animals and still have a good ICP and reproduction index. We then recognize these animals by our naming system. Mooi Rivier is the son of LAR06224 that needs no introduction. He breeds sound bulls and females and is a very correct bull. Above is EXL15134 Excelsus Maxi and EXL15119 Excelsus Lila with her dam LAR07319 that will also be on this sale.

HCO1180 Kino Zinkplaats Zinkplaats got his name from Bertie Coetzee s band Zinkplaats and we bought the bull from his and Hennie Coetzee s Hencoe Bonsmara stud. Look out for his young replacement EXL16131 Excelsus Zenith that we have used this year. There are also a shoal of young Zinkplaats bulls and heifers also on this sale.
