The Show will host Workout Sessions for individual or team member contestants entered in the ANLS Junior Livestock or Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest. ENTRY DEADLINE is DECEMBER 10. PRE-CONTEST WORKOUT SESSIONS Workout sessions are subject to change, depending on availability of livestock. Coaches and teams may NOT independently select livestock for workout purposes. All Judging activity by Coaches, Teams and Individuals must be done under the direction of the Contest Chairman. Workout Session: Monday, December 29 at 1:00 pm Coaches meeting held immediately following final workout. Grounds closed to coaches and contestants immediately following the Coaches Meeting. l. The Show will provide practice-judging classes of breeding and market cattle, swine, sheep and goats for the above schedule. 2. There will be no official judges or placings for the classes assembled and offered for Pre-Contest Workout Sessions. 3. Sessions will include two hours of classes for each species. Classes will be changed several times within each two hour session, yet allow all participants adequate time to work each class. The first rotation will be combined with the Junior Livestock Judging Contest.

2 th Annual Arizona National Livestock Show Page 96 CONTEST RULES ENTRIES CLOSE DECEMBER 10 l. Teams must be entered on an official entry form available online or through the Arizona National Office. Individual members must be designated no later than the Coaches Meeting the evening prior to the Contest. 2. Entry fees are $45 per junior college team, $50 per senior college team, $45 per freshman division team and $10 per additional (non-team member) individual. Fees must be included with the entry form. Individual contestants are only allowed from schools (or organizations in the case of the Freshman Division) that have entered a team in the Contest. 3. No person will be eligible for this Contest who has served as an Animal Science Instructor in a junior or senior college or who has served as a judge for a college livestock judging contest. 4. Uniforms, school colors, or other methods, which identify the contestant s school are not allowed during the contest. 5. Upon arrival on the Fairgrounds, all Coaches must register their team at the Arizona National Show Office. This registration must occur prior to participation in any Collegiate Judging Workout or activity. 6. Contestants and Coaches will NOT be permitted on the grounds after the coaches meeting which will take place immediately following the final workout session. 7. No practice judging classes may be set up by judging team coaches without prior permission from Arizona National Officials. Contestants are encouraged to watch various livestock shows and participate in judging workouts. 8. Coaches will not be permitted to examine classes prior to completion of evaluation by contestants, unless invited to serve in an official capacity by Arizona National Officials. 9. During the contest, questions must be directed to the Contest Superintendent only. Contestants may not confer with team members or with other people. No communication devices (pagers, cellular phones, etc.) will be allowed. JUNIOR COLLEGE TEAMS 10. Open to teams from two-year colleges, which have a full time Agriculture Department. 11. Each institution may enter one team of five members. All five individuals will count for the team total. Any additional contestants will be eligible for individual awards. 12. Each team member must be a certified full time student carrying 12 or more hours of college work during the current fall semester, and be eligible under the rules established by the Junior College Coaches Association. SENIOR COLLEGE TEAMS 13. Open to teams from any four-year college having a full time Agriculture Department. 14. Each institution may enter one team of six members. The five individuals with the highest total scores will count for all team totals. The lowest scoring team member and any additional contestants will be eligible for individual awards. 15. Contestants must be undergraduate students regularly enrolled in a four-year course leading to a degree equivalent to a Bachelor of Science and taking 12 or more semester hours in the current fall semester. 16. Team members shall not have competed in previous senior collegiate livestock judging contests. COLLEGIATE FRESHMAN DIVISION 17. The Collegiate Freshman Division is provided to allow participation from college students who are not members of a junior or senior college team and youth participants that are not eligible to participate in the Junior (4-H / FFA) Livestock Judging Contest. Participants must be either currently enrolled in college, a member of 4-H, a member of FFA OR a member of a National Junior Breed Association. 4-H, FFA and Junior Breed Association members must be less than 22 years old on the day of the contest. 18. Each institution / organization may enter one team of five members. All five individuals will count for the team totals. Any additional contestants will be eligible for individual awards.

Contest Results and Awards - Coliseum North Hall Workout Sessions are available to all contestants at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 29th. CONTEST FORMAT A total of eight classes of cattle, swine, sheep and goats will be judged. Each class will consist of four animals. Twelve minutes are allowed to place animals in each class. Scores are given on placings and oral reasons. Oral reasons will be given on at least two classes, one of which may have performance data. Contestants will NOT be allowed to use notes when giving oral reasons. COMBINED CONTEST This Junior Livestock Judging Contest and the first rotation of the Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest will be combined. Junior and Collegiate contestants will judge classes together. CONTEST RULES ENTRIES CLOSE DECEMBER Entry forms are available online, from the Arizona National Livestock Show Office, Arizona FFA advisors and Arizona County 4-H Offices. Entry forms must be signed by the appropriate official; the Ag Education Instructor for FFA teams or the County Extension Agent for 4-H teams. The signature will certify the Official has read the Contest Rules and verified the eligibility of each contestant. 2. Fees: $20 per team and $5 per additional individual. Fees must be included with the entry form. A team is comprised of up to four individuals. If one individual desires to enter and is unable to be on a judging team due to their county or chapter choosing not to attend the Contest, that individual may enter the contest as a team of one and pay the $5 individual entry fee. There is no limit on the number of Additional Individuals above the four-member team. A team must be entered in the Contest in order for Additional Individuals to enter. 3. The Contest is open to all FFA and 4-H members in good standing. Members of 4-H teams must be from the same county, members of FFA teams must be from the same FFA chapter. 4. Teams will compete in either the Junior or Senior Division. The oldest member of the team will determine the division for the team. 5. The Junior Division will consist of teams whose oldest member is less than fourteen (14) years old on the January 1st (day following the contest). The Senior Division will consist of teams with any member fourteen (14) years old or older on January 1st (day following the contest). For individual placing, the division of the team will also be the division of all individuals on that team. It is recommended to NOT enter Junior age contestants on Senior teams since those Junior age contestants will be placed as Senior age contestants. 6. Team and Individual awards will be provided for both Junior and Senior Divisions. 7. Contest eligibility: a. Contestants cannot have competed on a College judging team. b. Contestants may not be entered in or completed a college or university level livestock judging course. c. 4-H Contestants cannot have competed at the National 4-H Livestock Judging Contest. FFA Contestants cannot have competed at the National FFA Livestock Judging Contest. d. If a contestant is determined to be ineligible, the team and all contestants entered with the

The official who signed the entry form certifying the eligibility of an ineligible contestant may not be allowed to enter teams in subsequent years. 8. All Contestants will judge and give oral reasons. Only the three highest team member scores will be counted for team awards. FFA and 4-H teams compete together. Awards are given for team and individual scores. 9. Only contestants and Contest officials are permitted in the Livestock Judging Contest area. 10. Contestants cannot confer with each other or their coach at any time during the contest or during oral reasons. Youth contestants need to understand that they will need to be silent from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm. Violators of this rule will be disqualified. Clean notebooks are allowed. Questions must be directed to Contest Officials only. 11. Contestants are not allowed to have cell phones or pagers on their person during the Contest. Please, if you have a cell phone or pager, leave it with your judging coach or contest officials until the contest is finished. 12. Rule violations will cause disqualification, forfeiture of all awards, and the possibility of being barred from future competition.

5 th Annual Arizona National Livestock Show Page 99 TEAM FITTING CONTEST SPONSOR: Sullivan Supply Contest Schedule: Sunday, December 28; 3:30 pm ENTRY DEADLINE is DECEBMER 16 This contest is produced by Sullivan Supply and organized in cooperation with the ANLS. The contest will be Team Based. Each Team will compete within the parameters listed below for fitting, grooming, animal care and showmanship techniques relative to show cattle. The contest is open to novice and advanced exhibitors, and ALL members of a team must meet ANLS Junior Exhibitor age eligibility requirements. CONTEST RULES l. The Entry Deadline for the Team Fitting Contest is December 16. See additional requirements in the General Rules and Regulations section of the Premium Book online. Late entries are accepted up until December 26 at 5:00 pm in the ANLS Office. 2. The Entry Fee is $15 per team. Late entries will be required to pay $30 per team. 3. The Sullivan Supply/Stock Show University Arizona National Livestock Show fitting contest is open to all Junior Exhibitors. 2. A team shall consist of three (3) persons, of any sex and from one state. Multiple teams from a state are encouraged. There must be at least one junior participant on a team. 3. Team age Divisions shall be: a. Junior at least 9 and less than 14 years of age as of January 1, 2015 b. Senior at least 14 and less than 22 years of age as of January 1, 2015 *Junior Division age eligibility regulations can be found in the Junior Division Rules and Regulations section of the Premium Book. 4. A team member must wear a show harness with an exhibitor number issued by Show Officials. 5. Each team must provide their own beef animal for the contest (any steer or any heifer). 6. Contestants must bring any and all materials needed to the fitting area generators are strongly encouraged. Little to no electricity is available in the contest area. 7. Contestants may not use inappropriate fitting methods. Unethical fitting situations include, but are not limited to: a. Any altering of the natural color of the animal by the use of dyes, paints, hair coloring conditions, colored show foam, graphite, colored powders or other substances. b. The addition of any hair or hair-like substance (including twine), false tailheads, and false polls (false tail switches ARE allowed). 8. Time limit: 30 minutes. 9. Clippers may be used at the discretion of team members. 10. Judges will base placing on both fitting techniques and final results. 11. In the event of a sub-final or final heat, teams will be allowed 5 minutes back in the chute. 12. Criteria for Supervising Adult: The Adult may not help, touch animal, or assist participants except in the case of preventing injury; Adult may NOT tell participants what to do or coach participants but MAY give encouragement. AWARDS Significant prizes and awards will be provided by Sullivan Supply. The retail value of the awards presented will be $1500.

Entries must be received in the Arizona National Office by December Posters become the property of the Arizona National and are not returned. 3. The Poster Contest Entry Form with the name, address, telephone number, and address of the contestant must be clearly PRINTED and taped/glued on the back of each entry. The signature, address and telephone number of the teacher, 4-H club leader or FFA chapter advisor must also appear. Posters will be disqualified for awards unless all information is on each poster. 4. Posters will be displayed at the Arizona National Livestock Show. 5. Posters are judged according to their relationship to the Arizona National Livestock Show purpose in regards to the educational content, clarity, neatness, and originality of the poster message. K-8 STUDENTS, AND 4-H AND FFA MEMBERS POSTER CONTEST 1. Contest is open to all active 4-H and FFA members in good standing, and K-8 students. 2. Entries must be submitted and identified on the poster with the required Poster Identification Sheet in one of the following categories: 4-H member, FFA member, or K-8 students. These are NOT separate categories of awards. All information on the Poster identification Sheet must be filled in and legible, and attached to the back of the poster. 3. Individual contestants may enter one poster in each class. 4. Posters are to be made on 22" x 28" regular hard poster board. Posters of other sizes may be accepted and shown but disqualified from any awards. PREMIUMS The following awards will be offered to the winners in each of the seven categories (open, cattle, sheep, swine, horses and goats). Posters not specific to a single species will be considered "open." 7 th Annual Arizona National Livestock Show Page 101 FFA PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST CHAIRMAN: Bruce Baskett COMMITTEE: Lisa Baskett, Cliff Saylor, Kevin Rogers 9:00 AM, Monday, December 29, 2014 Entries are due November 15 Manuscripts are due December 10 ENTRIES 1. Open to any NON-Greenhand Arizona FFA member who is a high school student and currently taking an agricultural education course or has completed all the agricultural education courses offered. Contestants who have won the Arizona State Prepared Public Speaking Career Development Event are not eligible to compete. 2. Contest is limited to two (2) contestants per chapter and a maximum of 15 entries in the contest. 3. Due Dates: November 15th is the entry deadline. Entry form must include the $5.00 entry fee. Entries must be received in the Arizona National Office on or before the deadline, OR must be postmarked by a U.S. Post Office on or before the deadline and received in the Arizona National Office within seven (7) days of the deadline. Metered postmarks are not acceptable for entries received after the deadline. Once entry is received you will receive an confirmation indicating the address for submitting your speech by December 10th. December 10th speech as a word document, double spaced formatted for 8 1/2 x 11 paper along with a complete and accurate bibliography used in writing the speech. Only electronic submission of speech will be accepted. Speech manuscript should be ed to: meg@anls.org. 4. Contestants shall be in Official FFA dress. 5. The theme of the speech will be: Agriculture in Arizona. The topic of the speech can be related to any aspect of agriculture, but must be tied to Arizona (i.e., production agriculture, agribusiness, marketing/processing, or agricultural issues, etc.). A contestant who fails to relate or emphasize Arizona agriculture in their speech is subject to disqualification. 6. Speeches will be a minimum of 6 minutes in length and a maximum of 8 minutes. A contestant will be disqualified from the contest if the speech is less than five minutes thirty seconds OR more than eight minutes thirty seconds. Upon being introduced, the contestant shall proceed immediately to the speaking position. Timing will begin with contestant's first definite verbal or non-verbal communication with the audience. This will usually be the first word uttered by the contestant, but would include any other communication such as sound effects, a staged act by another person, etc. 7. All contestants in this Contest should give credit to others when any direct quotes, phrases, or special dates are used in the manuscript, in order not to be guilty of plagiarism. A bibliography MUST be included as part of the public speaker's manuscript. Direct quotes from any source of information must be in quotation marks on the manuscript and be identified in the bibliography. Failure to do so will automatically disqualify a contestant. 8. Contest Results and Awards - Youth Building ENTRY DEADLINE is December 10 The Arizona National Livestock Show Skill-A-Thon is a hands-on competition that rewards outstanding young people who possess the skills and knowledge essential for efficient and humane production of livestock in a seedstock or commercial operation. Open to any 4-H and FFA youth along with collegiate participants, the contest provides the opportunity for youth to apply their knowledge to a variety of topics related to the production and management of beef cattle, swine, sheep and meat goats. Participants compete within multiple, age-appropriate categories including: genetics, livestock anatomy, livestock nutrition, livestock equipment, meat processing, wholesale/retail cut identification, meats evaluation, analysis of EPDs, evaluation of wool fleeces, hay judging, judging livestock performance, and using common calculations to measure animal performance and profitability. Rotations and categories that will be utilized will be posted 24 hours prior to the start of the contest. Exceptions or changes will be made for time conflicts with prior notification to chairman. The ANLS Junior Livestock Skill-A-Thon is sponsored by Sullivan Supply. CONTEST FORMAT 1. This contest is open to the world as long as contestants meet all other rules and regulations of the Arizona National Livestock Show. Entry in the Livestock competition is not required. 2. This contest is for both individual and team contestants. 3. Each division will consist of individual and team rotations. The divisions are required to complete the following: a. Junior: two (2) team rotations and three (3) individual rotations b. Senior: two (2) team rotations and three (3) individual rotations plus a quiz c. Collegiate: two (2) team rotations and three (3) individual rotations plus a quiz 4. Individual rotations include: Livestock Equipment, Feedstuff Identification, Breeds of Livestock, Retail Cuts of Meat, Hay Judging, and Wool Judging. 5. Team rotations include: Quality Assurance, Meat Carcass Evaluation, Animal Breeding Exercise, Livestock Evaluation, Livestock Feeding and Performance. 6. Rotations that will be utilized in the contest will be posted and announced 24 hours prior to contest on the ANLS website at COMBINED CONTEST 1. This Junior Livestock Skill-A-Thon Contest and the Collegiate Livestock Skill-A-Thon Contest will be combined. Junior and Collegiate contestants will complete rotations together. If one individual desires to enter and is unable to be on a team due to their county or chapter choosing not to attend the Contest, that individual may enter the contest as a team of one and pay the $5 individual entry fee. There is no limit on the number of teams or Additional Individuals above the four-member team. 3. Late Fees: An entry form and late fee of $5 per form will be required for entries delivered or post-marked after the entry deadline of December 10. Late entries will be accepted up until 9:30 AM on the day of the contest. 4. The Contest is open to all FFA and 4-H members in good standing. Members of 4-H teams must be from the same county, members of FFA teams must be from the same FFA chapter. Collegiate teams can consist of any four members that are eligible for the collegiate division. 5. Teams and individuals will compete in the Junior, Senior or Collegiate Division. Collegiate participants must be either currently enrolled in college OR a member of a National Junior Livestock Association. Collegiate members must be less than 22 years old on the day of the contest. 11. A Collegiate team can consist of any four members that are eligible for the collegiate division. FFA, 4-H and Collegiate teams and individuals compete together. Awards are given for team and individual scores in each division. 13. Junior and Senior Division contestants may not be entered in or completed a college or university level animal science course. b. 4-H Contestants cannot have competed at the National 4-H Livestock Skill-A-Thon Contest. c. Cell phones and electronic devices need to be left with coaches or Contest Officials until the contest is finished. 20. Contestants are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes/boots for safety, and an ANLS T-shirt for the contest. 21. Rule violations will cause disqualification, forfeiture of all awards, and the possibility of being barred from future competition. 22. The winning Arizona 4-H team at the Arizona National Livestock Show will be the official team that is eligible to represent Arizona 4-H at the National 4-H Livestock Skill-A-Thon Contest at the NAILE, in Louisville, Kentucky, the subsequent November. This competition is open to any current FFA member in good standing in the United States. Exhibitors will have the option to sell their projects at the Silent Auction while on display. Only items that qualify for judging will be eligible for the Silent Auction. All Division, Reserve Best of Show and Best of Show winners MUST sell. A 20% commission will be deducted from the purchase price of each project sold to cover Auction expenses and to benefit the Arizona National Livestock Scholarship Fund. 3. Entry deadline is December 1 st. Entry forms must be received in the Arizona National Livestock Show Office on or before the deadline, OR must be postmarked by a U.S. Post Office on or before the deadline and received in the Arizona National Office within seven (7) days of the deadline. Metered postmarks are not acceptable for entries received after the deadline. Entry forms are available online, from the Arizona National Livestock Show Office, and FFA advisors. 2. Fees: $10 per exhibitor fee. Purchase Orders will NOT be accepted. A $50 service fee will be charged on all returned checks. 3. Each exhibitor is allowed to enter from 1 to 10 projects for the $10 fee. 4. Exhibitors entered by November 15 will have the option of paying an additional $12 Exhibitor fee and receive an ANLS Exhibitor T-Shirt. 5. The objective of the Arizona Ranch Replacement Heifer Show and Sale is to provide an opportunity for Arizona Cattle Ranchers to showcase the best replacement females representing their genetic program and its superior offering of heifers that are Arizona raised and Rock Footed. These cattle will work in tough southwest environments and produce calves each year that fit real world agriculture. All cattle will be subjected to a rigorous pre show sift to guarantee a standard of perfection and soundness required by any cattle buyer. ENTRIES 2. The entry fee is $ per pen. A completed entry form and fees are due by NOVEMBER 30. A $25 discount will be offered to those submitting a completed entry form with a discount price of $75 per pen by October 1. All

Entry is a pen of three ranch raised, commercial replacement quality heifers. Heifers may be either purebred or crossbred. Entry is open to Arizona raised cattle from Arizona owned ranches. Four Divisions will be offered: Division I: European and British Breeds; Pen of (3) three Bred Heifers (purebreds and/or crossbreds); Females months of age on or before December 31, Consignors must provide pregnancy verification signed by an accredited, non-owner, licensed veterinarian at time females are processed at the show. Entries and fees received after pen space is full will be returned. 5. All heifers in a pen must be raised by the ranch and carry the ranch brand and display a permanent ear tag. 6. Each pen of three heifers will be housed in the same pen. 7. Cattle are shown in their work clothes, NO FITTING allowed. This includes clipping, washing and trimming hoofs. 8. Ranches are responsible for feed and care of the heifers while on the grounds. Ranches are to provide their own feed and water troughs/buckets and hoses. JUDGING 9. Pens will be judged as one entry. 10. The Judges will select a Champion Pen and a Reserve Champion Pen for each Division. A Supreme Champion Pen and Reserve Supreme Champion Pen will be selected. Final sale offering and order will be determined by the Show Committee. AUCTION 11. All pens of heifers will sell at Auction. No private treaty sales are allowed for heifers entered in this Show. 12. Sale order will be determined by the auctioneer and sale committee. 13. Heifers are to be sold as a pen of three and sold on a per head basis. 14. A seven percent (7%) commission is charged on all sales and will be deducted from sale proceeds. 15. Terms of Sale are cash or check. Payment is to be made to the clerk on the day of the Auction. A valid driver s license is required as identification for all checks. 16. All sales are final and binding. 17. Consignors will receive their checks through the mail as soon as possible after the close of the Show. 18. All representations, including but not limited to, breeding, soundness, fertility, health and vaccinations, are made by the consignor, not by the Arizona National. 19. Cattle will be housed in pens with sand for bedding. 20. All cattle must be safe to handle under normal cattle, close quarters, sorting conditions. EVALUATION 21. All heifers must be a minimum of 500 lbs. each as of show day and must have been weaned at least 45 days. 22. Vaccination requirements for all heifers beyond standard health rules of the Arizona National requirements are: All cattle must be treated and in accordance with the VAC 45 program. It is highly recommended that all cattle be calf hood vaccinated with Brucella abortis strain 19 with appropriate certification. Note: Calf hood vaccination will be required for All other ANLS health rules apply. 23. All cattle must be approved by the show committee. The Show committee shall perform a rigorous quality sift prior to the actual judging and cattle may be disqualified if quality standards are not consistent with real life commercial ranching environments within Arizona and the Southwest. Soundness and disposition will be evaluated.

16 th Annual Arizona National Livestock Show Page 110 Li l BUCKAROO RODEO ENTRIES 1. Entry Fee is $20 and must be paid in CASH at time of entry. Entry Fee is NON- REFUNDABLE 2. Entries are taken at the Main Office. Entries open at 8 am on December 27 and close 1 hour prior to each performance. 3. A maximum of 40 entries will be accepted per performance. 4. Riders can weigh no more than 60 pounds and will be weighed just prior to riding. GENERAL RULES 5. All riders parents must sign a liability waiver. 6. No riggings are allowed. 7. Riders are allowed, but not required to use two hands during their ride. 8. Western attire is recommended but not required. No spurs are allowed. 9. The competition is overseen by a time keeper and two judges. Each judge will award a possible 50 points: 25 points for the sheep; 25 points for the rider. The rider with the highest score is the winner. Each ride is five seconds. 10. No exhibition rides allowed at final competition. 11. No parents allowed behind Bucking Chutes. 12. All riders must wear a safety helmet and have the option of wearing a protective vest. Helmet and vest are provided by the Arizona National Livestock Show. 13. All contestants who compete receive a t-shirt and blue ribbon. 17 th Annual Arizona National Livestock Show Page 111 YOUTH PEDAL TRACTOR PULL ENTRIES 1. Entry Fee is $5.00 and must be paid in CASH at time of entry. Entry Fee is NON- REFUNDABLE 2. Entries open an hour prior to each performance on December in the Farm Experience at the Youth Pedal Tractor Pull area. 3. Entries close 30 minutes prior to each performance. 4. A maximum of 10 entries per class per performance will be accepted. GENERAL RULES 5. All contestant parents must sign a liability waiver. 6. Contestant must remain in seat, be in full control and operate in a safe manner at all times. 7. No parents are allowed in the pedal tractor lane area. 8. The winner of each class will be determined by who can pedal the tractor down the track the farthest while pulling a weight transfer sled. 9. Any misconduct will disqualify a contestant. 10. A maximum of 10 entries per class will be accepted per performance. 11. All contestants who compete receive a participation ribbon. 12. Pulling order will be assigned at time of registration. 13. At least two entries per class or the class may be combined with another class. 14. There will be no jerking at any time on the chain of the sled. 15. At least one hand must be on the steering wheel of the tractor at all times. Forward motion is considered stopped when the sled pull chain becomes loose or the child cannot pull anymore, at the track official s discretion. 16. When any part of the tractor or sled touches the boundary line, the pull is done. 17. Full pull contestants will return for a pull off. 18. If the equipment should malfunction, the child gets a re-pull. 19. All track officials decisions will be final. 20. We reserve the right to stop an individual pull at our discretion if the possibility of injury is present. 21. Children are required to wear shoes; no sandals or bare feet will be allowed. 22. Each child gets 45 sec. time limit to pull.
