Club members remember that in order to compete, practice attendance is mandatory. 4-H Horse and Pony Club Club Meetings Thursday, February 11th Monday, February 22nd 4-H Cloverbuds Club Meeting Thursday, February 18th 4:00pm This club is for all 5-8 year olds and offers a wonderful introduction to 4-H activities. Please call to RSVP by Wednesday, February 17th. 4-H Teen Club Club Meeting Tuesday, February 23rd 6:00pm This club is for all high schoolers interested in 4-H. We will be discussing upcoming teen events as well as planning future events.

3 Kentucky 4-H Summit Middle School Conference March 17th-19th Kentucky 4-H Leadership Center Jabez, KY Join middle school students from across the state for a great three day conference! Three days/two Nights Meet and get to know middle school students from across the state Educational and fun workshops Group games and sports opportunities Ice cream social and dance If interested, please contact the Woodford County Extension Office at (859) Spots are limited and participants must be a current middle school student. Cost is $115 which includes meals and snacks, room, transportation and workshop supplies. Deadline to register is February 18th

4 Woodford County 4-H Summer Camp 2016 When: July 11th-July 15th, 2016 Where: J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp London, KY Who: Franklin, Scott and Woodford Counties Cost: $210 (Includes transportation, meals, lodging and all activities) *Half-scholarships are available by application* 4-H Summer Camp is for anyone who is either 9-years old before July 11th or entering the 4th grade in the fall of Deadline for applications is June 1st and a deposit of $50 is required when the application is returned to hold a spot. 5 4-H Upcoming Events and Notes 4-H Camp Counselors Needed If you are interested in helping make 4-H Camp the best week of the summer for many Woodford County Youth while also having a great time yourself, then we need you to come to 4-H Camp! Adult and Teen Counselor Applications are now available for 4-H Camp *NEW THIS YEAR* Both Adult and Teen Counselors will be able to attend 4-H Camp for free in 2016! Attending adult counselors may also bring one camper for free! For more information please call (859) or Ryan at ryan.farley@uky.edu 4-H Cloverbud Camp 2016 Join other Cloverbud families at 4-H Cloverbud Camp, June 18th-20th. Cost is $110 for participants and camp will be held at J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp in London, KY. 4-H Cloverbud Camp is for any 5-8 year olds interested in getting a taste of what 4-H Summer Camp is all about! Participants will take classes, participate in camp-wide games, take part in a campfire, swim and have a great time at 4-H Camp. For more information please call (859)

6 4-H Upcoming Events and Notes 4-H Livestock Judging Begins If you re interested in livestock and the livestock industry, come out and join the Woodford County 4-H Livestock Judging team. Practices begin February 26th at 4pm at the Woodford County Extension Office and is open to all 4-H age youth. No prior livestock experience is needed and competitions begin on March 12th. For more information or to sign-up, please plan on attending the Livestock Club meeting on February 2nd or call the Woodford County Extension Office at (859) Woodford County 4-H Shooting Sports Chili Potluck It s that time of year again! Whether it s rifle, trap or archery, if you are interested in participating in 4-H shooting sports this year with Woodford County, join us at the Woodford County Extension Office for our annual kick-off chili potluck meal! 7 4-H Upcoming Events and Notes 4-H Winter Weather Policy As winter weather approaches, just a friendly reminder that in the event that Woodford County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, all 4-H meetings are cancelled. Dates to Remember Beef Livestock Tagging Dates: February 20th - Kentucky Beef Expo March 5th - Boyle County Small Animal Livestock Tagging Dates: April 30th - Boyle County May 14th - Clark County May 19th - Bourbon County 4-H Teen Conference June 13th-16th University of Kentucky All current high school students are eligible We hope you will consider contributing to the United Way of the Bluegrass during their fall campaign drive. United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life - a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Woodford County 4-H is directly supported by the United Way through an annual Local Grant program. You may also choose to have part or all of your annual contribution go directly to Woodford County 4-H by selecting Woodford County 4-H Council as the specific agency you would like to support. Selecting the Education Initiative will also support the local grant program.
