2 PAGE 2 IPSC IDPA Match Shotgun Indoor Shooting Cowboy Action Mike Reitz October 22nd saw five buffalo hunters out at the long range and on the 23rd, nineteen cowboys ran off the bad guys. Long Range, Lever Action, Rifle cal. Blazing Buzzard. Long Range, Lever Action, Pistol cal. El Mulo Vaquero. Long Range, Single Shot: Blanco Billy Bagley..22 Range Lever Action Rifle, in a shoot off: El Mulo Vaquero. Stage Results: 49er Classic Cowboy Duelist Elder Statesman Ladies Traditional Modern Senior, and O/A Senior Duelist Traditional Next Shoots, Nov 26 and 27. Near Shot Largo Casey Shaky Shane Sand Branch Panchita Villa Ogallala Cat Blazing Buzzard Hoss Carpenter El Mulo Vaquero Long Step, and Lady Long Step, Ole Wise Sass and Hoss Styles caught the stage to Tucson, followed by O Bar Freddie and his wagon boss in their covered wagon to join the good, the bad, and the ugly at Bordertown, the Arizona State Championship. The shootout took place October 20 23rd and 293 cowboys and cowgirls rang steel. When the smoke cleared, Long Step was 2nd Traditional, Lady Long Step was 5th Ladies Traditional and O Bar Freddie was 3rd Elder Statesman. The other two cowboys only took home their pride..22 Benchrest Frank Blackmer FEDERATION NEWS A.22 benchrest competition was held on September 18th. The Match Winner was Rudy Smith, while First Place Master for AAA was Chip Snapp, while Darrick Smith took both Single A and Double AA Classes. All three classes were combined as competitors numbers were down. Hunter Pistol Match Frank Blackmer September 16th was the day for the Hunter Pistol Match for Small Bore Hunter Pistol. The Match Winner was Chris Walker. AAA and Masters winner was Don Varenhorst. Harvey Green took First Place in the AA Class and Billy Valencia was second. There were eight shooters participating. The Hunter Pistol Match Winner was Chris Walker. First Place went to Bob Jackson of Durango. In the AA Class the First Place inner went to Billy Valencia and second went to Harvey Green. Taking proper care of a firearm will also maintain its value and extend its life. A firearm should be cleaned every time that it is used. Regular cleaning is needed to insure that a firearm will operate properly and reliably. Cleaning also preserves the finish and protects against rust. If a firearm is stored for a long period of time, it should be carefully cleaned before it is fired. Dirt and moisture can accumulate in the pistol and may cause it to malfunction. GUN CLIPS Bobbie Bishop Three Fundamentals of Gun Safety Rules: 1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. 2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. 3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Follow the rules for each range: 14. The East Canyon is for pistol, rifles that shoot pistol cartridges and shotguns. The East ranges for high power rifles. The main building is for indoor small bore matches. The first West Range is for pistol and rifles that shoot pistol cartridges and shotgun. The west Shotgun range is for shotgun only. Thrown targets can only be shot on the West shotgun range. The South shotgun patterning range is for shotgun only. 15. Shotguns are not to be fired at the Celotex target boards. These are for rifle and pistols only. 16. Absolutely no shooting of any glass objects. 17. No Smoking around the muzzle loader shooters who are behind the line. 18. No capping or priming of muzzleloaders until on the firing line. 19. All matches will be open to the public unless otherwise stated. 20. Special event range scheduling must be approved by the Executive Officer. 21. The Executive Officer and Range Officers have total control of all range activities. 22. Whenever a regularly scheduled match is in progress on any of the ranges, there shall be no firing permitted on next adjacent range. However, the Match Director may allow a shooter to use the adjacent range. 23. Vehicular travel on the range is restricted to existing roads only. 24. Put all trash in the provided trash cans and brass in the brass buckets. 26. Please close and lock the gate when entering and leaving the range. The gate is to remain open for matches and meetings. 27. All members are responsible for the safe range practices. In the event of any violation you should contact the range officers, or any Board Member.
