1 OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION Perry County 4-H News Spring 2017 Dear 4-H Family, WELCOME...AND WELCOME BACK! Spring has officially, and FINALLY, arrived...and the H year is underway! Please READ THROUGH this newsletter to stay current on the latest Perry County 4-H info! Your family should have received the 2017 Perry County 4-H Family Handbook which includes rules/policies, livestock requirements, and important H dates...be sure to look through it if you have questions! If your club is still waiting on project books, they might be ready at our office...give us a call to check! And as our policy states, non-livestock projects can be added/changed through May 1, so if you want to make any changes, call or us before that deadline. Additionally, A BIG THANK YOU to all of our VOLUNTEER 4-H club advisors! The great outcomes that 4-H achieves would not be possible without the commitment you make to our Perry County youth! Age categories include: Cloverbuds, 8-11 year olds, year olds, and year olds. Cards should be designed on 1/4 sheet of paper. Be creative! Use markers, crayons, colored pencils, the computer...there are no limits on your creativity! Consider making thank-you cards as a part of your club meeting. One entry per Thank You Cards DUE to our office - May 5th member. Please put the member s name, 4-H age, and club on the back of their card. Winning cards in each age category will be printed and sold this summer! Booth Theme & Awards This is our optional theme for 2017: GREEN NEW this year, instead of clubs voting, booths will be independently evaluated, and 5 clubs will be awarded as an Outstanding 4-H Club Booth. Clubs will receive a 4-H rosette that they can keep! Candy Bar Sale Update THANK YOU to all the clubs that have participated this year (and those clubs that have chosen to donate to the 4-H Fund instead). Remember, money for candy bar sales is due to the Extension Office by May 1st! Your club pays $48 for each 60-count box sold, with the remaining $12 as your club profit. AND remember, members can receive $12 off their 4-H Camp fee for each box of candy bars sold...simply turn your master club sale list in with your payment! WE STILL HAVE a small amount of candy available if you are interested in that camp discount!!
