4 Laws of the Game The recreational program is a great time for players, coaches, and referees to learn the laws of the game. Please be patient with our new referees, considerate of our coaches, and be sure to focus on fun for the players! Start of Play (kick-off) 1. The kick-off is decided by coin toss. 2. All players must be on their side of the fields. 3. Opposing players shall remain 5 yards from the center dot. 4. Ball must be kicked into opponents half of field. 5. Ball is out when it has wholly crossed either the touchline or goal line, whether in the air or on the ground. Scoring A goal is scored when the ball passes wholly over the end line between the goal posts and under the cross bar provided no law infraction has taken place.
