He may hange the pivot and moving foot provided his initial position does not hange. 2. The player reeives the all whilst running or jumping and omes to a stop efore he throws the all or shoots. The requirement is that, after seizing the all, he has immediately and fully tried to ome to a stop within the least possile distane. After oming to a stop, the same rules apply as mentioned under The player reeives the all whilst running or jumping and throws the all or shoots efore he has ompletely ome to a stop. In this ase the player is not allowed to still e in possession of the all at the moment that he plaes a foot on the ground for the third time after reeiving the all. It is permissile to do the following without infringing this rule: to ath or tap the all when it is over a oundary line provided the player stands inside the field to tap the all when the player is in the air outside a oundary line provided he jumped from inside the field n to shoot from a defended position A shot must e onsidered defended when the attaker shoots and the hindering defender satisfies the following onditions: he must atively e trying to lok the all AND whilst atively trying to lok the all he must i) e within arm s length of the attaker ii) have his fae turned towards the attaker and iii) e nearer the post than the attaker. If the attaker is so lose to the post that the hindering defender annot stand nearer the post then ondition iii) an e deemed to e satisfied if the defender and attaker are on opposite sides of the post and all other onditions are satisfied. If a player without a personal opponent does throw the all towards the korf and the referee deems this to e a shot, then a re-start is awarded to the other team. However, a player without a personal opponent an take a penalty. A hange in shooting player an only e made during a reak etween quarters. to influene a shot y moving the post If done y a defender - if it results in a goal the goal is awarded; if the referee is of the opinion that, ut for moving the post, a goal ould have een sored then a penalty is given; if the all reounds to a defender then a re-start is given to the attak. If done y an attaker - if it results in the all going through the korf, no goal is given and a re-start is given to the defene; if the all reounds to an attaker then a re-start is given to the defene The referee will not low his whistle when the post is moved y a defender and the all misses the korf y suh a margin that moving the post ould not have influened the result of the shot. s to take hold of the post when jumping, running or in order to move away quikly An infringement y an attaker is punished y the award of a re-start. 12 The field of play is not three-dimensional. It is therefore permitted to hit the all, wherever it may e, ak into the playing area, provided that the all has not touhed anything listed aove and the rule in 3.6 m is not violated. 3.8 Referee throw-up When two opponents seize the all simultaneously the referee will stop play and will throw the all up. The same applies when play must e re-started without one side eing entitled to the all. The referee hooses two players who must e of the same sex and if possile of aout the same height. The two players take up a position on either side of the referee with the defender taking up his position first. He must not plae his other foot (or touh the ground with any part of his ody) etween the virtual spot and the post efore the all has left his hand(s). From the moment that the taker of the free pass is at the spot with the all, the referee lifts one of his arms vertially and gives the signal with two fingers on his raised hand to indiate that he is going to whistle within 2 seonds for the pass to e taken. During this preparation period for a free pass the referee is allowed to punish any infringements of the rules. Following the raising of the arm there are two possiilities (see A and B elow). Possiility A: 1. All the players other than the taker are standing outside the virtual free pass irle. 2. The other attaking players, who must e standing outside the virtual free pass irle, must also e at a distane of at least 2.50 m from eah other. All the aove must exist within the maximum of two seonds preparation time following whih the referee shall low his whistle to restart play. The player taking the free pass is not allowed to sore diretly from the free pass. He an only sore when the all has een rought into play under situations 1 or 2, or has een rought into play under situation 3 and has een touhed y another player. An infringement is punished y a re-start to the defene from under the korf. Possiility B: When the players do not meet onditions 1 and 2 mentioned aove in A within the maximum of two seonds of the referee raising his arm, he will whistle twie quikly in suession, the first time to restart the game and the seond time to stop play, and punish the offender as follows:

14 If the infringement was made y a memer of the defending team then the free pass is ordered to e re-taken. When the defending team makes this infringement for the seond time at the same free pass the referee will give a penalty. If the infringement was made y a memer of the attaking team then a re-start is awarded to the defending team. If players from oth teams are within 2.50 m then the referee will punish the player who is nearest to the spot where the free pass is taken. If the referee onsiders players from oth teams are at the same inorret distane then the attaking team shall e penalised. The referee is the sole judge aout whether the all has een thrown y the taker of the pass for a distane of at least 1 m, has passed ompletely outside the free pass area or when eah period of three or one seonds has elapsed.
