Sunday, September 27th At the Tusayan Grand Canyon IMAX Theater (100 Mile finish) 10:00AM-2:00PM Post-race food and beverages Awards (relay finisher awards, 100 mile buckles, Babbitt Ranch Pendleton blankets to top men & women open & masters 100 milers). Random prizes Drop Bag retrieval. Cheer on relay and solo finishers! NOTE: Awards or drop bags will not be mailed. 2:00PM Course closes. 55K Drop Down: 100-mile runners may drop down to the 55K distance before the race. Just let us know at race check-in and we ll get you squared away. 100-mile soloists may also drop down to the 55K distance at Cedar Ranch (mile 34) on race day if you find you re not having a good day. We ll record you in the 55K results, but you ll be out of the running for any awards. Cell Phones: They do work in many places on the course if you use Verizon. Please carry them if you wish. My cell is (240) If you find yourself in an emergency situation please call 911 and Search and Rescue will be notified. Shuttles back to the start: We will NOT leave anyone stranded at Cedar Ranch or Tusayan. Simply communicate with us if you do not have a ride back to Flagstaff and we ll get you squared away. Vehicle GPS units: It s tempting to use the GPS units in your vehicles to determine where you need to go. Turn the unit OFF and use the instructions provided in the manual. These are the best routes in a country filled with poorly maintained roads, dead ends and false thoroughfares.

Course Marking: The majority of the course will be marked with orange & metallic grey striped pin flags, ribbon and the occasional directional arrow sign. The night sections will also be marked with reflective ribbon (so flashlights and headlamps will be important) and orange surveyor ribbon. Remember: Pin flags, directional arrows, reflective ribbon and Arizona Trail signs!!! Course Changes: Please note this one course clarification: At mile ~70-71 (between Russell Tank and Hull Cabin) you will NOT take the bike detour this year. Stay on the Arizona Trail through the small canyon. The area will be marked well.

Reed Tank Aid Station: This is the 100-mile runners last aid station (mile 98). This station will be unmanned until 6AM Sunday morning. After 6AM volunteers will be staffing the station. It will be self-serve (Water, coke, Heed and gels only) up until 6AM. Real food will be available after 6AM when the volunteers arrive. Tub Ranch Aid Station: We do allow crew and relay teams access to this aid station. However, if you do not have to go to this location please do not. The race course and access road to the station are one and the same. This road will be VERY dusty. Drive very slowly for safety reasons and so you don t dust out the runners. Watch for runners and cattle!!! Also Do NOT drive from Tub to Boundary aid station through Babbitt Ranch, PLEASE use the directions provided in the manual. Water Stashes: Daytime temps will be warm this year (near 80 in some places). There will be two unmanned water stashes along the trail: 3 miles north of Kelly Tank at about mile 24 2 miles north of Russell Tank at about mile 70 We encourage you to top-off as these sections are long, exposed and waterless. The 2015 Runner, Relay, Crew & Pacer Manual has been updated: This contains directions to all crew accessible stations and relay exchanges. PLEASE print this out and bring it with you! We will NOT have copies at pre-race or on race day as part of our greening effort: Overnight Parking: We must lock the entry gates to Hot Shots Ranch after the race begins. We do not want to leave any vehicles at Hot Shots Ranch. If you plan to leave your car overnight please arrive at 7AM so that we can get you checked in and shuttled to a satellite parking area (the northeast corner of HWY 180 and Snowbowl Road) in sufficient time. It s about a mile from the start. Gates & Cattle: You will be passing through prime cattle country. You may see cows on the course. If they happen to be in your way, simply go around them. You will pass through a number and types of cattle gates. PLEASE close any gates you pass through! Out & Backs on the Course: There are three short out and back sections on the course: 1) Hart Prairie Preserve (mile 9.5) 2) Moqui Stage Station (mile 60) 3) Hull Cabin (mile 80)

You must do these out and backs. We will be recording your bib numbers at these aid stations. If you do not check in at these aid stations then we will assume you have cut the course and you will NOT be shown in the results or get an award! Know where these out & backs come on the course and be alert for the course marking. Drop Bags, Crew Access, Relay Exchanges & Pacers: Drop Bag locations: Please label them well with your name, bib# and aid station location. Kelly Tank, Cedar Ranch, Boundary, Russell Tank, Hull Cabin, Watson Tank, Finish Line. Drop Bags will be brought to the Tusayan Finish Line after each aid station closes. Drop Bags will not be mailed. Crew locations: Kelly Tank, Cedar Ranch, Tub Ranch, Boundary, Russell Tank, Hull Cabin, Watson Tank, Finish Line. Pacer locations: Russell Tank, Hull Cabin, Watson Tank. If you wish to pace, you must sign a waiver (at pre-race check-in, the start line, or at one of these aid stations) and wear a PACER bib. Relay Exchanges: Fern Mountain, Kelly Tank, Cedar Ranch, Tub Ranch, Boundary, Russell Tank, Hull Cabin, Watson Tank Maps: Course maps have been updated with the help of Chris Rennaker. Please print out and use these maps on race day. We will not have extra copies. The course and relay routes have been included: Weather: Looking ideal! There will be a full moon! Clear at night & sun during the day. Be prepared for a warm day & cool evening temps! High: upper-70 s, Low: mid-40 s Medical: There will NOT be a medical weigh-in or any medical checks for 100-mile runners. The majority of our aid stations are staffed with Wilderness First Repsonders, EMT s, or Paramedics. If you are having issues please let us know! If any of our medical personnel believe you are endangering yourself please allow them to help you. Sweeps and Search and Rescue: We will have course sweeps. They will not pass the last runner. They will also be pulling course marking. If you are near the back-of-the-pack or struggling, the objective, with their help, is to get you to the NEXT aid station. If you step off the trail please leave a personal item (water bottle, pack, etc.) on the trail, so they don t sweep past you. Coconino County Sheriff Search and Rescue will also be out on the course on foot, vehicle, and horseback to ensure your safety.

Volunteers & Fundraising: Remember while you re out there to thank all the wonderful volunteers. Each aid station is sponsored by one of the following groups, organizations, and businesses: Arizona Trail Association, Flagstaff Ultrarunning Club, Babbitt Ranches, Babbitt Backcountry, Northern Arizona Trail Runners Association, American Conservation Experience, Grand Canyon Recreation Center, Grass Roots Events, and the Grand Canyon IMAX Theater. This race raises money for the Arizona Trail Association, Coconino Amateur Radio Club, and Coconino Sheriff Search and Rescue. Litter: Don t do it! Runner Tracking & Results: The races will be timed/scored using chip timing. Your bib will have a Radio Frequency Chip on the back covered with protective foam. Please do not damage (bend, remove, mutilate) the chip or foam. Wear your bib visibly on your chest. Use a pin for each corner of the bib. The bib and chip are disposable, no need to return. Please respect the finish line chute, cross the mats only once and proceed through to collect your finisher s medal and other goodies do not turn around and go back over the mats toward the course. Along the course ALL runners must check-out with volunteers as they pass through each aid station. We ll be passing this information on through our radio operators to other aid station and the finish. Getting you all to the finish safely is our top priority. We will also do our best to pass on information through our race s social media sites (Twitter and Facebook). If you have any last minute questions please the race director (Ian Torrence) at itgoes@aol.com or call his cell at (240) Thank you!
