BWPI WATER POLO GRAND FINALS The U16B team played in the Semi-final on the weekend against Somerville House. After battling through the storm and waiting for the lightning to pass the team came home strong with a 4-2 win. The U16B s finished the round games as minor premiers on top of the ladder. 2 CaSSSA SPORT TRIALS Trimester 2 sports Volleyball, Hockey & Soccer Students must attend the trial session/s for the sport and sign up on the trial sheet prior to the day of the trial to be eligible for selection. Trial sheets are outside the Sports Office. 3 CROSS COUNTRY NEWS MEET #2 BGGS- CANCELLED Please change into sports uniform at lunchtime & meet at the College bus by 3.10pm. No Fitness Training Thursday (26 th ) afternoon CAMP DATE CHANGE: The Cross Country camp will now be held in week 5 of term 2 Friday 22 rd & Saturday 23 rd May. The College Cross Country will be held on Wednesday 1 st April from to 3.00pm. Students may wear sports uniform on this day. After the completion of the carnival a team will be selected to continue to train for the CaSSSA Cross Country Cup on Friday 29 th May. CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING - Training sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during term time from am. There is a requirement for anyone wishing to be in the Cross Country team to attend both sessions each week. Fitness training is each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from pm. All students currently doing the fitness training are strongly encouraged to attend Cross Country training. HOLIDAY TRAINING - There will be training over the holidays these sessions will be on the Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7.00am 8.30am. Fitness training students are welcome to attend these sessions also. MSM Cross Country girls after BSHS meet on Tuesday 17 th.

4 PARK RUN This season we are joining in with the Marist cross country team and adding Park Runs to our training regime. Parkruns are free timed 5km runs which takes place at various locations around Brisbane (also Australia and the world). The Parkruns during term-time will always take place at Teralba Park, Mitchelton own transport will be required for these runs. However, on holidays, we will venture to new Parkrun venues such as Sandgate, Wynnum, New Farm & Southbank own transport will be required for these runs. Parkrun attendance is of course voluntary, however, we hope that these are well supported. At all Parkruns, it is expected that you wear the MSM Cross Country singlet so that we represent the College as a united group. This is not a school event staff supervision will not be provided. Parents will be responsible for transport and supervision. To participate in Parkruns, you need to register your details through the website the steps are as follows: 1. Visit website: 2. Fill our rego form: Follow the prompts and fill out the form with your details where it asks you to select your Running Club, please choose Mt St Michaels 3. Print off barcodes: Once registered, you will soon be ed a page of six barcodes please save this document and print it. You will need to bring one of these with you every time you run (these are scanned post-race and your time will be ed to you later in the day). Note: If you would like me to laminate these for you, simply forward your barcode through to me (thaydock@msm.qld.edu.au) and I will organise this and return it to you.

5 Tennis Tennis Captains please return your Score Cards to the box outside the Sports Office by morning tea on Monday. All results & ladders are available one the CaSSSA website. This weekend is the final round of games before the Easter Holiday break. Semi-Finals are on Saturday 2 ND May information for these teams will be sent out as soon as possible. Training commences the 1 st week back in Term 2. TENNIS ROUND 7 ROUND 5 RESULTS SOME IMPORTANT REMINDERS: 1. WET WEATHER FOR TRAINING - training will not take place in inclement weather. If it is raining on the morning of your tennis training you can call Matt Limpus on to confirm if training has been cancelled. 2. WET WEATHER FOR GAMES - You must turn up for your game regardless of the weather. Every opportunity to play will be given. There is a maximum 60minute delay time before a game will be cancelled.

6 CaSSSA Trimester 2 Sports Trimester 2 sports (hockey, volleyball, netball and soccer) commence on Wednesday 20 th May and training for all teams commencing the week of Monday 4 th May. (N.B. Open, Senior and Intermediate Netball training commences on Tuesday 28 th April) Intermediate Squad Training Sessions: Thursday 26th March Outdoor Court 2 Thursday 23rd April Sophia Centre Junior Volleyball teams will be finalised by the end of term. Soccer and Hockey teams will be finalised in week 2 of Term 2, please check the Sports Notice Board. Team numbers will be dependent on the MSM Netball Teams number of coaches available.
