5 He is Al-Awwal (The First: nothing is before Him) and Al- Aakhir (The Last: nothing is after Him), Adh-dhaahir (The Most High: nothing is above Him) and Al-Baatin (the Most Near: nothing is nearer than Him). Truly, the religion with Allaah is the Islaam. ه و الا و ل و الا خ ر و الظ اه ر وال ب اط ن إ ن الد ين ع ن د الا س لام ا الله ãîγ à9$#uρ ãåzfψ$#uρ ãα ρf{$# uθèδ ß ÏÛ$t7ø9$#uρ «!$# y Ψã š $!$# βî) ÞΟ n=ó M}$# ١٠ ١١ س ب ح ان ه و ت ع ال ى Names and attributes of Allaah WRITING RULES - The word ب االله in line 2: is composed of the preposition ب اء and the word we ه م ز ة ال و ص ل When we attach a preposition to a word that starts with.االله do not delete ال و ص ل,ه م ز ة we keep it as in «!$Î/ - The word ب س م in line 1: is composed of the preposition ب اء and the word.اس م But ه م ز ة ال و ص ل was deleted: this is a special case that occurs only if you mention the full ب س م ل ة i.e. الر ح يم ب س م االله الر ح م ن, but if we only write a part of it, for example: ه م ز ة ال و ص ل with ب اس م االله " In the name of Allaah" it is written -The word ال ج ان in line 4: has a (Madd sign) in the Qur'aan script over Alif β!$yfø9$# this sign when followed by ش د ة it is read by lengthening the long vowel of six counts. 6 - The words م اء,الس م اء in line 6: also have a (Madd sign) in the Qur'aan script over Alif Ï!$yϑ 9$# [!$tβ this sign when followed by ه م ز ة it is read by lengthening the long vowel of four counts. This is a Tajweed rule. - The preposition م ن : has normally a fixed س ك ون at the end, as we see in line 4, but in line 6, it came with ف ت ح ة at the end, is that contradicting the )? م ب ن ي ( form rule we had before: the prepositions do not change of No, because the change here is not due to the position of that word in the sentence, but only to avoid reading two س ك ون following each other: The ه م ز ة and the one the following م ن Sukoon at the end of the preposition (Shaddah is الس ماء in the word (س ك ون (which always come before a ال و ص ل composed of س ك ون + Mark) To avoid that, the first س ك ون in the word م ن is changed to ف ت ح ة with م ن م ن االله م ن الس ماء Ex. 7 Advise for this lesson: Know Your Lord through His names $pκí5 çνθã Š$sù 4 o_ó çtø:$# â!$oÿôœf{$#!uρ "And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them" Knowledge of the Names of Allaah is the basis for all other knowledge. Ibn Al-Qayyim ر ح م ه (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Knowledge of the Most Beautiful Names of Allaah is the basis of all other kinds of knowledge, for all of these other branches of knowledge are devoted to either a command or a creation of His Belief in Allaah, His Names and Attributes is one of the pillars of faith, and is also one of the categories of Tawheed, i.e. 'Tawheed Al-asmaa was-sifaat'. It is not possible for anyone to worship Allaah in a complete way until he has acquired knowledge of the Names and Attributes of Allaah. All of Allaah s names are beautiful, this means, they reach the utmost limits of beauty. That is because the Names include perfect Attributes that have no possible defects in any way whatsoever. Each of the names of Allaah also shows His attributes. For example: (the All Merciful) is the name of Allaah the Exalted, and it includes الر ح م ن perfect Mercy. 8 Revision of the previous lessons You might ask: why did we start explaining the conjugation of the Arabic word at the very beginning of this book? The answer for this is that understanding the meaning of the sentence will not be complete if students do not understand the position of each word in the sentence i.e. is it ف اع ل م ف ع ول ب ه..etc. And that position is clarified by the mark that the word has on the last letter. Look carefully at the following example: أ ك ل ال و ل د الد ج اج ة - أ ك ل الد ج اج ة ال و ل د ) ال ف اع ل ( hen In both sentences, we understand that the one who ate the is ال و ل د because of the Dammah it has at the end. Even if we keep the object first; it is still obvious to all of us that the hen الد ج اج ة - which is (ال م ف ع ول ب ه ) is the thing that was eaten (the object) because of the Fat-hah ف ت ح ة at the end. 10 12- إن is a particle that means " verily or indeed". It comes at the beginning of a اس م ي ة.ج م ل ة In that case we change the name of ال م ب ت د أ to ا س م إ ن and its ف ت ح ة to ض م ة i.e. from م ن ص وب to م ر ف وع case changes from The name of. م ر ف وع but it remains in the case of خ ب ر إ ن change to ال خ ب ر 13- The Arabic preposition ح ر ف ج ر can be formed of only one letter, that is attached, to the beginning of a noun. The Noun following a preposition is called ك س ر ة which means it will have م ج ر ور and is in the case of اس م م ج ر ور at the end. م ج ر ور and is in the case of م ض اف إ ل ي ه 14- The possessor is called in Grammar which means, it will have ك س ر ة at the end. 15- The noun before a م ض اف إ ل ي ه cannot have Tanween. 16- If any noun ends with long vowel Alif, we do the conjugation as usual but we say that the mark ك س ر ة ف ت ح ة ض م ة is م ق د ر ة (assumed), because we cannot add any mark to the long vowel Alif. The most common coordinating conjunctions ح ر وف ال ع ط ف are: A coordinating conjunction ا ل ف is a particle which connects two (and) و ث م (then) أ و (or) The noun after ح ر ف ال ع ط ف is called ال م ع ط وف and follows the noun before case. in the grammatical ح ر ف ال ع ط ف ال ق م ر الح ق و الد ين Ex. ال و ل د و ال ب ن ت الش م س و "و ح ر ف ال ع ط ف Notice that the noun after ح ر ف ال ع ط ف before " has the same mark of the one The particle ( و ) can sometimes be used in a different way, not as coordinating conjunctions.
