22 CAUTION Oilskin Garment Introduction OILSKIN FABRIC The origins of Oilskin fabric can be traced back to the Sea. Sailors learnt that treating old cotton sails with linseed oil would produce a hard wearing weather proof finish, long before the advent of synthetic waterproof fabric. Technology has moved on since these times and our Caution Oilskin fabric is now made from new 100% Cotton fabric, tightly woven and treated with a special formulation of Oils & Waxes to provide a superior Water Resistance and Durability. They are sewn with a specially formulated thread which is non-wicking and also accepts the oil treatment to ensure a water resistant seam. Additionally, our range of Caution Hi Vis Oiskins have a Hi Vis outer layer sewn overtop of the regular Oilskin fabric. This is to ensure that the uncompromising performance and durability of the garment remains the same with an added benefit of AS/NZS certified Performance & Visibility. OUR UNIQUE FEATURES Internal Zipped Cellphone pocket inside the Storm Flap Generous sized cellphone pocket, convieniently located inside the storm flap for ease of access & Zipped to ensure safe storage of your phone. Domed Storm Flap over the Main Zip Storm flap ensures water cannot enter the main zipper and also allows the Hi Vis Oilskins to fully comply with the requirements of AS/NZS Oilskin lined Anti-Sag tail Instead of the fleece lining extending to the bottom of the Tail, our Oilskin Vests & Jackets have Oilsin fabric for the inside lining of the Tail. This ensures that even as the Fleece lining stretches with age it will not hang out the bottom of the garment. It also avoids the fleece lining getting wet when riding ATVs & Motorbikes. OILSKIN CARE INSTRUCTIONS When new a small amount of Oil from the Oilskin Waterproofing Process may remain on the surface of the Garment. This is normal and will disperse with natural use. To assist this process you may rinse the garment manually in cold water and hang it to dry in a warm, well ventilated place. To Clean, either hang the garment and hose it down or rinse manually in Cold water. Any excess dirt can be removed carefully with a brush or damp cloth. Hang in a well ventilated place to dry and to store. To ensure long lasting performance periodically apply an Oilskin reproofing wax to the oilskin fabric & seams 19
