2 The notation [DP] in a rule in the NOR means that the penalty for a breach of that rule may, at the discretion of the protest committee, be less than disqualification. 1. ORGANISATION The GC32 TPM MED CUP 2018 Organising Authority (OA) will be the company SIRIUS EVENTS, an establishment affiliated with FF Voile (the French Federations of Sailing), in partnership with the GC32 Class Association. 2. RULES The event is governed by: 2.1. The Rules as defined in the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) Fast Boat Edition v Class Rules and interpretations [DP] GC32 Racing Tour Rules [DP] If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 3. ADVERTISING 3.1. World Sailing Regulation 20 Advertising Code, as modified by the 2018 GC32 Racing Tour Rules Appendix 1 5 shall apply [DP] Identification decals for the forward 25% section of the hulls and behind the aft beam and will provided by the OA and must be visible throughout the event [DP]. 4. ELIGIBILITY 4.1. The event is open to GC32 s with a valid measurement certificate and registered with the GC32 International Class Association Boats must have a valid GC32 Tour Racing license All competitors shall comply with the World Sailing Eligibility Code, Regulation 19, and provide their World Sailing sailor Identification number and proof of membership to their Member National Authority (MNA) All competitors competing for the Owner-driver trophy are required to register accordingly and are required to meet 2018 GC32 Racing Tour Rule ENTRY 5.1. Entries shall be made to the GC32 International Class Association (christian@gc32racing.com) 6. REGISTRATION 6.1. The Race Office will be at the Centre de Loisirs de la Jeunesse ( CLJ ) Each boat shall complete registration, including payment of all class and event fees, before 10:00 on Wednesday 10 th October, including: Completing the insurance declaration details (NOR 19) Crew weighing (Class Rule C2.2) Completing the 2018 sail declaration form (Class Rule C11.2(b) and 2018 GC32 Racing Tour Rule 6) Completing all required measurement checks/inspections All French participants must present a valid FFV (French Sailing Federation) license with the medical stamp or accompanied by a medical certificate of aptitude issue less than one year before the date of the competition Non-French participants who don t have in their possession a FFV license must present the following when they register: - proof that they belong to a National Authority that is a member of World Sailing - proof of valid civil liability insurance where the cover must be a minimum of 1.5 million Euros - a copy of an ID if they don t have a sailing license Provide parental consent for those participants under the age of 18 on 10 th October 2018.

Further craning of boats if needed, packing up and craning containers/trailers Departure and loading containers Up to 20 races may be sailed It is intended that there will be no more than five races a day, however, additional races may be sailed on any day in order to achieve the schedule if weather or other reasons dictate. Further details of the schedule will be provided in the Sailing Instructions No warning signal will be displayed after 15:30 on Sunday 14 th October It is mandatory for skippers to attend all briefings, press conferences and prize giving as defined in the event schedule. [DP] 7.5. The craning on the official craning days of the 2 nd, 5 th, 8 th, 9 th, 14 th and 16 th of October are included in the entry fee. Any craning outside these of these official days will be at cost to the teams. 8. BOAT MEASUREMENT AND INSPECTIONS 8.1. Boats will be required to be complete inspections and sail measurement before 18:00 on Tuesday 9 th October. All boats shall be made available accompanied by two owner s representatives during their inspection and sail measurements. [DP] 9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 9.1 Sailing Instructions will be available from the Race Office during registration and the event website by Monday 8 th October. 10. SAFETY EQUIPMENT All GC32 s and their crews must comply with the safety equipment requirements as described in the GC32 Class Rules. [DP]

4 10.2. All crew members, including guests, will be required to attend a mandatory safety briefing before racing in the event. [DP] All participating boats must comply with the legislation of their country. [DP] All personnel involved in craning boats ashore are required to wear safety hard hats and hi-vis vests. 11. RACE AREA AND COURSES Racing will take place in the bay of Toulon. 12. SCORING The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply with the following changes: One race shall be completed to constitute a series There will be no discards. 13. SUPPORT BOATS Support boats must be registered during the registration period with the OA prior to being used as a support boat. An assigned berth will be provided for the support boat. [DP] Support boats shall carry on board two people, and operate while on the water, a marine VHF radio capable of transmitting and receiving on International marine VHF channels and agree to assist the Race Committee if directed to do so. [DP] Competitors shall have no communication with, and competing boats shall not be tied to, support boats after the Attention Signal for each race. Between races, support boats may approach, communicate with or transfer provisions or equipment to or from their support boats. [DP] Support boats are obliged to help other teams or the OA if asked to do so. [DP] Support boats crews will be required to attend a safety briefing to obtain permissions to get into the regulated sailing area. [DP] 14. BERTHING AND HAULING OUT The OA will provide an assigned berth for each boat. Boats shall be berthed in their assigned mooring during the event at the Toulon from 18:00 on Tuesday 9 th October until the completion of the final race. [DP] Boats shall not be hauled out during this time, except with and per the terms of prior written permission of the OA. [DP] 15. COMMUNICATIONS Except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communications that is not available to all boats. [DP] Trackers or other electronic equipment may be provided by the OA and shall be used in accordance with the Sailing Instructions. [DP] 16. PRIZE GIVING AND TROPHIES The event main prize giving will be held on Sunday 14 th October after racing The GC32 TPM MED CUP will be awarded to the overall winner A Trophy will be awarded to the top Owner-driver Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the OA. 17. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY The skippers are personally responsible for any material or physical accident affecting their boat or crew. It shall be the skipper s sole responsibility to take out all the necessary insurance Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The OA will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta The organisers may, as a result of force majeure or if it is necessary for the participants safety, decide to cancel the running of the event. Cancellation for reasons of force majeure or for any other grounds outside the control of the organisers, will not incur any refunding of registration fees or compensation. The same scenario would also be true, though this list is in no way restrictive, in the event of exceptional weather conditions, armed conflict, requisition, fire, flooding, strikes or the blocking of facilities, whose origin is unknown and totally outside the control of the organisers.

5 18. INSURANCE Each participating boat must hold third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of at least 3,000, Euros (or equivalent) per incident. All boats at the event registration are required to produce evidence of such insurance written in Italian or English clearly indicating the name of the sailor(s) or the sailing number(s) or the CLASS registry number(s) of the insured boat(s), including the starting date and ending date of the insurance and the euro/usd amount of the insurance. 19. USE OF RIGHTS The owner or user of the boat and any possible sponsor, by the sole fact of their participation, assigns the OA the unrestricted right and permission to use, for promotional purposes or other, any text, photo or video footage relating to their participation in the event to be published or broadcast via the press, television or internet (non-exhaustive list). 20. Container / trailers shall arrive on the scheduled arrival date or inform the local Event Coordinator about their dates and time of arrival at least 2 weeks before. On arrival teams must check-in with the Event Coordinator Robin Mauvais (Phone: , r.mauvais@sirius-events.com) about their assigned container / trailer parking. Craning according to the official schedule is covered by the GC32 Class Association (see point 7.5). Craning, storage and associated costs outside these dates and times has to be requested and confirmed by the Class Representative and Toulon and will be invoiced to the teams.
