1 No.32-20/2015-NDM-I Ministry of Home Affairs (Disaster Management Division) SITREP NO.150/ hours Dated, the 29 th October 2015 Subject: SOUTHWEST MONSOON-2015: DAILY MONSOON/FLOOD SITUATION REPORT 1. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION (DAILY WATER LEVELS AND FORECASTS FOR LEVEL FORECAST SITES) According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report dated 29 th October 2015, there is no High/Moderate flood site in the country. 2. ADVISORY The Cyclonic storm, Chapala over eastcentral and adjoining areas of westcentral& south Arabian Sea moved northwestwards with a speed of about 10 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 29th October 2015 over eastcentral and adjoining westcentral& south Arabian Sea near Latitude 13.8 N and longitude 64.2 E, about 1090 km southwest of Mumbai and about 1140 km east-southeast of Salalah (Oman). It would move northwestwards during next 6 hours and then move westwards towards Yemen and adjoining Oman coast. It would intensify into a severe cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours and into a very severe cyclonic storm in subsequent 12 hours. As the system is expected to move away from the Indian coast, no adverse weather is expected along and off west coast of India. Thundersquall/Hailstorm would occur at isolated places over Jharkhand. 31 October (Day 3): Heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, coastal Tamilnaduand Kerala. 01 November (Day 4): Heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, & Tripura, Coastal Karnataka, south Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. 02 November (Day 5): Heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. 4.(WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAY(03/11/2015 to 05/11/2015) A fresh Western Disturbance would affect Western Himalayan region from 3rd November onwards, causes increase in rain/snowfall activity over Western Himalayan region. Rain / thundershower would occur at many places over south peninsular India. Rain/thundershower would occur at isolated places over rest peninsular India, east coast andnortheastern states. 5.
