3 VELUX blinds and shutters A wide range of VELUX blinds, awnings and shutters have been carefully designed to complement VELUX roof windows. The complete range of VELUX blinds, awnings and shutters offers not only decoration for roof windows but enhances the living environment through the control of light and heat. Data plate When ordering VELUX blinds, awnings or shutters, please refer to the product code printed on the data plate on the top right of the sash. Blind fittings VELUX roof windows come complete with brackets fitted, to allow simple and efficient installation of VELUX blinds. Electronic control Blinds, awnings and roller shutters can be operated via VELUX electronic system for maximum comfort, irrespective of installation height. Top cover The top cover of the roof window is designed to totally conceal an awning blind when not in use. Manual operation For blinds fitted on out-of reach windows, rod controls are available. Roller shutter The roller shutter is fully compatible with VELUX roof windows, with high adaptability to various roof materials. The roller shutter offers optimum protection and comfort. 4 Siesta blinds (DKL, DML, DGL) Eliminates light and provides insulation. The VELUX Siesta blind provides almost complete darkness even when the sun is at its brightest. It also retains the heat of the room improving insulation in winter and reflects the suns rays in the summer keeping the room cool. DML requires an electronic control system. DGL is battery operated, comes complete with remote control unit. Operation By hand, or for Siesta blinds fitted to out-of-reach windows, by a portable rod (Siesta blinds adaptors are available to order), or electronically. Siesta blinds can be fitted to almost any VELUX roof window. Fabric top fascia and side channels. 100% Polyester interior, light-proof inner layer, reflective aluminium backing on reverse. Special Duo pleated blind for installation beneath top blind Duo Siesta blind For further light control and decorative purposes, a complementary Pleated blind (FPL) can be installed with the Siesta blind (DKL only), operating from top down. NB. If absolute darkness is required e.g. for a photographic darkroom, additional measures may be necessary. 5 Roller blinds (RNL, RLG, RLT, RML) Provides basic privacy and protection against the sun s rays. The VELUX Roller blind provides decoration, controls the light, protects against direct sunlight and ensures privacy. RML requires an electronic control system. Operation All VELUX Roller blinds are operated by pulling a tab attached to the bottom bar. Out-of-reach Roller blinds can also be operated by a portable rod (Roller blind adaptors are available to order) or electronically. Wooden side lists and aluminium fascias for RNL. Aluminium side lists and fascias for RML. (Plastic side hooks are required for GGU windows.) Roller blinds can be fitted to almost any VELUX roof window. RLG and RLT are Roller blinds for GVA and GVT rooflights respectively. Fabric Polyester. VELUX design to pre-installed fixing brackets on VELUX window. Ease of installation. 6 Pleated blinds (FHL, FPL, FML) Softens incoming light and provides decoration. The VELUX Pleated blind provides an attractive decoration, softens the incoming light and effectively insulates against heat or cold (with aluminium coating). FML requires an electronic control system. Operation By hand or for Pleated blinds fitted to out-of-reach windows, rod plus adaptor or electrically. 7 Venetian blinds (PAL, PML) Most flexible way of controlling light and heat. The VELUX Venetian blind allows total control of both the quantity and the direction of light as well as heat control. PML requires an electronic control system. Operation The slats are raised and lowered by hand and tilted using a slide control. Out-of-reach Venetian blinds can be operated by a rod plus adaptor or electronically. Special Venetian blinds can be fitted to almost any VELUX roof window. Material Brushed aluminum top fascia and side channels. 35mm aluminium slats with aluminium coating on reverse. (Depending on colour). VELUX design to pre-installed fixing brackets on VELUX window. 9 Awning blinds (MAL, MHL, MML) Effective means of reducing solar gain without obscuring the view. The VELUX Awning blind blocks direct sunlight before it reaches the window, protecting against the heat of the sun. Manual operation, MHL When the sash is rotated 180 the Awning blind is fixed to clips on the bottom of the sash. When the sash is then closed, the Awning blind is pulled automatically into position. MHL MML Cord operation, MAL The blind is operated by cord. This product is especially suitable for windows out of reach. Electrical operation, MML MML requires a VELUX electrical control system. MML is suitable for out of reach windows, offering optimal operating comfort. Simple installation to the top frame whilst standing inside. Awning blinds can be fitted to almost any VELUX roof window. 10 Roller shutter (SML) The VELUX roller shutter ensures optimum protection and living comfort in the attic. The roller shutter protects against a wide variety of extremities; heat, light, cold, noise (from rain and hail) and condensation to the pane surface. It also offers a visible deterrent to unlawful entry. Through innovative design and construction, the roller shutter offers optimum fulfilment of the owners need for protection and security. Operation The roller shutter is operated at the touch of a button or by infra-red remote control via the VELUX electronics system. It does not impede the operation, view or cleaning of the roof window it is fitted to. The roller shutter can be used with VELUX roof windows, GHL,, GGU, GPU.
