3 Night and Day of Eid 3 Night of 1 st Shawwal Night of Eid ul-fitr The first night of Shaww l is one of the blessed nights. Many narrations have referred to the great merits and rewards of those who spend this night, as a whole, with acts of worship. Moreover, some narrations have mentioned that this night is not less blessed than the Qadr Night. The devotional acts at this night are as follows: Take a ghusl at sunset. It is recommended to spend the whole night with offering prayers, supplicating, imploring for forgiveness, and staying at mosques. It is recommended to say the following invocation after the obligatory Maghrib Prayer, `Ish ' Prayer, Fajr Prayer, and the `«d al-fi r Prayer: الل ه اك ب ر Allah is Great. ٱلل ه اك ب ر Allah is Great. إ ل ه إ ال الل ه ال There is no god save Allah. و ٱلل ه اك ب ر And Allah is Great. الل ه اك ب ر
4 Night and Day of Eid 4 Allah is Great. و ل ل ه ٱل ح م د All praise be to Allah. ال ح م د ل ل ه ع ل ى م ا ه د ان ا All praise be to Allah for He has shown us the Right Path. و ل ه ٱلش ك ر ع ل ى م ا او الن ا All thanks be to Him for that which He has conferred upon us.
5 Night and Day of Eid 5 Dua After Maghrib Prayers on Eid Night After accomplishing the Maghrib obligatory and supererogatory prayers, it is recommended to raise the hands towards the sky and say the following: لط و ل وٱ ٱل م ن ي ا ذ ا O Lord of favor and bounty! ٱل ج ود ي ا ذ ا O Lord of magnanimity! ي ا م ص ط ف ي م ح م د و ن اص ر ه O He Who has chosen Mu ammad and granted him victory! ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د م ح م د و آل (Please) send blessings to Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad ك ل ذ ن ب ل ي غ ف ر وٱ اح ص ي ت ه and forgive me all the sins that You have known (from me) و ه و ع ن د ك م ب ين ك ت اب ف ي and they are written with you in a manifest record. Then, it is recommended to prostrate oneself and repeat the following statement 100 times:
6 Night and Day of Eid 6 أ ت وب إ ل ى ٱلل ه I turn repentant unto Allah. Then, one may pray Almighty Allah for all needs required, for they shall be granted, by Almighty Allah s permission.
7 Night and Day of Eid 7 Dua in Prostration after Isha Prayers According to the narration mentioned by Shaykh al-± s, it is recommended to prostrate after the Maghrib and `Ish ' Prayers and then say the following supplicatory prayer: ي ا ذ ا ٱل ح و ل O Lord of power! ي ا ذ ا ٱلط و ل O Lord of bounty! ي ا م ص ط ف يا م ح م دا و ن اص ر ه O He Who has chosen Mu ammad and granted him victory, ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د (please do) bless Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad و ٱغ ف ر ل ي ك ل ذ ن ب اذ ن ب ت ه and forgive me every sin that I have committed و ن س يت ه ان ا و ه و ع ن د ك ف ي ك ت اب م ب ين and forgotten, but it is recorded with You in a Manifest Record. Then, one may repeat the following 100 times: أ ت وب إ ل ى ٱلل ه I turn repentant unto Allah.
8 Night and Day of Eid 8 Ziyarah of Imam Hussain on the Night of Eid When you intend to visit Imam al- usayn s tomb at these two nights, you may stop at the gate of the holy dome, cast your sight on the tomb, and seek permission of admission by saying: Go straight to ziyarah ي ا م و ال ي ي ا اب ا ع ب د ٱلل ه O my master! O Ab -`Abdull h! ي ا ب ن ر س ول ٱلل ه O son of Allah s Messenger! ع ب د ك و ٱب ن ع ب د ك و ٱب ن ام ت ك I your slave and son of your slave and your bondwoman, ٱلذ ل يل ب ي ن ي د ي ك who stand submissively before you, وٱ ل م ص غ ر ف ي ع ل و ق د ر ك who is worth nothing in comparison with your elevated esteem, وٱ ل م ع ت ر ف ب ح ق ك and who admits your right (that is incumbent upon us)
9 Night and Day of Eid 9 ج اء ك م س ت جيرا ب ك have come to you, seeking your shelter, ق اص دا إ ل ى ح ر م ك heading for your sanctuary, م ت و ج ها إ ل ى م ق ام ك turning my face towards Your place, م ت و س ال إ ل ى ٱلل ه ت ع ال ى ب ك and beseeching Allah in your name. ااد خ ل ي ا م و ال ي May I enter, O my master? ااد خ ل ي ا و ل ي ٱلل ه May I enter, O intimate servant of Allah? ااد خ ل ي ا م ال ئ ك ة ٱلل ه May I enter, O Allah s angels ٱل م ح د ق ين ب ه ذ ا ٱل ح ر م who surround this sanctuary ٱل م قيمين ف ي ه ذ ا ٱل م ش ه د and reside in this shrine?
10 Night and Day of Eid 10 If your heart feels reverence and your eyes shed tears, then you may enter by preceding your right foot to your left one. You may then say the following words: ب س م ٱلل ه و ب ٱلل ه In the Name of Allah (I begin), in Allah (I trust), و ف ي س ب ي ل ٱلل ه on the way of Allah (I proceed), و ع ل ى م ل ة ر س و ل ٱلل ه and the norm of the Messenger of Allah (I follow). ا لل ه م ان ز ل ن ي م ن ز ال م ب ار كا O Allah, (please do) enable me to reside blessedly و ان ت خ ي ر ٱل م ن ز ل ين and You are the best of those who enable to reside. You may then say the following words: الل ه اك ب ر ك بيرا Allah is greatly the Most Great. وٱ ل ح م د ل ل ه ك ثيرا All praise be to Allah abundantly.
11 Night and Day of Eid 11 و س ب ح ان ٱلل ه ب ك ر ة و اصيال Glory be to Allah in morns and eves. ل ح م د ل ل ه وٱ ٱلص م د ٱل ف ر د All praise be to Allah the Single, the Absolute, ٱل م اج د ٱالح د the Glorious, the One and Only, ٱل م ت ف ض ل ٱل م ن ان the All-obliging, the All-benefactor, ٱل م ت ط و ل ٱل ح ن ان the Donor, the All-compassionate ٱل ذ ي م ن ت ط و ل ه Who, out of His conferral (upon us) with His bequests, ل ي س ه ل م و ال ي ز ي ار ة ب إ ح س ان ه has made easy for me to visit my master out of His beneficence, و ل م ي ج ع ل ن ي ع ن ز ي ار ت ه م م ن وعا Who has not included me with those who are prevented from visiting him و ال ع ن ذ م ت ه م د ف وعا
12 Night and Day of Eid 12 or those who are rejected from being under his inviolability; ب ل ت ط و ل و م ن ح rather, He has bestowed upon me and donated me (this favor). You may then enter the shrine. When you reach its center, you may stop near the tomb with reverence, weeping, and submission, and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث آد م ص ف و ة ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam the choice of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث ن وح ا م ي ن ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah the trustee of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث إ ب ر اه يم خ ل يل ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you O inheritor of Abraham the Friend of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث م وس ى ك ل يم ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses the spoken by Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث ع يس ى ر وح ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus the spirit of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث م ح م د Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Mu ammad, ص ل ى ٱلل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه ح ب ي ب ٱ لل ه
13 Night and Day of Eid 13 blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household, the mostbeloved of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ار ث ع ل ي ح ج ة ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O inheritor of `Al the Argument of Allah. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك اي ه ا ٱ ل ت ق ي ٱل ب ر ٱل و ص ي Peace be upon you, O obedient and pious successor. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ث ار ٱلل ه و ٱب ن ث ار ه ٱ ل م و ت ور ل و ت ر وٱ Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah, son of His vengeance, and the unavenged so far. اش ه د ان ك ق د اق م ت ٱ لص ال ة I bear witness that you performed the prayers, و آت ي ت ٱلز ك اة defrayed the poor-rate, و ام ر ت ب ٱ ل م ع ر وف enjoined the right, و ن ه ي ت ع ن ٱ ل م ن ك ر forbade the evil, و ج اه د ت ف ي ٱ لل ه ح ق ج ه اد ه and strove for the sake of Allah as exactly as strife must be
14 Night and Day of Eid 14 ح ت ى ٱ س ت بيح ح ر م ك و ق ت ل ت م ظ ل وما until your inviolability was violated and you were slain wrongfully. You may then stop at the side of the Imam s head with submissive heart and teary eyes and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا اب ا ع ب د ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O Ab -`Abdull h. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن ر س ول ٱ لل ه Peace be upon you, O son of Allah s Messenger. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن س ي د ٱل و ص ي ين Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the prophets successors. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن ف اط م ة ٱلز ه ر اء Peace be upon you, O son of F imah the luminous lady س ي د ة ن س اء ٱ ل ع ال م ين and the doyenne of the women of the worlds. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ط ل ٱل م س ل م ين Peace be upon you, O hero of Muslims. ي ا م و ال ي O my master,
15 Night and Day of Eid 15 اش ه د ان ك ك ن ت ن ورا ٱالص ال ب ف ي ٱلش ام خ ة I bear witness that You were light in the lofty loins ر ح ا م وٱال ٱ ل م ط ه ر ة and purified wombs. ل م ت ن ج س ك ٱل ج اه ل ي ة ب ا ن ج اس ه ا The ignorance could not stain you with its impurities و ل م ت ل ب س ك م ن م د ل ه م ات ث ي اب ه ا or dress you its gloomy garbs. و اش ه د ان ك م ن د ع ائ م ٱلد ين I also bear witness that you are one of the pillars of the religion, و ار ك ا ن ٱل م س ل م ين the supports of Muslims, و م ع ق ل ٱ ل م ؤ م ن ين and the havens of the faithful believers. و اش ه د ان ك ٱلت ق ي ٱل ب ر ٱإل م ام ٱلر ض ي I also bear witness that you are the God-fearing, pious, pleased, ٱلز ك ي ٱل ه اد ي ٱ ل م ه د ي pure, guide, and well-guided Imam.
16 Night and Day of Eid 16 ن و اش ه د ا ٱال ئ م ة م ن و ل د ك I also bear witness that the Imams from your progeny ك ل م ة ٱلت ق و ى و اع ال م ٱ ل ه د ى are the spokesmen of piety, the signs of guidance, ٱل و ث ق ى ل ع رو ة وٱ the firmest handle (of Islam), وٱ ل ح ج ة ع ل ى اه ل ٱلد ن ي ا and the arguments against the inhabitants of this world. You may then throw yourself on the tomb and say the following words: إ ن ا ل ل ه و إ ن ا إ ل ي ه ر اج ع ون To Allah we belong and to Him is our return. ي ا م و ال ي ان ا م و ال ل و ل ي ك م O my master, I am loyal to your loyalists و م ع اد ل ع د و ك م and enemy of your enemies. و ا ن ا ب ك م م ؤ م ن و ب إ ي اب ك م
17 Night and Day of Eid 17 I also believe in you all and in your Return م وق ن ب ش ر ايع د ين ي and I have full confidence in the laws of my religion و خ و اتيم ع م ل ي and in the seals of my deeds. و ق ل ب ي ل ق ل ب ك م س ل م My heart is at peace with your heart و ام ر ي ال م ر ك م م ت ب ع and all my affairs are following your commands. ي ا م و ال ي ات ي ت ك خ ائ فا م ن ي فآ O my master, I have come to you fearful; so, (please) secure me. و ات ي ت ك م س ت ج يرا ف اج ر ن ي I have come to you seeking shelter; so, (please) grant me shelter. و ات ي ت ك ف ق يرا ف اغ ن ن ي I have come to you deprived; so, (please) grant me wealth. س ي د ي و م و ال ي My chief and master, ان ت م و ال ي ح ج ة ٱلل ه ع ل ى ٱل خ ل ق اج م ع ين
18 Night and Day of Eid 18 you are, O my master, Allah s argument against all of His creatures. آم ن ت ب س ر ك م و ع ال ن ي ت ك م I believe in your secret and open affairs, و ب ظ اه ر ك م و ب اط ن ك م in your visible and invisible affairs, و ا و ل ك م و آخ ر ك م and in the foremost and the last of you. و اش ه د ان ك ٱلت ال ي ل ك ت ا ب ٱلل ه و امي ن ٱ لل ه I also bear witness that you have recited the Book of Allah and you are the Trustee of Allah, ٱلد اع ي إ ل ى ٱلل ه ب ٱل ح ك م ة و ٱل م و ع ظ ة ٱ ل ح س ن ة who calls to Allah with wisdom and excellent exhortation. ٱلل ه ل ع ن ا م ة ظ ل م ت ك May Allah curse the people who wronged you. ٱلل ه و ل ع ن ام ة س م ع ت ب ذ ل ك ف ر ض ي ت ب ه May Allah curse the people who were pleased when they heard of that.
19 Night and Day of Eid 19 You may then offer a two-unit prayer to the side of the Imam s head and when you finish, you may say the following words: ا لل ه م إ ن ي ل ك ص ل ي ت O Allah, I have offered a prayer for You و ل ك ر ك ع ت و ل ك س ج د ت and I have genuflected and prostrated myself for You و ح د ك ال ش ر يك ل ك alone without setting any partner to You, ف إ ن ه ال ت ج و ز ٱ لص ال ة because prayers, وٱ لر ك وع و ٱلس ج ود إ ال ل ك genuflections, and prostrations are illegal for anyone save You, ال ن ك ان ت ٱلل ه ال إ ل ه إ ال ا ن ت because You are Allah; there is no god save You. ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad, و اب ل غ ه م ع ن ي اف ض ل ٱلس ال م و ٱلت ح ي ة
20 Night and Day of Eid 20 convey to them the most favorite salutations and greetings from me, وٱ ر د د ع ل ي م ن ه م ٱلس ال م and convey to me their response to my greeting. ا لل ه م و ه ات ان ٱلر ك ع ت ان ه د ي ة م ن ي O Allah, these two units of prayer are a present from me إ ل ى س ي د ي ٱ ل ح س ي ن ب ن ع ل ي to my master al- usayn the son of `Al, ع ل ي ه م ا ٱلس ال م peace be upon both of them. ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و ع ل ي ه O Allah, send blessings upon Mu ammad and upon him, و ت ق ب ل ه م ا م ن ي و ٱ ج ز ن ي ع لي ه م ا accept these two units of prayer from me, and reward me for them اف ض ل ام ل ي و ر ج ائ ي ف يك و ف ي و ل ي ك by granting me the best of my hope and expectation in you and in Your Friend, ي ا و ل ي ٱ ل م ؤ م ن ين O Guardian of the believers!
21 Night and Day of Eid 21 You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ى ٱ ل ح س ي ن ب ن ع ل ي Peace be upon al- usayn the son of `Al, ٱل م ظ ل و م ٱ لش ه يد the wronged and martyred, ق ت يل ٱ ل ع ب ر ات the victim of shed tears, و اس ي ر ٱ ل ك ر ب ات and the captive of agonies. ا لل ه م إ ن ي اش ه د ان ه و ل ي ك و ٱ ب ن و ل ي ك O Allah, I do bear witness that he is Your intimate friend and the son of Your intimate friend و ص ف ي ك ٱلث ائ ر ب ح ق ك and Your choicest one who revolted to demand with Your right. ا ك ر م ت ه ب ك ر ام ت ك You have thus honored him with Your honor, و خ ت م ت ل ه ب ٱلش ه اد ة
22 Night and Day of Eid 22 sealed his lifetime with martyrdom, و ج ع ل ت ه س ي دا ٱلس اد ة م ن made him one of the chiefs ٱ ل ق اد ة م ن و ق ائ دا and one of the leaders, و اك ر م ت ه ب ط ي ب ٱ ل و ال د ة honored him with immaculate birth, و اع ط ي ت ه م و اري ث ٱال ن ب ي اء gave him the inheritances of the prophets, و ج ع ل ت ه ح ج ة ع ل ى خ ل ق ك م ن ٱال و ص ي اء and made him argument against Your creatures and one of the Successors. ف اع ذ ر ف ي ٱلد ع اء So, he called to You flawlessly, و م ن ح ٱلن ص يح ة gave advice, و ب ذ ل م ه ج ت ه ف يك and sacrificed himself for Your sake
23 Night and Day of Eid 23 ح ت ى ٱس ت ن ق ذ ع ب اد ك م ن ٱل ج ه ال ة و ح ي ر ة ٱ لض ال ل ة until he could save Your servants from ignorance and perplexity of straying off. و ق د ت و از ر ع ل ي ه م ن غ ر ت ه ٱلد ن ي ا Yet, those whom were seduced by this worldly life, و ب اع ح ظ ه م ن ٱآلخ ر ة ب ٱالد ن ى those who sold their share of the Hereafter with the lowly price, و ت ر د ى ف ي ه و اه those who perished because of following their desires, و اس خ ط ك و ا س خ ط ن ب ي ك those who brought to themselves Your wrath and the wrath of Your Prophet, و اط اع م ن ع ب اد ك او ي ل ٱلش ق اق و ٱ لن ف اق and those who obeyed the dissident and hypocritical servants of You و ح م ل ة ٱالو ز ا ر ٱل م س ت و ج ب ين ٱلن ار and the bearers of the burdens (of sins) who deserve Hellfire all those supported each other against him; ف ج اه د ه م ف يك ص اب را م ح ت س با
24 Night and Day of Eid 24 so, he fought against them with steadfastness and expectation of Your reward, م ق ب ال غ ي ر م د ب ر facing them courageously, never turning back, ال ت اخ ذ ه ف ي ٱلل ه ل و م ة ال ئ م and never fearing the blame of anyone concerning carrying out his duty towards You ح ت ى س ف ك ف ي ط اع ت ك د م ه until his blood was shed while he was in obedience to You وٱ س ت بيح ح ر ي م ه and his inviolability was also infringed. ا لل ه م ٱل ع ن ه م ل ع نا و ب يال O Allah, curse them with incessant curses و ع ذ ب ه م ع ذ ابا ا ل يما and chastise them with painful chastisement. Ziyarah of Ali ibn Hussain You may then turn to `Al ibn al- usayn (`a), who is buried to the side of Imam al- usayn s feet, and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا و ل ي ٱلل ه
25 Night and Day of Eid 25 Peace be upon you, O Allah s intimate servant. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن ر س ول ٱلل ه Peace be upon you, O son of Allah s Messenger. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن خ ات م ٱلن ب ي ين Peace be upon you, O son of the seal of the prophets. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن ف اط م ة Peace be upon you, O son of F imah س ي د ة ن س اء ٱل ع ال م ين the doyenne of the women of the worlds. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب ن ام ي ر ٱل م ؤ م ن ين Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك اي ه ا ٱل م ظ ل و م ٱلش ه يد Peace be upon you, O persecuted and martyred. ب ا ب ي ان ت و ا مي May Allah accept my father and my mother as ransoms for you. ع ش ت س عيدا You lived happily و ق ت ل ت م ظ ل وما ش هيدا
26 Night and Day of Eid 26 and were killed as wronged and martyred. Ziyarah of the Martrys of Karbala You may then turn to the tombs of the martyrs may Allah s pleasure be upon them and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك م اي ه ا ٱلذ اب ون ع ن ت و ح ي د ٱلل ه Peace be upon you all, O defenders of (the faith of) Allah s Oneness. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك م ب م ا ص ب ر ت م Peace be upon you because you were constant. ف ن ع م ع ق ب ى ٱلد ار How excellent then the issue of the abode is. ب ابي ان ت م و ا مي May Allah accept my father and my mother as ransoms for you. ف ز ت م ف و زا ع ظيما You achieved a great success. Ziyarah of Abbas ibn Ali You may then walk to the shrine of al-`abb s ibn `Al, stop at his holy tomb, and say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك اي ه ا ٱل ع ب د ٱلص ال ح و ٱلص د ي ق ٱل م و اس ي
27 Night and Day of Eid 27 Peace be upon you, O righteous servant (of Allah) and veracious self-sacrificing. اش ه د ان ك آم ن ت ب ٱلل ه I bear witness that you believed in Allah, و ن ص ر ت ٱب ن ر س و ل ٱلل ه supported the son of Allah s Messenger, و د ع و ت إ ل ى س ب يل ٱلل ه called to the way of Allah, و و اس ي ت ب ن ف س ك and sacrificed yourself for Him. ف ع ل ي ك م ن ٱلل ه اف ض ل ٱلت ح ي ة و ٱلس ال م So, the most favorite greetings and compliments of Allah be upon you. You may now throw yourself on the tomb and say the following words: ب ا ب ي ان ت و ا م ي ي ا ن اص ر د ي ن ٱلل ه May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you, O supporter of Allah s religion. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ن اص ر ٱل ح س ي ن ٱلص د يق Peace be upon you, O supporter of al- usayn the veracious.
28 Night and Day of Eid 28 ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ن اص ر ٱل ح س ي ن ٱلش ه يد Peace be upon you, O supporter of al- usayn the martyr. ع ل ي ك م ن ي ٱلس ال م Peace from me be upon you م ا ب ق يت و ب ق ي ٱلل ي ل و ٱلن ه ار as long as I am existent and as long as there are day and night. You may then stand up to offer a two-unit prayer to the side of his head and then repeat the same words that you have said after offering a prayer at Imam al- usayn s shrine. You may then return to the shrine of Imam al- usayn (`a) to reside there for any period you like. However, it is recommended not to appoint the holy shrine as one s place of residence and spending the night there. Ziyarah of Farewell on the Nights of Eid If you intend to leave and bid farewell to the Imam (`a), you may stop at the side of the head and say the following words while weeping: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا م و ال ي Peace be upon you, O my master. س ال م م و د ع ال ق ال و ال س ئ م This is the greeting of one who has to bid you farewell although he is neither bored with you nor tired of you.
29 Night and Day of Eid 29 ف إ ن ان ص ر ف ف ال ع ن م ال ل ة If I leave (you), this is not because of weariness, و إ ن اق م ف ال ع ن س وء ظ ن and if I reside, this is not because of mistrusting ٱلل ه ب م ا و ع د ٱلص اب ر ين the promise that Allah has made for the serene ones. ي ا م و ال ي ال ج ع ل ه ٱلل ه آخ ر ٱل ع ه د م ن ي ل ز ي ار ت ك O my master, may Allah not decide this time of my visit to you to be the last و ر ز ق ن ي ٱل ع و د إ ل ي ك and may He endue me with more chances to re-visit you, ل م ق ام وٱ ف ي ح ر م ك to reside in your sanctuary, وٱ ل ك و ن ف ي م ش ه د ك and to be in your presence. آم ين ر ب ٱل ع ال م ين Respond to me, O Lord of the worlds! You may then kiss the tomb and try to pass your entire body over it,
30 Night and Day of Eid 30 because this tomb is security and protection. You may then leave it by walking backwards without giving your back to the tomb. You may say the following words: ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ب اب ٱل م ق ام Peace be upon you, O door to the High Position. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ش ر ي ك ٱل ق ر آ ن Peace be upon you, O partner of the Qur' n. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا ح ج ة ٱل خ ص ام Peace be upon you, O argument against disputants. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك ي ا س ف ين ة ٱلن ج اة Peace be upon you, O ark of salvation. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك م ي ا م ال ئ ك ة ر ب ي Peace be upon you all, O angels of my Lord ٱل م ق يم ين ف ي ه ذ ا ٱل ح ر م who are residing in this sanctuary. ا لس ال م ع ل ي ك اب دا Peace be upon you forever م ا ب ق يت و ب ق ي ٱلل ي ل و ٱلن ه ار
31 Night and Day of Eid 31 as long as I am existent and as long as there are day and night. You may also say the following words: إ ن ا ل ل ه و إ ن ا إ ل ي ه ر اج ع ون To Allah we belong and to Him is our return. و ال ح و ل و ال ق و ة إ ال ب ٱلل ه ٱل ع ل ي ٱل ع ظ يم There is neither might nor power except with Allah the All-high and All-great. You may then leave. Sayyid Ibn ± w s and Mu ammad ibn al-mashhad said, If you do all these devotional acts (correctly), you will be as if you have visited Almighty Allah in His Divine Throne.
32 Night and Day of Eid 32 3 Salaahs for Night of Eid 1 st Salaah for Eid Night It is recommended to offer a prayer of 14 units and to recite S rah al- F ti ah once, ªyah al-kurs once, and S rah al-taw d 3 times at each unit. The reward of offering each unit of this prayer is as same as the reward of forty-year worship as well as the reward of each and every one who has observed fasting and offered prayers in this month. 2 nd Salaah for Eid night One may offer a prayer consisting of 10 Rak`ahs (5x2) at each of which S rah of al-f ti ah is recited once and S rah of al-taw d is repeated 10 times. In the Ruk ` (genuflection of the prayer) and Suj d (prostration of the prayer), the following invocation (namely al-tasb t al-arba`ah) may be repeated 10 times: س ب ح ان الل ه All glory be to Allah; و ال ح م د ل ل ه all praise be to Allah; و ال إله إال الل ه there is no god save Allah;
33 Night and Day of Eid 33 و الل ه أ ك ب ر. Allah is the Greatest. After the accomplishment of the ten Rak`ahs, one may recite the Tasl m and say the following supplication of seeking forgiveness 1000 times: أ س ت غ ف ر الل ه و أ ت وب إل ي ه. I seek the forgiveness of Allah and I repent before Him. After that, go into prostratration and say the following: ي ا ح ي ي ا ق ي وم O Ever-Alive, O Eternal, ي ا ذ ا الج الل و اإل كر ام O the Lord of Majesty and Honor. ي ار ح م ان الد ني ا و اآلخ ر ة و ر ح يم ه م ا O the All-beneficent of this world and the Next World and the Allmerciful of them; ي ا أ ر ح م الر اح م ين O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy. ي اإ له األ و ل ين و اآلخ ر ين O the God of the past and the coming generations;
34 Night and Day of Eid 34 اغ ف ر ل ن ا ذ ن وب ن ا (Please) forgive us our sins, و ت ق ب ل م ن ا ص الت ن ا و ص ي ام ن ا و ق ي ام ن ا. And accept our prayers, fasting, and worship. 3 rd Salaah for Eid Night It is recommended to offer a 2 unit prayer reciting, in the first unit, S rah al-f ti ah once and repeating S rah al-taw d 1000 times (in another narration it is mentioned 100 times Sura al-tawhid) and reciting, in the second unit, S rah al-f ti ah once and S rah al-taw d once only. After accomplishment, it is recommended to prostrate and say the following: أ ت وب إ ل ى ٱلل ه I turn repentant unto Allah. After that, the following supplicatory prayer should be said: ي ا ذ ا ٱل م ن و ٱل ج ود O Lord of favoring and magnanimity! ي ا ذ ا ٱل م ن و ٱلط و ل O Lord of favoring and bounty!
35 Night and Day of Eid 35 ي ا م ص ط ف ي م ح م د ص ل ى ٱلل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه O He Who has selected Mu ammad, peace of Allah be upon him and his Household, ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه (please do) send blessings to Mu ammad and his Household. Then, one may pray for the granting of one s personal needs. It is reported that when Imam `Al Am r al-mu'min n (`a) used to offer this prayer, he would say, I swear by Him Who grasps my soul, Almighty Allah shall definitely respond to whoever offers this prayer and then prays Him for granting his needs, and Almighty Allah shall forgive him even if his sins would be as much as the pebbles in deserts. According to another narration, S rah al-taw d is repeated one hundred times, not one thousand. Yet, this narration has mentioned that this prayer is offered after the Maghrib obligatory and supererogatory prayers. Then recite the supplication given below.
36 Night and Day of Eid 36 Supplication on Eid Night (Supplication with Allahs s Names) After the above mentioned prayer, Shaykh al-± s and Sayyid Ibn ± w s recorded that the following supplicatory prayer should be said: الل ه ي ا ي ا الل ه ي ا الل ه O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! ي ا ر ح م ن ي ا الل ه O Beneficent! O Allah! ي ا ر حيم ي ا الل ه O Merciful! O Allah! ي ا م ل ك ي ا الل ه O Sovereign! O Allah! ي ا ق د وس ي ا الل ه O Most Holy! O Allah! ي ا س ال م ي ا الل ه O Peace! O Allah! ي ا مؤ م ن ي ا الل ه O Giver of security! O Allah!
37 Night and Day of Eid 37 ي ا م ه ي م ن ي ا الل ه O All-prevailing! O Allah! ي ا ع زيز ي ا الل ه O Almighty! O Allah! ي ا ج ب ار ي ا الل ه O Omnipotent! O Allah! ي ا م ت ك ب ر ي ا الل ه O All-great! O Allah! ي ا خ ال ق ي ا الل ه O Creator! O Allah! ي ا ب ار ئ ي ا الل ه O Inventor! O Allah! ي ا م ص و ر ي ا الل ه O Shaper! O Allah! ي ا ع ال م ي ا الل ه O All-knowing! O Allah! ي ا ع ظيم ي ا الل ه O Great! O Allah!

O Allah! ي ا س ميع ي ا الل ه O Hearer! O Allah! ي ا ب صير ي ا الل ه O Seer! O Allah! ي ا ق ريب ي ا الل ه O Near! O Allah! ي ا م جيب ي ا الل ه O Responder! O Allah! ي ا ج و اد ي ا الل ه O All-magnanimous! O Allah!

O Allah! ي ا ر قيب ي ا الل ه O Preserver! O Allah!

O Allah! ي ا ه ادي ي ا الل ه O Guide! O Allah! ي ا ك اف ي ي ا الل ه O Able! O Allah! ي ا ش اف ي ي ا الل ه O Efficacious! O Allah! ي ا ع ل ي ي ا الل ه O High! O Allah! ي ا ع ظيم ي ا الل ه O Great! O Allah! ي ا ح ن ان ي ا الل ه O Tender! O Allah!

O Allah! اس ال ك ان ت ص ل ي ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د I beseech You to send blessings to Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad, و ت م ن ع ل ي ب ر ض اك favor on me with Your pleasure, و ت ع ف و ع ن ي ب ح ل م ك
50 Night and Day of Eid 50 grant me amnesty through Your munificence, و ت و س ع ع ل ي م ن ر ز ق ك ٱل ح ال ل ٱلط ي ب and expand Your lawful, good sustenance to me و م ن ح ي ث اح ت س ب و م ن ح ي ث ال اح ت س ب from whence I expect and from whence I do not, ف إ ن ي ع ب د ك ل ي س ل ي اح د س و اك for I am Your servant, I have no one else other than You, و ال اح د اس ال ه غ ي ر ك and there is no one to whom I turn to other than You! ي ا ار ح م ٱلر اح مين O Most Merciful of the Merciful! م ا ش اء ٱلل ه Only that which Allah wills takes place. ال ق و ة إ ال ب ٱلل ه ٱل ع ل ي ٱل ع ظيم There is no power except in Allah, the High, the Great. One may then prostrate oneself and say the following: ي ا الل ه ي ا الل ه ي ا الل ه O Allah! O Allah! O Allah!
51 Night and Day of Eid 51 ر ب ي ا ر ب ي ا ي ا ر ب O Lord-Nourisher! O Lord-Nourisher! O Lord-Nourisher! ي ا م ن ز ل ٱل ب ر ك ات O He Who sends down blessing! ب ك ت ن ز ل ك ل ح اج ة To You only are all desires turned. اس ال ك ب ك ل ٱس م ف ي م خ ز ون ٱل غ ي ب ع ن د ك I beseech You in the name of every name treasured in Your invisible collection, و ٱالس م اء ٱل م ش ه ورة ع ن د ك and in the name of Your celebrated names, ٱل م ك ت وب ة ع ل ى س ر اد ق ع ر ش ك inscribed on the hangings of Your Throne, ان ت ص ل ي ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د to send blessings to Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad, و ان ت ق ب ل م ن ي ش ه ر ر م ض ان to accept my offerings made in the month of Rama n, و ت ك ت ب ن ي م ن ٱل و اف دين إ لى ب ي ت ك ٱل ح ر ام
52 Night and Day of Eid 52 to record my name in the list of those who will journey to Your Sacred House, و ت ص ف ح ل ي ع ن ٱلذ ن وب ٱل ع ظ ام to overlook my grand sins, و ت س ت خ ر ج ل ي ي ا ر ب ك ن وز ك ي ا ر ح م ن to demonstrate, O Lord, before me Your treasures, O All-beneficent In Mi b al-mutahajjid, Shaykh al-± s says: At the last hour of this night, you may take a ghusl and sit in your prayer-place until dawn.
53 Night and Day of Eid 53 Another Supplication for Eid Night It is recommended to repeat the following supplicatory prayer 10 times: ي ا د ائ م ٱل ب ري ة ى ٱل ف ض ل ع ل O He Who is ever-favorer on the beings! ي ا ب اس ط ٱل ي د ي ن ب ٱل ع ط ي ة O He Who is openhandedly Bestower of gifts! ي ا ص اح ب ٱل م و اه ب ٱلس ن ي ة O He Who is the Giver of sublime donations! ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه Bless Mu ammad and his Household, خ ي ر ٱل و ر ى س ج ي ة the best of all creatures in traits, وٱ غ ف ر ل ن ا ي ا ذ ٱ ٱل ع ل ى and forgive us, O Lord of Highness, ٱل ع ش ي ة ه ذ ه في at this evening.
54 Night and Day of Eid 54 Eid Day 1 st Shawwal It is recommended to say the supplicatory prayer that has been mentioned within the acts of the `«d al-fi r Night to be said after the obligatory prayers and that begins with (all hu akbar all hu akbar) after the Fajr Prayer and after the `«d al-fi r Prayer. It is recommended to put on the best clothes, apply perfumes. It is recommended to eat something, as a breaking of the fast, before the `«d al-fi r Prayer. It is preferable to break the fast with some dates or a piece of candy. Shaykh al-muf d has mentioned that it is advisable to swallow a piece of the soil of Imam al- usayn s tomb, for it is remedy for all illnesses. It is recommended to visit the holy tomb of Imam al- usayn (`a). It is highly recommended to recite the famous supplication of Dua Nudba.
55 Night and Day of Eid 55 Supplication before and after Ghusl on Eid Day It is recommended to bathe oneself/take a Ghusl on this day. Before ghusl you may say the following: ا لل ه م إ يم انا ب ك O Allah, believing in You, و ت ص د يقا ب ك ت اب ك fully aware of Your Book, و ٱت ب اع س ن ة ن ب ي ك م ح م د and following the traditions of Your Prophet Mu ammad, ص ل ى ٱلل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه Allah s blessings be upon him and his Household, (I take bath). You may then mention the Name of Almighty Allah (1) and bathe yourself/take your Ghusl. After accomplishment of ghusl, you may say the following: الل ه م ٱج ع ل ه ك ف ار ة ل ذ ن وب ي O Allah, (please) consider this to wipe out my sins (1) To mention the Name of Almighty Allah is to say, Bismill hirra m nirra m (In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.)
56 Night and Day of Eid 56 و ط ه ر د ين ي and purify my faith. الل ه م اذ ه ب ع ن ي ٱلد ن س O Allah, (please) remove filth from me
57 Night and Day of Eid 57 Supplication to be recited before Eid Salaah It is recommended not to leave one s house for joining the congregational `«d al-fi r Prayer before sunrise. It is also recommended to say the supplicatory prayers that have been mentioned by Sayyid Ibn ± w s in Iqb l al-a`m l. Among these supplicatory prayers is the one that Ab - amzah al-thum l has reported Imam Mu ammad al-b qir (`a) as saying: Whey you ready yourself for joining the congregational Friday Prayers and the `«d Prayers, you may say the following supplicatory prayer: الل ه م م ن ت ه ي ا ف ي ه ذ ا ٱل ي و م O Allah, if one, on this day, prepares oneself, او اع د او ت ع ب ا و ٱس ت ع د takes pains, gets ready, or prepares oneself ل و ف اد ة إ ل ى م خ ل وق to visit another one, ر ج اء ر ف د ه و ن و اف ل ه hoping for his aid, gifts, و ف و اض ل ه و ع ط اي اه benefits, and grants;
58 Night and Day of Eid 58 ف إ ن إ ل ي ك ي اس ي د ي ت ه ي ئ ت ي و ت ع ب ئ ت ي for You alone, my Lord, is my readiness, preparations, و إ ع د اد ي و ٱس ت ع د اد ي taking pains, training, and inclination ر ج اء ر ف د ك و ج و ائ ز ك in the hope of gaining Your aid, gifts, و ن و اف ل ك و ف و اض ل ك grants, benefits, و ف ض ائ ل ك و ع ط اي اك bounties, and donations. ع ي اد ا م ة ن ب ي ك م ح م د و ق د غ د و ت إ ل ى ع يد م ن ا I find myself celebrating one of the feasts commemorated by the nation of Your Prophet, Mu ammad, ص ل و ات ٱلل ه ع ل ي ه و ع ل ى آل ه blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household. و ل م اف د إ ل ي ك ٱل ي و م ب ع م ل ص ال ح اث ق ب ه ق د م ت ه I have not come to You, today, carrying a righteous deeds that I may trust to present before You و ال ت و ج ه ت ب م خ ل وق ا م ل ت ه
59 Night and Day of Eid 59 nor have I introduced a creature as my interceder before You; و لك ن ات ي ت ك خ اض عا rather, I submissively draw near You م ق ر ا ب ذ ن وب ي و إ س اء ت ي إ ل ى ن ف س ي confessing of my wrongdoings and my offenses to myself. ف ي ا ع ظ يم ي ا ع ظ يم ي ا ع ظ يم So, O All-great, O All-great, O All-great, ٱغ ف ر ل ي ٱل ع ظ يم م ن ذ ن وب ي (please) forgive my grave wrongdoings, ف إ ن ه ال ي غ ف ر ٱلذ ن وب ٱل ع ظ ام إ ال ان ت for, verily, no one can forgive serious transgressions save You. ي ا ال إ ل ه إ ال ان ت O He save Whom there is no god! ي ا ار ح م ٱلر اح م ين O most Merciful of all the merciful!
60 Night and Day of Eid 60 Supplication 46 from Sahifa Sajjadiya Supplication to be recited on the Day of Eid ul-fitr Narrations have mentioned many supplicatory prayers to be said after the `«d Prayer; rather, the best of them may be the forty-sixth supplication of al- a fah al-k milah al-sajj diyyah, which begins with the following statement: O He who has mercy upon him toward whom the servants show no mercy! ي ا م ن ي ر ح م م ن ال ي ر ح م ه ال ع ب اد. O He who accepts him whom the cities will not accept! و ي ا م ن ي ق ب ل م ن ال ت ق ب ل ه ال ب ال د. O He who looks not down upon those who have need of Him! و ي ا م ن ال ي ح ت ق ر أ ه ل ال ح اج ة إل ي ه. O He who disappoints not those who implore Him! و ي ا م ن ال ي خ ي ب الم ل ح ي ن ع ل ي ه O He who slaps not the brow of the people of boldness toward Him with rejection! و ي ا م ن ال ي ج ب ه ب الر د أ ه ل الد ال ة ع ليه O He who collects the little that is given to Him و ي ا م ن ي ج ت ب ي ص غ ير م اي ت ح ف ب ه
61 Night and Day of Eid 61 and shows gratitude for the paltry that is done for Him! و ي ش ك ر ي س ير م ا ي ع م ل ل ه. O He who shows gratitude for the small and rewards with the great! و ي ام ن ي ش ك ر ع ل ى ال ق ل ي ل و ي ج ازي ب ال ج ل يل O He who comes close to him who comes close to Him! و ي ا م ن ي د ن و إل ى م ن د نا م ن ه O He who invites to Himself him who turns his back on Him! و ي ا م ن ي دع و إل ى ن ف س ه م ن أ د ب ر ع ن ه O He who changes not favour and rushes not to vengeance! و ي ا م ن ال ي غ ي ر الن ع م ة و ال ي ب اد ر ب الن ق م ة O He who causes the good deed to bear fruit so that He may make it grow, و ي ا م ن ي ث م ر ال ح س ن ة ح ت ى ي ن م ي ه ا and overlooks the evil deed so that He may efface it! و ي ت ج او ز ع ن الس ي ئ ة ح ت ى ي ع ف ي ه ا. Hopes turn back with needs fulfilled short of the extent of Thy generosity, ان ص ر ف ت اآلم ال د ون م دى ك ر م ك ب الح اج ات the cups of requests fill up with the overflow of Thy munificence,
62 Night and Day of Eid 62 و ام ت ال ت ب ف ي ض ج ود ك أ و ع ي ة الط ل بات and attributes fall apart without reaching Thy description. و ت ف س خ ت د ون ب ل وغ ن ع ت ك الص ف ات For to Thee belongs the highest highness above everything high, ف ل ك ال ع ل و األع ل ى ف و ق ك ل ع ال and the most glorious majesty beyond every majesty! و ال ج ال ل األم ج د ف و ق ك ل ج ال ل Everything majestic before Thee is small, ك ل ج ل ي ل ع ن د ك ص غ ير everything eminent beside Thy eminence vile! و ك ل ش ر يف ف ي ج ن ب ش ر ف ك ح ق ير Those who reach other than Thee are disappointed, خ اب ال و اف د ون ع ل ى غ ي ر ك those who present themselves to other than Thee have lost, those who stay with other than Thee have perished, و خ س ر ال م ت ع ر ض ون إال ل ك و ض اع ال م ل م ون إال ب ك and those who retreat - except those who retreat to Thy bounty - are desolate! و أ ج د ب ال م ن ت ج ع ون إال م ن ان ت ج ع ف ض ل ك
63 Night and Day of Eid 63 Thy door is open to the beseechers, Thy munificence free to the askers, ب اب ك م ف ت وح ل لر اغ ب ين و ج ود ك م ب اح ل لس ائ ل ين Thy help near to the help-seekers! و إغاث ت ك ق ر يب ة م ن ال م س ت غ ي ث ين The expectant are not disappointed by Thee, those who present themselves despair not of Thy bestowal, ال ي خ يب م ن ك اآلم ل ون و ال ي ي أ س م ن ع ط ائ ك ال م ت ع ر ض ون the forgiveness-seekers become not wretched through Thy vengeance! و ال ي ش ق ى ب ن ق م ت ك ال م س ت غ ف ر ون. Thy provision is spread among those who disobey Thee, ر ز ق ك م ب س وط ل م ن ع ص اك Thy clemency presents itself to those hostile toward Thee, و ح ل م ك م ع ت ر ض ل م ن ن او اك Thy habit is beneficence toward the evildoers, ع اد ت ك اإلح س ان إل ى ال م س يئين and Thy wont is to spare the transgressors,
64 Night and Day of Eid 64 و س ن ت ك اإلب ق اء ع ل ى ال م ع ت د ين so much so that Thy lack of haste deludes them from returning, ح ت ى ل ق د غ ر ت ه م أ ن ات ك ع ن الر ج وع and Thy disregard bars them from desisting! و ص د ه م إم ه ال ك ع ن الن ز وع. Thou actest without haste toward them so that they will come back to Thy command و إن م ا ت أ ن ي ت بهم ل ي ف يئ وا إل ى أ م ر ك and Thou disregardest them confident in the permanence of Thy kingdom, و أ م ه ل ت ه م ث ق ة ب د و ام م ل ك ك so Thou sealest him who is worthy of it with felicity, ف م ن ك ان م ن أ ه ل الس ع اد ة خ ت م ت ل ه ب ه ا and Thou abandonest him who is worthy of it to wretchedness! و م ن ك ان م ن أ ه ل الش ق او ة خ ذ ل ت ه ل ه ا All of them come home to Thy decree, their affairs revert to Thy command; ك ل ه م ص ائ ر ون إل ى ح ك م ك و أ م ور ه م آئ ل ة إل ى أ م ر ك
65 Night and Day of Eid 65 Thy authority grows not feeble through their drawn out term, ل م ي ه ن ع ل ى ط ول م د ت ه م س ل ط ان ك Thy proof is not refuted by the failure to hurry after them. و ل م ي د ح ض ل ت ر ك م ع اج ل ت ه م ب ر ه ان ك. Thy argument is established, never refuted, ح ج ت ك ق ائ م ة ال ت د ح ض Thy authority fixed, never removed. و س ل ط ان ك ث اب ت ال ي ز ول Permanent woe belongs to him who inclines away from Thee, ف ال و ي ل الد ائ م ل م ن ج ن ح ع ن ك forsaking disappointment to him who is disappointed by Thee, و ال خ ي ب ة ال خ اذ ل ة ل م ن خ اب م ن ك and the most wretched wretchedness to him who is deluded about Thee! و الش قاء االش ق ى ل م ن اغ ت ر ب ك. How much he will move about in Thy chastisement! م ا أك ث ر ت ص ر ف ه ف ي ع ذ اب ك How long he will frequent Thy punishment! و م ا أ ط و ل ت ر د د ه ف ي ع ق اب ك
66 Night and Day of Eid 66 How far his utmost end from relief! و م ا أ ب ع د غ اي ت ه م ن ال ف ر ج How he will despair of an easy exit! و م ا أ ق ن ط ه م ن س ه ول ة ال م خ ر ج [All of this] as justice from Thy decree (Thou art not unjust in it!), ع د ال م ن ق ض ائ ك ال ت ج ور ف يه and equity from Thy judgement (Thou dost not act wrongfully against him!). و إن ص افا م ن ح ك م ك ال ت ح يف ع ل ي ه Thou supported the arguments, tested the excuses, ف ق د ظ اه ر ت ال ح ج ج و أ ب ل ي ت االع ذ ار began with threats, showed gentleness with encouragement, و ق د ت ق د م ت ب ال و ع ي د و ت ل ط ف ت ف ي الت ر غ ي ب struck similitudes, made long the respite, و ض ر ب ت االم ث ال و أ ط ل ت اال م ه ال delayed, while Thou art able to hurry, و أ خ ر ت و أ ن ت م س ت ط يع ل ل م ع اج ل ة and acted without haste, while Thou art full of quick accomplishment!
67 Night and Day of Eid 67 و ت أ ن ي ت و أ ن ت م ليء ب ال م ب اد ر ة Not because of incapacity is Thy slowness, feebleness Thy giving respite, ل م ت ك ن أ ن ات ك ع ج زا و ال إم ه ال ك و ه نا heedlessness Thy showing restraint, dissemblance Thy waiting! و ال إم س اك ك غ ف ل ة و ال ان ت ظ ار ك م د ار اة But that Thy argument be more conclusive, Thy generosity more perfect, ب ل ل ت ك ون ح ج ت ك أ ب ل غ و ك ر م ك أكم ل Thy beneficence more exhaustive, Thy favour more complete! و إح س ان ك أ و ف ى و ن ع م ت ك أ ت م All of this has been and always was, is and ever will be. ك ل ذل ك ك ان و ل م ت ز ل و ه و كائ ن و ال ت ز ال Thy argument is greater than that its totality be described, ح ج ت ك أ ج ل م ن أ ن توص ف ب ك ل ه ا Thy glory more elevated than that it be limited in its core, و م ج د ك أ ر ف ع م ن أ ن ي ح د ب ك ن ه ه Thy favour more abundant than that its entirety be counted, و ن ع م ت ك أك ث ر م ن أ ن ت ح ص ى ب أ س ر ه ا
68 Night and Day of Eid 68 Thy beneficence more abundant than that thanks be given for its least amount! و إح س ان ك أك ث ر م ن أ ن ت ش ك ر ع ل ى أ ق ل ه Speechlessness has made me fall short of praising Thee, و ق د ق ص ر ب ي الس ك وت ع ن ت ح م يد ك restraint has made me powerless to glorify Thee, و ف ه ه ن ي اإلم س اك ع ن ت م جيد ك and the most I can do is admit to inability, و ق ص ار اي اإلق ر ار ب ال ح س ور not out of desire, my God, but out of incapacity. ال ر غ ب ة يا إله ي ب ل ع ج زا So here I am: I repair to Thee by coming forward, and I ask from Thee good support ف ه ا أ ن ا ذ ا أ ؤ م ك ب ال و ف اد ة و أ سأ ل ك ح س ن الر ف اد ة So bless Muhammad and his Household, hear my whispered words, ف صل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه و اس م ع ن ج و اي grant my supplication, seal not my day with disappointment, و اس ت ج ب د ع ائ ي و ال ت خ ت م ي و م ي ب خ ي ب ت ي slap not my brow by rejecting my request,
69 Night and Day of Eid 69 و ال ت ج ب ه ن ي ب الر د ف ي م س أ ل ت ي and make noble my coming from Thee and my going back to Thee! و أك ر م م ن ع ن د ك م ن ص ر ف ي و إل ي ك م ن ق ل ب ي Surely Thou art not constrained by what Thou desirest, nor incapable of what Thou art asked! إن ك غ ي ر ض ائ ق ب م ا ت ر ي د و ال ع اج ز ع م ا ت س أ ل Thou art powerful over everything, و أ ن ت ع ل ى ك ل ش ي ء ق د ي ر and there is no force and no strength save in God, the All-high, the All-mighty! و ال ح و ل و ال ق و ة إال ب اهلل ال ع ل ي ال ع ظ يم.
70 Night and Day of Eid 70 Dua Nudba ا ل ح م د ل ل ه ر ب ٱ ل ع ال م ين All praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds. ٱلل ه و ص ل ى ع ل ى س ي د ن ا م ح م د ن ب ي ه May Allah send blessings upon our master Mu ammad His Prophet و آل ه و س ل م ت س ل يما and upon his Household and may He salute them with thorough salutation. ا لل ه م ل ك ٱ ل ح م د O Allah, all praise be to You ع ل ى م ا ج ر ى ب ه ق ض اؤ ك for Your decree that has been applied ٱل ذ ي ن ف ي او ل ي ائ ك ٱس ت خ ل ص ت ه م ل ن ف س ك و د ين ك to Your vicegerents whom You have purely selected for Yourself and Your religion; إ ذ ٱخ ت ر ت ل ه م ج ز يل م ا ع ن د ك as You have chosen for them the abundance of what You have in possession; ٱلن ع ي م م ن ٱل م ق يم
71 Night and Day of Eid 71 that is the enduring pleasure ٱل ذ ي ال ز و ال ل ه و ال ٱ ض م ح ال ل that neither vanishes nor diminishes, ب ع د ان ش ر ط ت ع ل ي ه م ٱلز ه د after You had already stipulated on them to renounce ف ي د ر ج ات ه ذ ه ٱلد ن ي ة ٱلد ن ي ا all the ranks of this lowly world و ز خ ر ف ه ا و ز ب ر ج ه ا along with all of its embellishments and ornaments, ف ش ر ط وٱ ل ك ذ ل ك and they accepted this stipulation. و ع ل م ت م ن ه م ٱ ل و ف اء ب ه As You knew that they would fulfill this stipulation, ف ق ب ل ت ه م و ق ر ب ت ه م You accepted and drew them near to You. و ق د م ت ل ه م ٱ ل ع ل ي ٱلذ ك ر You thus provided them with sublime mention ٱل ج ل ي لث ن ا ء وٱ
72 Night and Day of Eid 72 and obvious approval, و ا ه ب ط ت ع ل ي ه م م ال ئ ك ت ك made Your angels descend to them, و ك ر م ت ه م ب و ح ي ك honored them with Your revelations, و ر ف د ت ه م ب ع ل م ك supported them with Your knowledge, و ج ع ل ت ه م ٱلذ ر يع ة إ ل ي ك and made them the channel to You وٱ ل و س يل ة إ ل ى ر ض و ان ك and the means to winning Your pleasure. ف ب ع ض ا س ك ن ت ه ج ن ت ك Therefore, You made some of them dwell in Your Garden إ ل ى ان ا خ ر ج ت ه م ن ه ا until You decided to take him out of there. و ب ع ض ح م ل ت ه ف ي ف ل ك ك You bore another one on in Your Ark و ن ج ي ت ه و م ن آم ن م ع ه
73 Night and Day of Eid 73 and saved him and those who believed with him م ن ٱ ل ه ل ك ة ب ر ح م ت ك from perdition, out of Your mercy. و ب ع ض ٱت خ ذ ت ه ل ن ف س ك خ ل يال You took another one as Your intimate friend و س ال ك ل س ان ص د ق ف ي ٱآلخ ر ين ف ا ج ب ت ه and when he asked You to leave behind him a truthful mention, You responded to him و ج ع ل ت ذ ل ك ع ل ي ا and made that (mention) to be eminent. و ب ع ض ك ل م ت ه م ن ش ج ر ة ت ك ل يما You spoke to another one from a tree directly و ج ع ل ت ل ه م ن ا خ يه ر د ءا و و ز يرا and decided his brother to be his protector and representative. و ب ع ض او ل د ت ه م ن غ ي ر ا ب You made another one to be born without a father, و آت ي ت ه ٱ ل ب ي ن ات gave him clear-cut proofs
74 Night and Day of Eid 74 و اي د ت ه ب ر وح ٱ ل ق د س and aided him with the Sacred Spirit. و ك ل ش ر ع ت ل ه ش ر يع ة For each of them, You gave a code of law, و ن ه ج ت ل ه م ن ه اجا decided a certain course, و ت خ ي ر ت ل ه ا و ص ي اء and finely chose successors; م س ت ح ف ظا ب ع د م س ت ح ف ظ well-trustworthy successors one after another, م ن م د ة إ ل ى م د ة each for a certain period, إ ق ام ة ل د ين ك in purpose of establishing Your religion و ح ج ة ع ل ى ع ب اد ك and acting as arguments against Your servants, و ل ئ ال ي ز ول ٱ ل ح ق ع ن م ق ر ه so that the truth should never leave its position
75 Night and Day of Eid 75 و ي غ ل ب ٱل ب اط ل ع ل ى ا ه ل ه and the wrong should never overcome the people of the truth و ال ي ق ول ا ح د and so that none should claim, saying, ل و ال ا ر س ل ت إ ل ي ن ا ر س وال م ن ذ را If only You had sent to us a warning messenger و ا ق م ت ل ن ا ع ل ما ه اد يا and established for us a guiding person, ف ن ت ب ع آي ات ك م ن ق ب ل ان ن ذ ل و ن خ ز ى we should have followed Your signs before that we met humiliation and disgrace! بٱال ٱن ت ه ي ت ن إ ل ى ا م ر إ ل ى ح ب يب ك و ن ج يب ك م ح م د You then ended the matter with Your most-beloved and well-select one, Mu ammad, ص ل ى ٱ لل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه may Allah bless him and his Household. ف ك ان ك م ا ٱ ن ت ج ب ت ه He was as exactly as You have chosen
76 Night and Day of Eid 76 س ي د م ن خ ل ق ت ه the master of all those whom You created, و ص ف و ة م ن ٱ ص ط ف ي ت ه the best of all those whom You selected, و اف ض ل م ن ٱ ج ت ب ي ت ه the most favorite of all those whom You pointed out, و اك ر م م ن ٱع ت م د ت ه and the noblest of all those on whom You decided. ق د م ت ه ع ل ى ا ن ب ي ائ ك So, You preferred him to Your prophets, و ب ع ث ت ه إ ل ى ٱلث ق ل ي ن م ن ع ب اد ك sent him to the two dependents (men and jinn) from Your servants, و او ط ا ت ه م ش ار ق ك و م غ ار ب ك enabled him to tread on the east and the west of Your lands, و س خ ر ت ل ه ٱ ل ب ر اق made subservient to him the Bur q (the celestial sumpter), و ع ر ج ت ب ر و ح ه إ ل ى س م ائ ك raised his soul to Your heavens,
