1. SpeedDream 70 Excellence through Innovation It s been said that each new generation of innovators borrows from the past to build a brighter future.

But those who are truly successful also borrow from the future. Such is the new SpeedDream 70 from Vlad Murnikov. This design incorporates innovative ideas and aesthetics that will typify the next generation of high performance cruising sailboats. A futuristic, yet timelessly classic design with elegant style, a slender, low resistance hull, a functional deck layout, a bright and airy interior and a sail plan that provides ample power yet is easy to manage with a small crew. What sets SpeedDream 70 apart is performance, in every area. With a flick of the wrist the canting keel adds tremendous power to the sleek, low-drag hull. The boat slides effortlessly through water and easily translates this immense power into astonishing performance with cruising speeds reaching 25 knots and more.

4 SpeedDream 70 is everything you need to enjoy high performance sailing in style and comfort. The sculpted deck and superstructure are shaped to shed water as quickly as possible to keep the crew dry when sailing fast. It features a well protected cockpit, a generous flush foredeck perfect for sunbathing, and even a thrill cockpit for two all the way forward. Imagine having a cocktail there while flying along at 25 knots, well tethered of course. Below deck the interior is generous, stylish and versatile. Custom tailored accommodations typically include a master stateroom with either one or two guest cabins. The main salon is spacious and the galley good enough for a gourmet chef. There are two heads with showers, plenty of storage including an oversized lazarette for boat toys. The interior and deck space are ergonomically designed to keep the crew comfortable, rested and refreshed at all times, adding to their safety and enjoyment either during a short day on water or a long-distance voyage. Indeed every aspect of modern sailboat design has been given a careful consideration and improved upon.

8 4. Introducing the Designer Born in Russia, Vlad Murnikov burst onto the international sailing scene with his revolutionary FAZISI project. The boat participated in the Whitbread/Volvo Ocean Race. FAZISI was a superlight 83foot maxi-yacht that proved to be very fast and achieved the second longest days run of the entire fleet which consisted of 23 of the worlds top racing boats. In the US Vlad worked as a consultant for Ted Hood Design where he participated in a variety of designs projects for custom luxury yacht projects, both sail and power. At the same time he was also building his own design business. Vlad s current project is SpeedDream, a quest to build the world s fastest monohull to challenge for the Jules Vern Trophy.
